Your account is only limited to $500 during the ICO. So you'll have to make another account or so to get 2k coins. That's even if you are able to grab some. I sent my BTC from an exchange and it went through. Though it was not recommended. I didn't know at the time.

I'm all for chasing pumps but no way I'm going after ethconnect. Not with a 10' pole. The only chance I might is if I get confirmation in this thread that they bought the coin and were able to safely get it to their wallet.

Honestly it really doesn't matter if its a scam if you are just looking to sell shortly after the ico. The hype is gonna last a while so we wont know if they took our money right away (i think). So if you are morally okay with it then you will make money. At least thats how I see it.

The reason this matters is because if they are not trying to set themselves apart from the scam sites then they are probably in with the other sites and they can later claim that they were scams sites at a later time.

Pretend they had nothing to do with the sites and move on with their other scam.

Coinbase/gdax is one of the largest exchanges in the world. Yes they are legit. Just use gdax w/your coinbase account for low fees.

This, honestly if I at least get some moon potential off the scam and get out before it falls apart. I'll be happy with the low risk money I put in. If it hits Bitconnect potential, we're looking at huge amounts of money.

Regarding not withdrawing your BTC, I've heard people have checked the Ethconnect and they do allow you to deposit and withdraw. If you couldn't withdraw your coin I'm sure it would never work.

So Coinbase will support B2X directly following the fork.

I mean that's the name of the game with alts right? Potential for fast insane gains overnight but also good possibility you will be ending up holding bags. If you just wanted steady long term gains you'd put everything in btc.

But some people need that thrill of fast money going up and down overnight. It is like blackjack to them. I get it, they need that rush. For me I don't need that kind of stress.

I dunno brahs I've gotten absolutely destroyed with my alts in the last month (wtc, omg, qtum, neo) but I still believe in the teams long terms so I have to stick it out. WTC and omg has been particularly frustrating but all I can say is if you believe in the team and the tech the price has to come up in the next cpl months. People say alts are risky and they def are but I still feel somewhat confident in my holdings just a big punch in the gut right now.

You dont seem to understand the point of alts, boasting about being 100% BTC is cool but buying some alts is the optimal strategy.

You buy alts with the intention of increasing your btc holdings under the assumption that BTC will be rising in the foreseeable future (atleast next year). Most alts are scams and no startup needs the kind of money that they generate to implement what they claim. However, there is a lot of hype and most investers in crypto (for now) are absolute morons that want to find the next pump.

So, you buy an alt that you deem undervalued (WTC at 1$ for example) and then ride the hype wave till you are satisfied (I get out at 2-3x with a large part of my holdings) and then invest into the next "undervalued" alt. This is a good strategy and has worked for me very well. I have FAR more money now than I would have had if I stayed in purely bitcoin.

The problem comes when morons get attached to their alts and decide to hold it for years because they "believe" in the product. Please understand that most alts are cash-grabs because you dont need HUNDREDS of MILLIONS to make a ****ing blockchain product.

When big bitcoin events are coming up, try to stay in btc because when btc wants to move alts will inevitably crash.

Cliffs:
1. Hedge your investments, keep a sizable portion in btc and play with alts on the rest.
2. When BTC is clearly going to move (due to forks etc) try to stay in BTC
3. Its not bad to sell at a loss, you dont have to hold till your coin becomes absolutely worthless. Selling at 10% loss and buying back when the same coin goes down to 50% is a very good move. You dont need to sink with your alt ship, there will be tons of other opportunities.
Fork the world up

I wouldnt bet the farm on bitcoin. If it ever crashes really hard, people will see it for what it really is. Just one big speculation machine that cant solve its scaling or infighting.

people are treating Bitcoin more as gold, I don't think the tech at this point is that important. It succeeds because it was the first, and it has a set amount of bitcoins that will ever be created. In that way people are using it to fight against Fiat inflation.
