The fukin struggle bus was in full drive this morning. I sliced open my thumb cutting sweet potatoes yesterday, followed my slicing my index finger on the opposite hand open due to a broken piece of glass I missed in my sink drain. Combine that with my left shoulder that has been aching and that = a pretty difficult chest day. Fawk.

Wasn't super good on Saturday but I don't care. I took my daughter to Reptile Land for a day together, and we got chicken wing pizza after. Ate 7 pieces and no fuks given. No negative effects in the mirror or bloat the next day.

Hope all the SCC enjoyed the weekend!!

That's in your head (srs). You attach happiness to a number of calories. Myself and NUMEROUS others have gone well below 1500 calories for extended periods. Most of us have done PSMF with under 1k cals. It's not healthy but it does work.

If 1800 makes you fat and 1500 makes you dizzy, then you either have something wrong physically, or something wrong mentally
1800 with no exercise
1500 exercising 2 hours a day

That's the difference

People ITT going for long periods of time 1500 calories, especially men, are placing themselves at risk for developing an eating disorder. I've been in treatment for one for 22 years, in an out of intensive outpatient treatment and hospitalizations.

I know calories too well and see how they have ruined others lives in group therapy.

Some are former fitness models.

If a cheat food is eaten then they find ways to get rid of it, our bodies are designed to fight starvation and keep us alive.

That's what bodybuilding and fitness is though. The whole thing is just screaming body issues and eating disorders. I've dealt with legitimate binge eating in the past following very low calorie diets and getting very lean. I know what it's like.

The other side of the coin, is that SOME people can get away with going very low calorie and NOT have issues with eating disorders.

I gained a lot of fat while addressing my issues and worked on getting mentally healthy before I decided to give dieting another shot.

If you're 22 years into an eating disorder without relief then it may be time to accept that looking like a fitness model is NOT for you. It's a hard pill to swallow but not everyone is created equal. Not everyone is made to be thin and stay thin. Some fat people lose a bunch of weight and can maintain their new low weight easily...some can't. That's life.

Sorry to red pill you hard but 1500 calories is not unhealthy from a physiological standpoint for women and small men. Adequate nutrition is very possible with the resources and food availability we have today.

If you want to be thin, it's time to accept the fact that you're going to be hungry and you can't eat a lot

if you gain weight on 1800 calories you need to eat more until you don't.

your cortisols probably so high from worrying about calories that you're putting on water weight in your titties.

Dieting is certainly a slippery slope. The first time I started really counting calories and weighing food, I saw how it could easily turn into an eating disorder. I actually watched one of my friends around the same time develop ED trying to get abs. Young guy, 21-22, took him a year or two to get over it. These days I don't take it too seriously. Having a cheat meal or at least a few meals each week you don't count seems to give your brain a break and signal that "bad" foods are still ok.

We've been having some problems at work on a machine I was just assigned to last week. Had to go in last night for 6 hours so I'm just going to work nights most of this week. Needed to spend some time with my night shift crews anyway. Wonder how this will go with training/diet? The good news is that I'll be working 8 hours or less instead of 10+, so more time for gym and wood shop.

I disagree. In order to be successful at BBing, one must count to an extent. If you want to be super lean, again, you're going to need to count. Ask any BBer that has made it anywhere in the industry and its always the same. They count macros. Always. Maybe we should say you just shouldn't be a BBer, since it requires a certain level of obsessiveness.

My opinion on the subject has little to do with counting, but instead, have a plan and stick with it. The eating disorders are usually brought on by not knowing what to do, or by constantly changing the plan. If you can't resist binging, then either you just shouldn't be lean, or you need to find a hobby that doesn't require obsessive behaviors. Good luck with that though. Pretty much all sports require that if you want to be any good at all

I agree. A lot of people need to worry about getting their mental health right before worrying about fitness and dieting.

My apologies I am unsubscribing as this thread is too triggering for me to diet.

I've recoverED over the years, I just go up and down because I don't like being a bigger size but my health is more important than size, especially at age 45.

I was recently rejected by a 48 year old for my size so I'm super sensitive about it lately.

Yup, when I first went into recovery: no more counting calories, macros, weighing myself.

Then I gained too much weight IMO, plus I'm a competitive singles tennis player so it slowed me down. It's very frustrating and a constant battle.

This. I took the last 5-6 months getting fat and focusing on my head rather than trying to fail another diet. It paid off. I haven't had this much success in a long time.

My fiancรฉ struggled with this, not to the extent as you, but she had an eating disorder for awhile. She won't count calories now because it literally consumes here to the point of taking over her life. So I get where you are coming from. Just keep making you and your health top priority and then hopefully you can ease yourself back into dieting to attain your goals.

Just finished a brutal deadlift/squat session. Switched over to sets of 10 for squats (almost never have done sets for more than 5 reps), did not make it through 5 sets, quads cramped up pretty badly at the end of set 4 and I had to bail. lol. New low weigh-in this morning, 176.6 lb. Waist size is down 1/4", too.

When I feel as if I'm getting, well let's say a bit cranky, I've learned to just eat a couple of rice cakes.

Within a a few minutes I'm back in my happy place.
She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.

Get outta here then you soft c***

This is bodybuilding.com obviously you are a little lost. How you expect people to ever get shredded if they listen to that nonsense
People like you have some issue with food and you think calorie counting is the devil or that everybody is starving themselves. And you back it up with nothing.

And you want people to take you seriously yet you cite a nutritionist as your basis of argument. Perhaps the biggest joke of a redundant profession there is in modern day

Ive had both sides of ED btw
Doesnt take 22 years to get over an ED. you just get over it, deal with the underlying issues causing it and stick food in your mouth. And lift some god damn weight.

Well my left shoulder is fuked. Been aching for a few weeks, small in convenience on chest day this week, but squatting finished it off. I was being stupid and not listening to my body, now I have to get into my body mechanics doctor to work on it. Cannot take a week off right now in middle of supplementation.

Got to eliminate the following for a few weeks:
- barbell bench of any kind
- any OHP, weight or machine
- squats
- not sure what/if any back movements.

Not happy at all, but such is life. I need to stop being so stubborn thinking I can work through everything instead of working around it.
