Source: I'm a manager in my company and regularly interview and making hiring decisions. Would I care if anyone is wearing anything at this point, nope, and I'd probably ask what it was, but when it comes to interviews it's very easy to let subconscious things sway your decision making. Especially when you have two candidates competing who have pretty much identical quals and interview success with you.
With my luck, I'd have some broad from HR sitting in and my SOTD would remind her of an abusive ex boyfriend

This topic comes up occasionally in the FB groups and I'm always amazed at how many people ignore this basic logic and insist on wearing something. Even if there's a 1% chance of an interviewer not liking your scent - why risk it?
Good luck!

In my opinion, it's better to have someone smell your cologne before your potential bad breath or nervous body odor, stinky shoes, fish smell from that tilapia you cooked for breakfast, or something similar. We get used to our own natural smells, and overlook things that a stranger might pick up right away. And the odds of someone actually being offended by cologne are extremely slim. On the other hand, an interviewer may be impressed that you care enough to smell pleasant. But the key is subtlety. One or two sprays versus the 10-14 sprays I see some folks spraying around here, lol. And I would definitely wear something soapy and clean smelling..... not a medicinal oud or some other niche fragrance.

Yes, you get a regular sprayer and cap now. But it is non-removeable, and $30 more. I like it being removable to decant.

Got a sample of Aventus, it smells like my old Brut aftershave, both on the card and on my skin. Bleu de Chanel stomps all over it.

Glad I didn't buy into the fad when this frag was a 24/7 meme on the misc.

Hasn't it been stated that scent is linked closely to memory, if so couldn't that put you at an advantage if the interview is more likely to remember your conversations/interaction?

A sample won't do its justice. I remember when I first smelled Aventus (by way of sample) and I was not impressed. I was actually kind of grossed out to me. Smelled like a citrus kitchen cleaner to me. People in here kept telling me not to give up on it and that a sample won't give you the full story. It started to grow on me. I still wasn't impressed by it but I wasn't disgusted by it anymore. It grew on me more and more. Finally, I ordered a decant from a splitter on here and absolutely fell in love with in. Also, Aventus is one of those colognes that turns into something magical long after you can smell it on yourself anymore. It is one of those colognes that others will continue to smell on you long after you can smell it on yourself.

So I decided to pull the trigger on Allure homme sport eau extreme. I was hesitant at first because I already had AHS but decided after a second sample that it was different enough to warrant a purchase.

To me there's definitely a similar DNA in both.

AHS = base DNA + notes that give it a dry, slightly creamy piercing and uplifting vibe that's perfect for high heat.

AHSEE = base DNA + notes that give it a sweet/creamy/play-dohy vibe that makes it more sensual and perfect for an evening out.

Tried it on today for the first time and a female friend came to check me at work. Immediately as she came into the office, she said something smelt nice and edible, like pastries in here.

Never boarded that hype train, myself. Gotten a couple different decants of it, keep revisiting it like SDO did..... still smells like pineapple roasting on a campfire of dried horse manure to me. But you may become a fan, who knows. Fortunately, there's enough frags out there to please everybody!
