Just bought a new apartment..lets try some positivity..

Completed today. 90 second commute, literally, main reason for buying. One bed, 4th floor with balcony (new balcony brah..). Whilst it's pretty new it does need a bit of decorating to my taste. Oh, and it's in the middle of a uni campus lol, young fluff everywhere. Will link some pics..

Way cheaper than renting, and not everyone is interested in maintaining and having large property.

Unaware of the distinction..

Yes, bought, internal front door type of deal. Gated parking is pretty cool. 8 miles from north London.

Normally in the US if you rent/lease it's called an apartment. If you buy and own the property it's a condo.

Short answer.. could have had one of these and some change:

https://www.lamborghini.com/en-en/mo...an-performante

Interest rate 1.69% that tracks the Bank of England base rate. Bit lower than it would be as had a good deposit from selling my previous jointly owned property

This. Dafuq are you talking about? I'm not claiming to be an expert in UK real estate, just did a quick google search. It sounds like you don't own this thing but you're renting it indefinitely? Not trolling, legit curiosity.

Right..here goes.. we don't use the word condo here. An apartment or 'flat' can be bought or rented monthly (usually 6 monthly agreement)

I've bought this, but you don't usually buy the freehold as you don't own the land the apartment is on (unlike a house). So I've effectively bought the lease to the flat for the next 160 years. Just like paying 160 years rent in advance

A condominium is literally an apartment complex in which the residents own the apartments.

Okay, so it sounds like a mortgage on a condo in the US. Did you have a downpayment?

And congrats, home ownership is cool until like 4 appliances go out in a week.

btw is it common for y'all to have microwaves in your place?
