People who enjoy the taste of whisky

How? I have a friend who finished off my bottle of jack. He drank right out of the bottle maybe 3 or 4 shots then said "ahhh...that's some good stuff." with a happy expression on his face as if he was drinking coca cola.

Dafuq? Taste like lighter fluid to me & most other people.

You shouldn't be drinking whiskey straight out of a bottle. Throwing a couple drops of water into it completely changes the flavor. Jack wouldn't be my first choice for sipping either.

I actually thoroughly enjoy the taste. I also could have said to been bordering on alcoholism once upon a time. So that may be the prerequisite

I only drink whiskey or scotch at room temperature, neat, unless I read that the certain bottle I have is better with a drop or two of water. Once you are acquainted to the taste there's no going back.

Easy you're just not desperate enough.

I would pound shot after shot and let me tell you, this is not very sustainable long term.
There's just something about sitting back next to a bonfire or camping and sippin' on some whisky tho.

If you and the rest of the ******* haters ITT were able to keep the taste of jizz, piss, dik and balls out of your thirsty ******* mouths and throats for a few days, you might be able to appreciate the delicious taste of spirits.

I highly doubt you can go a night without a cawk in your throat though, *******.

I don't like Jack. But when I drink, it's almost always whisky neat. Crown is a pretty cheap whisky that is easy to drink. That warm rush when you take those first couple sips is the greatest

Finally. I like mine with Maker's Mark - you? Repped. It's my favorite cocktail.

For those who love whisky, my favorite bottle so far is the Balvenie 30 Year. If you can recommend something that competes with that I'd be really interested in trying - I also tend to stick to Scottish, have yet to try Japanese for example. I hear even Germany is getting into whisky making.

You sip whiskey to enjoy the flavors and aromas, you dont drink it.

In addition there are mixing whiskeys and sipping whiskeys. I love Jack Danielle's but its on the list of whiskeys I use to mix.

Get a bottle of angels envy and sip it or barely put a dash of water in it to cut the bite. Focus on the flavor notes and aromas while drinking it and see if you enjoy the subtleties. If you dont like it in that format then you probably wont ever like it.

No..Not a whiskey snob. Bartender for a while and subsequently toured and conversed with many of the whiskey distillers.

Depends heavily on what kind of whiskey it is.. some of the cheaper single-malts can be disgusting.

This thread reminds me of one of my friends, who belittles people who say they don't enjoy the taste of whiskey but hides the sour expression on his face every time he takes a sip. Relax, it's a drink. No need to relate your manhood to it.

More expensive stuff is easier to drink straight. No ice.

Usually, if I am drinking whiskey though(I usually am drinking vodka) I throw some ginger ale(diet gingerale) in there.
