What are most recommended attachments for an AR-15?

I've had a bare bones AR for a while and can hit targets pretty easily with 100 yards...but not at the rate of fire I would like.

Trigger: Improving your trigger will allow you better control over when your shot breaks, increasing consistency.
Optic: Using a red dot or a magnified optic is easier/allows you to see your target better than an aperture sight
Free Float Rail: Free floating your barrel will increase the consistency of your shots.
Grip: Different grips have different grip angles, a more vertical or larger grip may allow you to more comfortably position your hand or more consistently place your finger on the trigger.

Whats the advantage of this? Is it worth the extra $?

Could a guy turn around and sell this tomorrow for what it all costs?

What kind/size and what do you want it to accomplish?

IMO, only mechanical locks, no electronic.

For something that is childproof and nosy-houseguest proof, check out a Costco or Sam's Club or similar and expect to spend $500-$1k or so for something that would require effort to break into or steal outright. Expect it to actually hold about 1/3 as many long guns (rifles/shotguns) as it advertises. If possible, bolt it down (to the floor). Ideally put it somewhere with limited working room around it, such as a corner or a closet or the corner of a walk in closet (less room to swing hammers/axes to break it open, less room to use pry bars to leverage it open). Don't expect it to protect anything in the event of a legitimate fire.

It's probably $4k or so to get an actual "safe" and not a glorified residential security container, so if you want something somewhat legitimate, it will take a lot more money and research to be sure you get what you want (for that look at stuff like american security aka AMSEC).

A lot of guys get a Liberty Safe brand for an inexpensive decent locked storage.

The advantage is that it has more ergonomic furniture on it, and a fun 1776 flag themed roll mark.

As far as selling it at cost, probably not.

It is a buyer's market right now, prices are CHEAP AF. Supply is beyond overflowing. It's too easy and cheap to buy quality stuff new right now, nobody is going to pay new prices for used*

Check out Fort Knox safes if you have the $$
I also like Liberty Safes

They make plenty of cheaper options if you are looking at something more to keep kids out of. I'm using a Cannon right now, but when I move next year I'll be looking budgeting for a Fort Knox.

While just throwing a complete upper and lower together is easy, you'll get way more satisfaction by actually building your first AR. Fairly easy building one even for a first timer. Plenty of how-to vids on youtube. It's like legos for adults.

Bolt Carrier should be 8620
Bolt should be Carpenter 158
Barrel should be 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium and either Nitride (QPQ) or Chrome lined.
-Barrel Twist should be 1:7
-Staking
Properly staked castle nut and gas key

While a midlength gas system is preferable, they're harder to find at this pricepoint. Carbine gas systems still run, and have run reliably for decades, they're just slightly less smooth. If your indoor range is at least 25 yards, you can still have a good time with an AR. While it's fun to stretch an AR out, shooting an AR with irons at 25 yds is a good time as well.

You'll shoot your eye out!

Though building an AR is simple, you will have to invest in some tools to do it easily, correctly, and without at least marring the parts. The thing is with those who have never own an AR, new builders tend to spend a lot of cash on parts and accessories they don't need. Parts that look tacticool, but have very little function outside of wasting money.

Get a basic AR, built, or at least complete upper/lower, spend the rest on ammo, range time, training, and learn what people actually use irl.

Building an AR is incredibly fun, addicting, and expensive (because it's fun and addicting). Just learn what works, and what doesn't will save you money down the road.
