I'm a Toyota guy but I would cheat with a newer Chevy truck. That front end is hnnnggg.
I like white but prob would have gone with a different color.
Black is a great color...for an ugly vehicle. Black hides most of the lines.
I like that you use your truck. But the pictures of "work" you posted could be done with my 2wd V6 2003 Tundra.

This is probably not something I should brag about at all, probably makes you look better and me worse...
but...
The only time I'd spend upwards of $40k on a car is when I was doing it to buy something to show off and enjoy driving like a sports car/something ridiculous like that. If I was going for functional, I imagine a used $30k truck would not only do the job, but it would do it well and look good doing it and you'd lose less on resale.
Either way, it sounds like 1) you'll use it, 2) you have property, 3) you are self employed with a strong income, and 4) you'll enjoy it which means... good job dave man, enjoy that thing. It looks awesome.

Trucks are awesome and I've always driven one but you don't need a 2500 or 3500 unless you are making money with it. The diesel engines alone are a 10-12,000 dollar option on the new ones and to buy a truck like that to use as a daily driver is stupid, unless you have tons of money to blow.

I'm not really a truck guy but damn that's a nice looking truck OP.
Do you feel it was worth it to trade in your old truck for the 8k loss? Over like let's say a leasing situation.
