Ask an NFL employee anything (SRS)

Hi guys!

So I've gotten this request from quite a few people. As some of you may know I am entering my second season cheering for a major NFL team. If you have any questions about rules, team politics, workouts, training camp or behind the scenes fun stuff just ask. This year I will also be assisting with our media department so I'm looking forward to that.

I will start by saying I can't tell you what team, as all social media where I reveal my affiliation must be approved by our social media director. I could get in big trouble or lose my spot, which would be bad.

Please respect the srs tag as well.

Thanks

How many of the cheerleaders are banging the players / coaches?

I've read cheerleaders are paid peanuts. Do a bunch of the girls become NFL cheerleaders solely to get close to the millionaire players and secure their future as their baby mommas and wives/gfs?

I know many teams in different sports have policies about staying away from the players and vice versa but come on.

So actually, we aren't allowed to socialize with the players outside of team sanctioned events. We really aren't even supposed to be friends. I have never in my career had a single conversation with any of the coaches and if any of us got caught sleeping with them we'd be fired immediately.

My director is very strict about this too. One girl just went to a party that a player threw and she lost her spot. It's not worth it to most of us. I've only spoken to one player, ever and that's because he was apologizing for running me over by mistake during a game of flag football. That was a fun day though.

We are paid 50 dollars per game. We're all required to either be full time students or full time employees. You also have to have a HS diploma.

Our call is three hours before games, not including what time you have to arrive to be on the bus to the stadium. It would be too much for security to check us all in one by one so we take a bus together. For AM games, the bus leaves at 6 am.

If you miss the bus you don't get to perform in the game.

I know someone who tries out every year and she's been getting close but hasn't got a spot. Why do you women try so hard to become a cheerleader in the NFL when you barely get compensated for it?

What is the appeal of the job to you? It's obviously not money. You like dancing and showing off your body to thousands (and at times millions) for basically free?

We do a lot of work with the troops. My two brothers served and this was a big draw for me. I also love the chance to do charity work and go to locations for the calendar shoots. Free vacation. It is really hard to get a spot--at least 300 girls try out every year, sometimes more.

It's my way of being a patriot. I really don't believe in women in combat and football is the All American sport. I can't be a player, so I do this. It makes me feel like I'm part of something bigger than me with all the fan support and love. I would prefer the uniforms cover more but that's a small price to pay for me.

I randomly met a group of Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders at a pizza place at 2am after going to the bars. They looked like normal people, they had average looking bodies in normal clothes and they had resting bltch face while waiting in line for some za. They were cool when I talked to them though. It was weird and an incredible coincidence. My question is, when you go out and random people ask what you do for a living do they believe that you're an NFL cheerleader?

DCC are GOAT. They're the best in the league and I have a huge amount of respect for them. Haha, people do believe me. I'm very bubbly and always smiling which is enough to convince most people I'm the cheerleader type. Most of the girls are very sweet. Fans usually want pictures, autographs and details about players. Everyone at my school knows and I get nothing but support.

Do most of the girls get along with each other, or do some of you put up with each other because it's a must? How long will you continue to do this?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how deep is our love? <------(most important question btw)

Most of us do get along. There is one girl in particular I don't like because she is a ****ing redneck and is always making very ignorant comments. She also brown noses the directors. We don't have beef but I avoid her when I can.

There's some jealously because our directors have favorites and they're not good at hiding it.

I plan to do it for 5 years if I can--after the 5 year mark, they encourage you strongly to retire. Leave gracefully, if you will.

So deep baby...so deep.
