This is completely irrelevant in a 2017 world where you no longer need a connections and cash to educate yourself, make bank, create income, etc. Literally anyone from any background can create content and product and go to market and sell it and create the financial freedoms to deliver all these "privileges" to their kids.
brb it's a privilege now that you didn't have chit parents. Having good parents shouldn't be so rare that it's a privilege, and why is it that only minorities have bad parents according to this vid? Why do ALL the white dudes have perfect parents?

Life is not fair but laws are fair
People have predispositions and some people are born in worst place than others but it doesn't mean you can't make it
Most Universities want to fill diversity quotas and financial aid is available so minorities always have a chance to make it to middle class at least

Another guilt trip by the left. Feel guilty for your parents staying together in a committed relationship. Feel guilty for your parents making a sound financial decision knowing that they can provide for you for 18 years. Feel guilty for earning a scholarship to college. Feel guilty for paying your cellphone bill ontime will working during school. Feel guilty for getting an internship with relevant job skills so you can get a decent job.
Privilege and basic decisions are getting confusing for people. Everyone is dealt a hand in life, and you can either fold or make up for the chitty hand you're dealt. If you're 25 and still living in poverty working dead end jobs, then maybe you should get out a mirror and look at who is to blame.
People that play the race and privilege card are simply the lazy and entitled with less determination to succeed and fear of failing.

Anytime someone talks about white privilege show them this 3 part scientific series that explains to them how ignorant they are of the world and how it came it be.
It actually quite fair why things are the way they are.
Its OK to be white.
People, if we are privileged, should learn from us and emulate us, not be jealous of and hate us.
The question is how can the rest of ppl catch up, not, how can we destroy the nice things in society white society built.

See my sig for a left wing proposal - namely woorker cooperatives, which is way that would distribute wealth more evenly in a business.Transforming corporations to worker cooperatives, or encouraging new business to adopt the worker cooperative model, would lead to a lowering of economic inequality. That proposal alone would help, without any raising of taxes.
"Apple has 98,000 employees and earned $39.5 billion after tax over the past year. If Apple was a worker cooperative, then each employee would’ve received a $403,000 dividend on top of their salaries. Even the lowest paid worker would’ve earned at least $403,000 in Apple as worker cooperative."

Even Steve Bannon (I'm going to guess you are right wing, like most of the misc) says that neoliberal capitalism has destroyed manufacturing and is destroying the middle class, and wants to implement nationalist capitalism, aka right wing economic nationalism.
Right Wing economist Ian Fletcher gives talks and writes books imploring the right to embrace protectionist capitalism, and agrees with Steve Bannon that free trade destroys manufacturing and the middle class.
(Despite what Libertarians say, the US has been protectionist in regards to manufacturing for the overwhelming majority of it's history.)

Nepotism, and intergenerational education and wealth creates advantages that people from low income, broken homes, and/or high crime areas don't have.
Rags to riches stories are the exception, not the rule. No country is a meritocracy, that's the lie that people are trying to highlight. Successful rags to riches stories are paraded by the MSM, but for every 1 person from a low income area and broken family who becomes a millionaire, there are a million people who die in similar circumstances to the one they were born into.

Dont hate on meritocracy, make it part of our nations goal.
And some people, will, in fact have hope and believe.
What the commie libs are trying to do is stamp out the advantage of "hope" that some kids got.
Doesn't have to penetrate all the masses, just needs to be an option for some, for the dreamers.
We want people to have big dreams, thats what made our country so saturated with greatness. Freedom and hopes and dreams breed quality individuals and show us a reason to lead a remarkable life. Our peers should celebrate greatness and thats our motivation to be great.
The commie libs are trying to crap on greatness and make it not be as cool to be an amazing person.

Sorry but if your teammates let the team down its not the fault of other relay teams in the race. Not your fault either of course, just means you had lousy teammates and you need to train harder and get faster to make up for it and pull a little closer to the leaders, so when you pass the baton to the next teammate (your son) he is closer to the lead and can try and get a little closer again before he passes the baton until your great great grandson actually wins the race.

I have a problem with people peddling the notion that we live in a meritocracy, because it's false.
What the commie libs are trying to do is stamp out the advantage of "hope" that some kids got.
Liberals aren't communists. The liberal 'we need more female CEOs!' mantra shows that, because communists don't want CEOs to exist.Liberals IMO are best described as economic neoliberals who want social welfare programs, or they want the Nordic model of capitalism (ie. Social Democracy). (IMO the Nordic Model/Social Democracy is the best form of capitalism.)

I think I get what you are saying, that hope of going from rags to riches has benefit. I believe it does for the exceptions who do, but the majority (like Steve Bannon and Ian Fletcher say) have inherited an economy where manufacturing has been destroyed, and the middle class are being squeezed. We want people to have big dreams, thats what made our country so saturated with greatness. Freedom and hopes and dreams breed quality individuals and show us a reason to lead a remarkable life. Our peers should celebrate greatness and thats our motivation to be great.

I think one of the reasons why Trump's campaign was successful (and why Bernies campaign was resonated with people, until he was screwed over) was because they were promoting economic populism. IMO Trump and Bernie's campaign shows that in the US the middle and working class are 'feeling the squeeze'.

The problem with your analogy of a relay race is that the other team are also improving, while you are improving.
Someone asked Thomas Sowell 'why haven't blacks caught up to whites', he replied 'because whites haven't stood still'.
Forget the race based nature of the above for a second, because it's true for anyone of a low income and broken home background vs someone having intergenerational wealth and a strong family.

YOU need to stop the poor performance and get your team back on track, in this case create a stable family, be a father figure and be a provider for your son, is that so difficult? already you have outperformed your team mates tenfold. The race is the same for everyone, its the same distance, same rules, same location. Stop blaming the race itself and get on with catching the leader.
A world where every single person being exactly equal is an utter pipe dream. Of course people are going to have different situations.

So if you succeed, stay married, love your children by giving them love and provide a better life then that is a privilege life. By that logic everyone should give up and Rot. Brb let's all be poverty as fuk. The video looks down on people who are successful due to others being born into less than ideal situation. Instead of working hard you say, it's not you fault instead blame others for being successful. Lol @ liberals

Whether you talk about the individual or the team, it's the same principle as the video.

It's not the same rules for everyone IRL. This is where the analogy breaks down...

Many rich and powerful people get away with things that the average person definitely could not.
Access to high priced lawyers means that you are far more likely to be found not guilty than someone who has a publicly appointed lawyer.

The idea that 'we all have to follow the same rules' is an illusion. Money and connections means you can bypass rules that the populace would have to follow.
There is no level playing field in reality, in regards to 'the rules' or where you start in the race.
A world where every single person being exactly equal is an utter pipe dream. Of course people are going to have different situations.
The playing field will never be level, but the goal (for economic populists, of the right and left) is to create more opportunities, and low economic inequality (not zero, low).

Maybe people ITT seem to think that to point out that advantages exist, is the same thing as trying to shame people who have advantages.
If I had to guess, somepeople (not necessarily you) probably feel ashamed, and then believe that was the intention.

The strong family, nepotism, and higher group average IQ are all advantages.
The people who immigrate for work tend to be 'unusual people', people people with a unusually strong level of 'grit' in their personality, in order to even want to completely move into a completely different culture.
The majority of humans on the planet will be born and die in the same country that the were born in.
(An example of immigrant Nepotism... Here in the UK it's well known by those who have worked with Polish people, Polish immigrants 'look out for' other polish immigrants in regards to jobs.)
