Not a popular opinion on this board, but if their countries are that ****ed-up, it's mostly all us (westerner) fault, at least "we" -the majority voted for the people who did for years. We can't just turn our back after bombarding their places for decades, let the radical islamists take over their countries by clinical removal of dictators that kept them in check, just because of petrols and excited warmongers like Clinton or Bush.

Stayed in London for a semester. School was in kind of a chit area but the nicer parts are sweet. Solid food and good venues at night. Liked it more than NYC

San Francisco. Hands down.

When tourists show up, they realize there is nothing to do but see a giant old red bridge, smell piss, fight off aggressive homeless people, and visit a tourist trap called Pier 39.

Living there is even worse.

Lol this thread.

London has its drawbacks for certain. Just got stung HARD for a housing deposit. But you know what, I love my city. Music culture a-plenty. Plenty of friends from around the globe and I wouldn't have it any other way.

100%

You do need money, but it's one of the few cities you will never run out of things to do or see. If you aren't going to pay 6 quid for a pint, then take your poverty ass to Blackpool or something.

lol aint that most cities and places in general though (despite some being visually impressive). 80% is mediocre and ghetto trash, and then there's like the other 20% which are the financial areas, high income homes, high quality dining, etc.

Interdasssting thread .

American here who's only been to 2 big European cities : Paris and Barcelona

Paris was a 9.5/ 10 . bad ass city and not BRUTALLY expensive if you watch what you spend money on.

Barcelona a 9 /10 . lots of good energy there and great weather.

how does London compare legit to those 2 cities ?

Barca is lovely. I mean they HATE tourists, but its a really nice city. Great for the parties.

I'm not a fan of Paris or Parisians, that attitude pervades a lot of europe.

I would say Barca > London > Paris.

London is mad expensive though. I mean, ยฃ5 pints are standard in any pub. Clubbing is great, you just have to know WHERE to go (this is everything, but resident advisor will cover you well!).

There is always chit to get up to, you won't get bored.

As for all this talk of immigrants, lol, you realise most of the immigrants are european. I hear more Italian and Spanish than Urudu or Arabic.

What is so funny about it? There is a reason why millions of tourists flock here, it is not just because we have a beautiful country but also the fact that we are welcoming and great fun and know how to have a good time.. Don't hold it against me if some people do not welcome you brits with open arms..

Complain about it being expensive, the weather sucking and it being very time consuming to get around, but come on... Obviously, living in said areas is not for poor bastards like me, but that doesn't that away from the fact that London is quite great.

Source: lived there in a neighbourhood full of muslim immigrants for some time (not saying that immigation is not an issue there, but still). No problems at all, and enjoyed my stay.

You could do the same for NYC or Paris because just about any massive capital has lots of chithole areas.

I can see why an ignorant ameribrah may not get London. It is low rise, not much of a skyline, interesting places are hidden away and it isn't in-your-face bigger=better like most of the USA is.

it has a fuking muslim mayor who believes islamic terror should be an accepted every day occurance of a major city. it is now a certifiable chit hole as far as im concerned. However, with Brexit and the many great minds Britain naturally has, i think London will be great again eventually
