Easy, just set a sell order for where you're comfortable with it dropping. It'll auto-execute, everyone's happy. If it goes the other way, you're safe.

They've done some pretty questionable things like booby trapping their "Open Source" code, and have admitted to doing so.

So tl;dr it's fast, it's good for IoT, and "Zero fees" via having to do PoW to connect to the network

Hey, so i've been tracking the several hundy i YOLO'd in the crypto game a few months ago, based on some reddit reading and some call-outs from some bois here in the ~vol1/2 thread...and needless to say it's been a hectic ride with lots of sick barrells and getting pitted along the way, so pitted. But now i seem to be doing pretty well...

But i'm not sure where i wanna go from here. I know i want some btc and eth, but unsure how to get there? i'm probably willing to dump in another 1k at some point soon, and thinking of getting rid of some alts that dont seem to be moving. But unsure of how i should approach.

Any thoughts from ya'll?

Gemini Brahs,

Did a quick google on how to do a wire transfer and what came up surprised me a bit. Many complaints about Gemini not depositing funds, or depositing weeks later, etc.

Didn't think too much of it as I know some of you here wire funds to Gemini.

Anywho, I attempted to complete a wire transfer online through Chase and they actually declined the transfer. Not only that, they suspended my online account and I had to go into a local branch with 2 forms of ID to reclaim my account lol. Initially I thought it was due to fraud concerns, but apparently it was the amount plus the fact that it was headed to Gemini. Guy was telling me they've had issues with their clients funds in the past with Gemini, then goes on to say how they're not regulated, etc and how I could be SOL if Gemini doesn't deposit, all of which I already knew.

Anybody here do wire transfers to Gemini from Chase? Or anyone have any issues in general wiring to Gemini?

This is incorrect. The hashing algorithm designed by the IOTA foundation (known as CURL-P) is lighter than Scrypt/SHA-256 etc. and doesn't require a rack of 50 GPU's to perform PoS - this is why IoT devices can actually use it. Also, in an IOTA transaction, there is no mining competition involved. With IOTA, the only work that is done is PoS to confirm your transaction (and your own CPU executes a portion of this). Therefore, the hashing power required at the specific time your transaction is executed is exactly what is required - no more, no less. In a Blockchain with a mineable coin like Bitcoin, hashing power is continuously added because there is a chance the miner will profit (and it benefits them to have more hashing power) and all miners are continuously alive. To execute a Bitcoin transaction requires about 26 kWh of energy, enough energy to power a 2 person household for a single day.

Tl;dr - there is still energy consumption, but not as bad as Bitcoin and many others.

This is definitely a possibility. It's one of the possibilities, not the only one. That would have them losing their BTC though, so it wouldn't be something they could do over and over, right?

I'm not 100% knowledgeable on futures, self admittedly.
