Please quit asap op. I never had to deal with a stim addiction, but I've seen people I know have full blown psychotic breaks and periods in total insanity thanks to amp abuse..... not saying you're at that stage but you easily could be, and it's clearly effecting your mental health badly at this point.

You need toseek professional helpand prepare for an extended period of feeling utterly drained, depressed and like chit. There's way worse things to be addicted to so look on the bright side!

I wasn't saying that you said everyone can! I was referring to the whole "disease" thing. Sometimes it is a disease, sometimes you can't quit with sheer will

The overwhelming majority do. Just like with evolution and vaccines, but you probably think those are fake too.

There's no actual scientific or medical evidence of any other explanation, but plenty for the disease model. But obviously the miscer is onto something all those book-learnin' eggheads missed.

I moved country to beat my addiction. Hence my location now.

OP try to maneuver yourself so you can't get it/too much hassle to get it. It's a long game but it works.

Good luck, seriously.
We're all gonna make it.

Yes! Overdosing is more often the case but unsupervised withdrawal deaths are becoming ruthlessly common

Obviously a model from the medical community will treat the matter from a biochemical/disease paradigm. To a man with a hammer every problem looks like a nail etc etc. It ignores the social/psychological/behavioral causes of addiction, and fails to explain key parts of the story

Just because you say it a million times, doesn't make it so, and just because you insult me, doesn't make me feel any kind of way. Sorry.

Interesting I'll look into it. I was under the impression opiate withdrawal deaths are almost always from complications rather that the withdrawal per se

I just noticed that you're a UK brah! If I could speak more openly about it I would but right now here in Canada this new horror is the most heated substance around and the crack down has begun. When I was living in Saskatchewan working in the oil patch I went to 8 of my friends funerals over this ****

I don't understand addictions, what if you look at the cost/benefit analysis of it? Benefit: short term relief of desire, cost: prisoner to desire for long term. What do you think then?
The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.

8 people? That's horrible. I am sorry for that. I read some article about Dayton, Ohio where the morgues are full because of all overdoses and they don't know where to put the bodies. They called it like a zombie town, since the people look like living dead. Yikes.

Aren't we all prisoners to desire in some way or another anyway? And if you can afford it.... Why not let the good times roll?

What you have to understand is that there is a counter culture of naive drug acceptance and drug romanticizing going on right now.

some drugs can be rewarding with rare and responsible use

but any time you adopt a regular schedule and start looking forward to it more and more, you should immediately know you have a problem.

You're already ahead of MANY people who refuse to acknowledge there is a problem.

Drugs unlock higher highs but the lowest of lows as well. This is probably what caused the lead singer of Linkin Park to kill himself recently (RIP). People who haven't abused drugs do not understand the unnatural depths of despair that you can find yourself in on comedowns from various drugs. It is incomprehensible to them.

anyway you have my support and I wish you the best of luck. You're not weak, but you stacked the cards against yourself. That's not a judgement, I think understanding that it's supposed to be hard can help you. You gotta try harder than you think you can because you're going to experience an unnatural low. You gotta claw your way out, no half assing this. But know that you WILL DEFINITELY BE OKAY if you do the right thing and let time heal you. You are not trapped by any means even though it can appear that way.

Zombie town... you nailed it Cass. It's just awful.. my boyfriend and I ended up putting our house up for sale and moving out of the province because it was just too much to handle. Too many funerals.

I like the way you think. I reason similarly along those lines and it hasn't steered me into becoming a drugged up loser jonesing for my next hit.

I was listening to the radio this morning and it mentioned how foster homes now are extremely overcrowded do to the parent/parents overdosing and dying, or kids being taken away from the junky parents. The opioid epidemic is hitting Florida pretty hard, we were the pill mill capital for awhile, now that the mills closed down the addicts went to the needle.

wow.. I see. I saw a documentary where they said how easy it is to get a prescription in Florida. So now they have stopped the easy access? I could see them going to the needle because you get better high and costs less money.

Not saying that I hope you get caught, but from talking with many people I've dealt with, it took jail.. And if it's serious enough in your state, not getting bailed out. If you're sitting in jail for 3 months or whatever it may be, it will at least get you away from it. (Hopefully you can avoid any substances that may slip into the jail).

This, similar for people who tell people with depression to 'cheer up'. They haven't experienced depression, and people who haven't used drugs haven't experienced drugs, and therefore their minds are forever closed in a sense to that aspect and understanding of it until/if they experience it.

I know what it feels like coming down from the most dangerous and poisonous drug and if you're already depressed, that feeling is hellish. The only thing that helps is to go smoke some more.
Never ever do I want that feeling again. The coming down feeling. So no more drugs for me. Even alcohol is a depressant and I feel depressed the next day. It's just not worth it.
