Can confirm. Got a membership when one opened up close to my house. Don’t go and can’t bother myself to go cancel it because it’s only $10 a month. Pure genius.

Their business model is actually to continue charging you months after you cancel your membership. They charged me 6 months after I closed mine. I didn't even notice the $20 being skimmed every month. When I tried to correct the issue and get a refund over the phone, they told me I was lying. I posted a 1 star review on the particular gyms ********, then they responded with "Come in and we'll resolve it."

I did consulting work for a large public supp company some years ago and the CEO made this guy look healthy. He'd also had two MI's. Yes, most are in it simply due to the biz opportunity vs giving a chit about what they sell. There are also supp companies owners who truly believe in what they do, and the $ secondary to their mission of supplying good products that may help people. I'm having dinner with the owner of such a company tonight. Yes, those are far more rare than the first dude sadly, but that's life.

Not saying he's likely to be healthy. He probably has all kinds of problems, and I doubt his dink works very well, but you can't just assume that based on his physique. There are many people his weight with no health problems, and he can probably afford to eat the cleanest, healthiest food. He probably just straight up eats too much of it. He's also like 50 years old, so you should probably cut him some slack.

Actually if you read the interview, it is kind of cool. He talks about how he started the gym with his brother, and the first time, they bought a Gold's Gym, and their gym failed. They got evicted, but didn't give up, and they tried again, and here they are now. If you guys would be less superficial about chit, you might realize you could learn a thing about business and perseverance from this dude.

Also, while planet fitness is kind of a joke when it comes to weight loss (which let's be honest, is the primary draw to get people into gyms even though exercise really isn't a great strategy for weight loss) or any amount of serious athletic training, it does get people up and moving, even if they are just walking on treadmills. It's a lot better than the couch.

Planet Fitness is a gimmick that's kinda the opposite gimmick of Crossfit.

They are prejudiced against actual lifters and chase them away. That gets people not actually interested in fitness to join, then they will quickly stop going, and still continue to pay the fee. In addition, upgrades and maintenance are minimal because the gym isn't used much.

Crossfit: That appeals to naive people who believe you have to blast everything out and that gym routines, equipment is stupid. So, they PAY to go to an empty place, burn out quickly, then stop going due to fatigue, injury, etc and blame themselves while still paying.

LOL, after 50 she should get some slack? Doc I work with is 67, he looks great and in better shape and health than most miscers, much less the founder of a PF. Per story above, another guy is 74. I aint no spring chicken myself....Your comments also suggest you don't science. I made no assumptions about him or said anything about his shape in the OP. Fact remains however obesity is a major risk factor for various cancers, CVD, diabetes, etc, etc. Statistically speaking, he's headed in a very bad direction, and that's a fact. I'd bet $ his fasting glucose, A1C, etc, are far from what you want to see in a healthy active man his age.

Again, anyone who ignores their health because they think $ can replace it, is an idiot.

It's a major risk factor (as in people with obesity are more likely to also have other diseases), but you aren't realizing that the vast majority of the obese do not have diabetes...or CVD...or any of the diseases you described. Just look at the statistics if you don't believe me. And he should get some slack for being over 50. Misrepresentation of Bayes' Theorem is the most disgusting trick people use to hate on people they don't like.

You mentioned the average healthy, active 50 year old, and you're right if you compare him to that. The average 50 year old, however, is neither healthy nor active. I would think you should compare him to the average 50 year old rather than the average healthy, active 50 year old, since that is holding him to the standards of something like 5% of men aged 50.

A good comparison, the other "opposite gimmick" of CF is it's also surprisingly expensive to run around doing chit that will lead to injuries for so many using cheap stuff to do it on. Paying that much also makes them feel "elite" I guess.

Please with the cope there. He's in chit shape, the end. It don't make him a bad person, but it is somewhat ironic he started what amounts to a gym that actively supports people who don't and will not go to the gym (like him apparently) as their profit model, vs a model that genuinely encourages people to improve their health, wellness, fitness, etc. A role model he aint.

The main reason framecels go for that pose is because it pushes the biceps out, making them look larger.

It's one of the oldest copes around.

A role model he aint.
it comes down to this. He saw the business opportunity and potential and took it. Kudos to him, but he is still a fat ****. I feel the same about overweight staffers at gyms. I get that it is a job, but i also dont see how envy wouldnt envelop their very soul when they see people coming in lioking great whole they still look like chewed bubblegum.
