Other men will hit 405 deads well before they even put up 275 on the bench. Those charts are accurate lmao, you being stronger in a year or two means nothing
I started out and am pretty sure I am very average though, I started out benching 65 lbs for 5 reps, my clavicle is 12 inches and my wingspan is longer than I am tall. The last time I played sports was 8 years before I started lifting. I'm not built for bench, I was not strong to begin with, I am average, which is why I find that chart ridiculous for people that actually care about building their bench, and who would look at a chart like that if they don't care about how much they bench. It's like me looking at a chart of whats good on the irowing machine because sometimes I use it for cardio. What???

Anyway to answer the OP's question, I think 225 for a 140 lb girl who trains consistently for a one rep max on bench for years, as in more than 3 or 4 of them is achievable natty with some but not a ridiculous amount of arch and a pinkies on rings grip, 200 is what I would consider elite for the weight class above mine (which would be 138 which is basically 140) I actually did a static hold with 225 for 15 seconds yesterday, it was bad, but not as bad as when I did one with 150 when I could only bench 115.

Yeah the 138s seem to be the most popular class at local meets. That's a good bench, my 175 is touch and go, best I've paused is 165 and I'm scared to open with anything lower because USAPL makes you pause for way too long.

Most women are doing well if they bench their bodyweight (assuming a healthy bodyweight) in a couple of years of decicated work. Doing well.

Those benching 150+% of their bodyweight are usually engaging in some acrobatic benching and/or in Better Living Through Chemistry.

Jennifer Thompson, natty or not, is about six standard deviations above the norm, and is not a good example for a discussion of what most women can expect while training, any more than is someone with cystic fibrosis. Extremes.

Those interested in this sort of thing would do well to look for Greg Nuckols' strength theory work, he looks at data from meets and so on.

Not gonna say I agree entirely with the 150% thing, but in the interest of time can you link me to where he has the data? He puts out a lot of info and I don't have that time.

That's really not a bet you want to take buddy, I've already posted a video of me strict pressing 130 at 129, and squatting 295 at 123. I also posted one of me benching 133 (wrote 132 because I forgot I was using a 45 lb bar not a chitty kilo bar) for 10, and it was my second set of 10. Maybe if you lifted instead of speculating about other people you'd hit halfway decent numbers too (thats what I consider my numbers, except my press, that's pretty damn good tbh).

I post videos from my instagram, miscers know this because miscers have added me on there, they're legit. I had an L5 disc issue at the time of that competition (and still do, but the pain was extremely acute at that time), which is why I am benching with a relatively flat back in the 133 for 10 video. I posted the 133 for 10 video in there to show I was on the mend but I still wasn't able to bench more than 135 without pain for a while, which as you can tell by my video got really frustrating, because that weight ain't no thang.

That's the sport. The analogy we mention here is from cricket: underarm bowling. In a famous Australia-NZ match, the Kiwis were just a couple of runs short of winning. So the Aussie bowler chucked the ball... underarm. Now, the rules did not specify whether to throw overarm or underarm. But nobody had tried underarm before, because then the other guys would do it, and it'd be a complete fcking joke. But just this one ball... and the Aussies won.

Of course, about five minutes after that there was a meeting of the world cricket body's technical committee and they changed the rules. But that toss had been legal.

In a sport, most people will do anything within the letter, not the spirit of the rules to win. And some people will step just a bit outside the letter, too. That's sport.

Now in my gym we train for general strength and long-term health, so we don't do that sort of thing. But if you do a sport, you need to.

Either dat dere or a freak of nature or just excelling at bench in particular

Most women cant deadlift what i can but it's just im naturally good at deadlift
If i had shorter arms perhaps bench would be my best lift

So average bench for a natty woman powerlifter after a few years is bw but some could hit more sure

This I agree with, I consider a few years to be intermediate though because thats when intermediate programming is usually used. Elite is lifting for 5+ years consistently training the lift (for strength). I can see how all the drama started if this was my misunderstanding.

I've seen a visibly muscular woman rep 135lbs at about 140 and I believed she could do roughly 180lbs max. That's the most I've ever seen in like 20 years. Allow for the fact it's not a hardcore gym and I don't go to powerlifting meets but still.

He publishes about 1 article a year - is that a lot?

From his website:http://gregnuckols.com- some of the most interesting bits to me were that as a woman's relative strength increases, the trend for gains is to become exponentially smaller but for men it is a linear relationship. He does also make the valid point that there is a tremendous variability between individuals in these groups (men or women).

The long and short of it is that it depends on the person, within a range. I'm curious why the OP would even ask the question if s/he is clearly not interested in hearing from outliers.

Was looking everywhere but this site because I didn't know it existed, I follow him on youtube and some of the collaborations he was working on. Thanks for the link.

As far as your last point, that was sort of mine as well, strength isn't really like size, so a natty 140 lb woman could potentially bench quite a bit, and genetic outliers, while they may be outliers are still natty (if they are natty), so if you're looking for max potential then you have to consider that, overall it seems like the OP was more interested in confirming his beliefs than the honest answer.

Really wish I could throw some reps your way, especially for the study (it explains a lot that I wish I knew sooner).

Oddly enough, his numbers went down significantly pretty quickly after he decided he didn't care enough about lifting to bother with frogtech anymore.
Her numbers did not go down when she had kids as far as I know, and lets assume a little gear can propel you a long way, fine. Her bench is still 100 lbs above everyone else's and if she is on something its very obvious not high doses, I have talked to her she shows no signs and would have had to be on it the whole time because there is no abnormal progress in her record and like I said no woman is having kids on huge amounts of gear. So ewe have to consider that there are some women who can bench quite a bit at a light weight and since this thread is about the natty limit, not an average, it is relevant.

But i dont think its ever gonna happen
Seriously thinking about it from now on. You might want to do that when you pull 405.

Way to not even read the post. She for sure benches raw.

At f00d you have insane genetics along with a probably really good work ethic. If you've been lifting for less than 2 years and your sig is accurate and you're natty as you claim, then you really shouldn't be comparing yourself to other women or saying a chart may be inaccurate because of your own progress in the gym.

I mean most women can only dream of ever overhead pressing their bodyweight let alone in less than 2 fukn years! Hell I'm sure most of us male miscers didn't reach that point in 2 years.

Tldr you're an anomaly not the norm.

It's not my progress so much as other people I know, granted I train at a powerlifting gym, where everyone is serious, so that might help. There's one girl who is 126 who just hit 145 for 4 and her main sport is jujitsu, I don't think she benches more than once a week, even that might be generous. As for my genetics, I had my signature up in March 2016 when I first joined I believe it was a 95 lb deadlift, 115 lb squat and 95 lb bench. But lets say a natty 140 lb girl lifting for 5 years hits a 175 lb bench, that is certainly not out of the realm of possibility, in fact if they have been training for strength that's what I'd expect.

Just because a woman somewhere in the world can bench x2.5 their own bodyweight, has no relevance to the discussion of what a normal woman can reasonably expect to achieve in the gym on a natty lifting program. It's like asking what someone can reasonably expect to make by starting their own business and then getting responses like 'oh a few billion, check out Zuckerberg'.
"A stupid man's report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand."
