Exactly. So many theories are being taken from the books. I'd say 80% of ppl watching this show don't read the books. I don't. I never heard of azor until today from this thread. If azor shows up ppl are gonna be like. "Da faq is dis?"

Even if he was mentioned. He wasn't mentioned enough for ppl to remember

I think Euron is going to betray Cersei. Him using the money to buy and use the Golden Company would be genius as a way to betray her. He wants the crown, and he knows she is using him and has no intention of marrying him. With the Golden Company, and the Iron Fleet he would control the land and the seas and easily sack Kings Landing. He already has the love of the people in Kings Landing and he could attack the city on the grounds that she broke the oath to marry him since she's pregnant, and not by her betrothed.

Such an underrated battle. The tracking shot from 3:45 is so hnnnng - we even got some Ghost action

And I'm 99% sure the Prince that was Promised and Azor Azhai are the same person- I remember GRRM insinuating it at some point as well

From the books
Melisandre: Swords alone cannot hold this darkness back. Only the light of the Lord can do that. Make no mistake, good sers and valiant brothers, the war we've come to fight is no petty squabble over lands and honors. Ours is a war for life itself, and should we fail the world dies with us.
Aemon: It is the war for the dawn you speak of, my lady. But where is the prince that was promised?
Melisandre: He stands before you, though you do not have the eyes to see. Stannis Baratheon is Azor Ahai come again, the warrior of fire. In him the prophecies are fulfilled. The red comet blazed across the sky to herald his coming, and he bears Lightbringer, the red sword of heroes
If they are the same person there's no point mentioning Azor Azhai in the show, will just confuse people. Melisandre definitely jumps between the two in the books

I'd bet they are different people. Just prophecies being misinterpreted like Melisandre does.

He's basically the champion of humanity who will defeat the "Others" (White Walkers) and end the Long Night (the extended winter of darkness that coincides with the White Walkers' return), though sacrifice may be involved.

If you ever played FFX it's a similar concept - a champion that arises to defeat a great destroyer but may have to sacrifice a loved one to do so. It's debated ifAzor AhaiandThe Prince That Was Promisedare the same or different. Melisandre uses them interchangeably.

This is a great idea.

However I keep coming back to the same problem. There's hardly enough time to tie up all the lose ends they already have, much less make more lose ends to tie up.

I feel like what will happen is the walkers will be winning and we will have forgotten about euron. Then he comes just before snow dies and saves the day.

Each episode is going to be either 80 minutes to 120 minutes long so they will have time. I think it would be perfect since it would allow him to complete the Volonqar prophecy by stangling Cersei and put him as the place of king, they could even have Theon find Yara and she has her tongue cut out, she's pregnant from him raping her and she's tied to the mast of the Silence or something. The only way it wouldn't fit in is because they had to include Cleganebowl as a fan service for some reason. So i don't know how the Hound would be there at the same time to fight The Mountain. This is how D&D box themselves into predictable story telling like this last season.

this would have made the Arya/Sansa **** make a bit more sense

cliffs:

- they were really going to kill each other
- Sansa decides to go to Bran to make sure she's making the right move since he knows everything
- he tells her what little finger has been doing (and would have said nothing if she didn't ask)
- Sansa tells Arya and says she'll let Arya kill him
cue the scene we get

instead they cut all that

Wouldn't surprise me. She empowered the High Sparrow and basically gave him an army.

lol I don't think so only because the chance of surviving is so low. Plus there were alot of other things that contributed to the war.

On top of that, Daenerys or the Dothraki would have worked towards Westeros eventually, sot here would have been war anyways.

I think the last reason why not is that Jaime's reaction was natural, he had concealed his thing with Cersei for years.

Yeah but even if the preordained stuff is valid, there's still all the other things I mentioned. Also, it's a slippery slope where you could basically say Bran is warging into everyone and moving all the chess pieces around. For what purpose? To defeat the Night King? Why not just warg into the children of the forest and not stab the First Man, or warg into the First Man and phuck off somewhere else so he wasn't captured?

They gotta have very strict boundaries with the causal loop thing or the whole story becomes pointless if Bran is the one doing everything.

One thought on Euron Greyjoy and the Golden Company: Presumably Cersei made the deal with the Iron Bank playing a part, and the Golden Company is famous especially for their loyalty. Their motto is even,Our word is good as gold,"so Euron would have to (A) somehow come up withmoregold to buy their loyalty, or (B) secure the Iron Bank's trust over Cersei, which seems highly doubtful considering that bet on Cersei over the Targ with three dragons.

The craziest thing I can think of them having Euron pull off is a kraken, and for pretty much the same reasoning as the zombie bear. As for myself, I'm still waiting for that makes Ramsay "like a little kid" moment... yup... come on, episode 8...

Anyway, something from page 9 ITT:

I think THAT was due to some slight overacting, but directing influences acting, and GoT uses multiple directors. It's why guys like Peter Jackson do many takes to get inflections or expressions just right.

I started being less critical when I got more into her story. Plus she was the only bright spot on the show after the red wedding trauma.
It was only until this season that I began to warm back up to Daenerys a little, although I owe that to, how can I put this, seeingpasther onscreen direction and the context of her actions.

For example, she was still bipolar during the first half of this season, but it took until her defending her actions towards the Tarlys when speaking to Tyrion that a glint of her obvious inexperience seemed to escape into the final cut. She finally looked like a child who got caught making a mistake and visibly having the gears in their head turn when they realize that they really were in the wrong, even as they are in the middle of denying their actions. In addition her slow extension of herself towards Jon's altruistic goals was another positive step - until they had her press for bending the knee.

