Maybe people ITT seem to think that to point out that advantages exist, is the same thing as trying to shame people who have advantages.
If I had to guess, somepeople (not necessarily you) probably feel ashamed, and then believe that was the intention.

Should we take the most "underprivileged" people out of this video, and pit them against people who were born in Syria? Let them know what privilege really is?

It's the mantra of many pro-capitalists (if you're not a millionaire, it's because you don't want to be).
It's a frequently expressed belief on the misc for example. Despite evidence to the contrary.

It's all relative.Though there are people in the US who grew up in poverty, and experienced serious violence or abuse as kids.

Really, everyone who is able to read this needs to realize how privileged they actually are.

I dont see the anger. Simple concept.
Kid A was born into a worst situation then Kid B. Kid A will have to work harder then Kid B to be successful.
Dude didnt even mention race in the video.

I agree. This will rustle US right wing miscers, but literally the other day my mother and I were talking about how grateful we were that we have a nationalized health care service - which the right wing of this country are trying to privitize gradually, kents. I had just watched a vid where a youtuber said she didn't want to call an ambulance after being hit by a car (not seriously, she fell hard on her arm though) she was in pain walking home but didn't want to incur the debt.
I can't tell you how foreign a concept it would be for anyone here in the UK not wanting to call, or go to the emergency services, because of the debt that would be incurred.
Privilege is all relative, like I said.
I grew up in poverty in London though, and when I've spoken to people where I currently live, they literally can't fathom anyone growing up in the UK in those conditions, because people don't in this location. It's all relative.

Everyone in that video is about 10,000 steps ahead of everyone not born in the US.
The difference between poor and rich in America is much smaller than the difference between American poor and non-American middle class. It's not about where you start, it's about your opportunities. Americans don't know what oppression is.

Also the US in some areas regarding quality of life is shocking (Compared to other developed nations, andconsidering the US has the largest economy in the world)...
"But while Americans spend enormously, they remain in relatively poor health. The US has fewer physicians, hospital beds, and psychiatric care beds than most other economically advanced countries, ranking towards the bottom in each of these parameters. The US is also the only advanced economy in the world not to have full health coverage of its population."
"Things aren’t better when it comes to mortality. Child mortality is higher in the US than any other advanced economy, and adult Americans also live shorter lives: Average US life expectancy is 78.8 years, nearly two years less than the OECD average. For comparison, Japan has the longest life expectancy in the OECD, at 83.7 years."
"In the US, early childhood education is attended by fewer children (55% versus an OECD average of 84% attendance), at an older age (four years old, versus three years old), and can be administered by untrained professionals. Most other high-income OECD countries have specific educator certification requirements.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the US fares just about average among OECD countries when it comes to basic literacy and problem solving skills. Advanced literacy (pdf, p.15) in the US is below the OECD average. Basic numeracy in the US is lower than in most other wealthy OECD nations."
"The US has the highest income inequality of all rich countries. Income inequality is calculated by the OECD combining several indexes, including a ratio of the income of the highest 10% and of the lowest 10%."
" In those aspects, the US fares pretty poorly: Deaths by assault are almost five times as high in the US as the OECD average (with the exception of Mexico)."

They are closely linked. The socioeconomic status of your family, is likely to be your socioeconomic status as an adult.
People from middle and upper class background make up most successful entrepreneurs.

We can just recognize them and be grateful, and not believe the myth that people are poor or rich purely due to the level of their personal effort (which is a quasi law of attraction belief).

And just LOL if you anyone thinks the middle class is somehow privileged. The elites are privileged as fuk and so are the people at the bottom. While the middle class foots the bill for everything.
