Even if they freeze their eggs and wait for Prince Charming well into their 40s they still have no value.

But if she gets a kid in her mid thirties, she will still be young and fit and can do so without significantly increasing the risk of having a disabled child.

Isn't the divorce rate like 60% these days?
Also how many of those that remain married are actually happy and not just still together for the kids/out of convenience? Assume half of the remaining 40%.
It really doesn't seem worth the risk for a 20% chance of a happy marriage.

Men don't have a wall because we start off being disposable. The wall is unique to females and they ignore the concept at their peril.

A poster on here who works in the fertility field said his experience was that most women in their late 30's and early 40's got pregnant with minimal intervention, and that he felt 45 was the drop-off age .. my experience and observation would tie with that.
People have a totally skewed idea of womens' fertility window because most of our Mum's got married young, had kids young and then used very extreme forms on contraception - like sterilization - to avoid having more. Left to nature they'll keep having them til mid-40's (unless they have srs fertility issues - that would have affected them younger too). When I was a teenager two women I knew (two kinda air-heady women tbh) fell pregnant at 45 cause they thought they were gettin past it and weren't careful).

The thing older women who tend to hold off on family and children so late in the game, is that many men stop playing that game after 30-35. The pool is slim pickings for women trying to tie down a man who is post 35, unless they are FA who are truly desperate for any type of human contact. Real, prime, grade-A Chads, I'm sure.

Also, a 40 year old woman is over13 timesmore likely to have a kid with Down's syndrome compared to a 20 year old female.

Your Mum may have had 2 unsuccessful pregnancies after 40 but that's not necessarily the norm; plus I've known women who've had miscarriages at all ages inc. early 20's - apparently something like 1 in 3 pregnancies end in miscarriage (some so early the mother doesn't even realise it's a miscarriage).

(Also father's age matters - post 39/40 ability to get woman pregnant, risk of miscarriage and risk of birth defects are all worse ... UK & US fertility clinics have now stopped accepting > 39/40 yr old sperm).
This does not of course mean they can't and don't get women pregnant - and that the kids aren't fine; this similarly illustrates the fallacy of sweeping generalisations re. stats.