After reading about how the show got attacked by SJWs for being too "real" in its severity, in hindsight I'm starting to think that another problem with Daenerys has been that they have tried way, waytoo bloody hard to make her into this stoic hashtag-feminism character, which is akin to a restaurant responding to controversial reviews on its steak by deciding to cook it on top of atrout. Rather than continue building upon this young, idealistic, and impressionable girl who needsguidancebefore being anywhere near a potential candidate to rule a lemonade stand, let alone all of Westeros.

Just reading up on the book's version, I think that the major disconnect is that she is a point-of-view character whose conflicted and often hypocritical thought processes are actually explained, whereas the show - for whatever reason - decides to eschew any thought process entirely, in favor of a blank expression and actions taken without any discernible reason. Without the necessary thinking behind her actions, while also trying to make Dany out to be a frontrunner for the Iron Throne, the show ended up creating a stubborn, self-righteous, bratty, and hypocritical conqueror fueled by empty entitlement. Daenerys is the epitome of telling instead of showing as a result; look at how forced the scene with Missandei, Jon, and Ser Davos is when she's gushing about Dany's kindness, then Ser Davos practically winks at the camera saying how maybe he should join such a benevolent side. This is a common theme, down to Tyrion's insistence that hebelievesin Daenerys, but the series has failed to show us in what conceivable way would she actually make a decent leader of an entirecontinent.

Dany's erratic and often destructive behavior without neither balancing empathy and compassion, nor contemplation, resulted in the show creating a better Mad Queen runner-up than the ray of hope they had been trying to achieve. For the batchit insane choices that Dany has made this season, it still seems like they let her be more human, although I stand by thinking that they should have directed her to show more cracks and just emote more; even if she trulyisa sh*te actress, it would be preferable to a vapid pair of tits (and dragons).

That notwithstanding, I can see how her lack of qualifications (or anyone else's, for that matter) could lead to Tyrion's allusion to a more democratic system in place by the end.

this would have made the Arya/Sansa **** make a bit more sense

cliffs:

- they were really going to kill each other
- Sansa decides to go to Bran to make sure she's making the right move since he knows everything
- he tells her what little finger has been doing (and would have said nothing if she didn't ask)
- Sansa tells Arya and says she'll let Arya kill him
cue the scene we get

instead they cut all that
For f**k's sake,WHY!?It would have taken, like, 2 minutes:
“We actually did a scene that clearly got cut, a short scene with Sansa where she knocks on Bran’s door and says, ‘I need your help,’ or something along those lines,” Isaac Hampstead-Wright, who plays Bran on the show, says. “So basically, as far as I know, the story was that it suddenly occurred to Sansa that she had a huge CCTV department at her discretion and it might be a good idea to check with him first before she guts her own sister. So she goes to Bran, and Bran tells her everything she needs to know, and she’s like, ‘Oh, ****.’”
Instead, they doubled down on fake drama thatno onebloody thought was for real.

Are they taking that 70-75 hour goal down to a goddamnminuteor something?

I feel like what will happen is the walkers will be winning and we will have forgotten about euron. Then he comes just before snow dies and saves the day.
Unfortunately I feel like that's the reality at this juncture, and barring any Hail Mary HBO bargain to stretch out the final season, even elongated episodes won't be enough tofullyaddress all of the threads hanging on our minds. They certainly won't be able to dirty up the end gametoomuch because we can just look at season 7 and how the Winterfell plot was so out of place and disjointed when thrown into the middle of everything else going on.

I do think that Rogainebrah has a point about Cersei's baby coming to bite her in the ass - although I keep forgetting a good point I've heard before that we still aren'tone hundred percent surethat she's really pregnant. She's such a manipulative person that it's in her character to (1) use the idea of another child to hang Jaime along for all of her duplicitous actions and (2) get Tyrion to believe that she has some reason to put her own megalomania aside to fight with Daenerys and Jon. Hell, after her reveal of working with Euron behind Jaime's back, Euron might actually know the truth about a non-baby, although I personally doubt that she'd entrust a loudmouth like Euron withanyinformation about her realorfaked pregnancy.

Likewise, his ideas about them going full tongue-cutting and all sorts of dark would actually be a surprising change of pace.

Optimistically, if theyreallystretch out the episodes length, maybethey could add up to the equivalent of 10 episodes? All it takes is 100 minutes each, which fits in the 80-120 minute range when averaged, so it's at least possible.
I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine
My dark grave awaits, my fate is revealed - But I'm not afraid to die

If Sansa can just go ask bran about what's going on with little finger and her sister, what's tonationanyone from asking about everything?

Hey bran. Who killed Joffrey?
Hey bran. Who is this prince guy coming to save us?

Iran like he knows everything but only if it helps the show.

I...I had a slightly different reason for liking her.

Spoiler!
uhh...ass, bewbs and face

But srs her journey has overall added a ton of value to the show. For example, the first 10 seconds of this video is my favorite shot of the whole season by far and probably the whole series. Not only because it's the first time we see her in S7, but there was alot of history behind her returning to Westeros - and it felt like genuine progression in the story and the character - for this person who grew up in Essos to finally return to the land her family ruled for centuries.

Hey and New Rockstars just dropped their breakdown finally. Check it out. They pointed out that if you are familiar with the story of Antony & Cleopatra, you might be in on how Cersei and Jaime's saga ends.

Yup he's been accused of being a cheap plot device. But his scene with Sam showed us that he only seeks visions of things he's heard about or has interest in. So it's not like he instantly downloaded every shred of evidence from time, he has to know where to look.
