Bit coin futures next monday. RIP in peace bitcoin.
Currently there have even been heavy restriction from some places on withdrawing bitcoins. Thus it is buy buy buy and the price has skyrocketed. Give investors a way to short bitcoin and price will come back to reality.

This. Main reason why I'm staying out of bitcoin. Congrats to whoever profited on today's ridiculous bull run but I think it comes back to reality once futures hit nasdaq

Steam says FUK U BITCOIN

As of today, Steam will no longer support Bitcoin as a payment method on our platform due to high fees and volatility in the value of Bitcoin.

In the past few months we've seen an increase in the volatility in the value of Bitcoin and a significant increase in the fees to process transactions on the Bitcoin network. For example, transaction fees that are charged to the customer by the Bitcoin network have skyrocketed this year, topping out at close to $20 a transaction last week (compared to roughly $0.20 when we initially enabled Bitcoin). Unfortunately, Valve has no control over the amount of the fee. These fees result in unreasonably high costs for purchasing games when paying with Bitcoin. The high transaction fees cause even greater problems when the value of Bitcoin itself drops dramatically.

Historically, the value of Bitcoin has been volatile, but the degree of volatility has become extreme in the last few months, losing as much as 25% in value over a period of days. This creates a problem for customers trying to purchase games with Bitcoin. When checking out on Steam, a customer will transfer x amount of Bitcoin for the cost of the game, plus y amount of Bitcoin to cover the transaction fee charged by the Bitcoin network. The value of Bitcoin is only guaranteed for a certain period of time so if the transaction doesn’t complete within that window of time, then the amount of Bitcoin needed to cover the transaction can change. The amount it can change has been increasing recently to a point where it can be significantly different.

The normal resolution for this is to either refund the original payment to the user, or ask the user to transfer additional funds to cover the remaining balance. In both these cases, the user is hit with the Bitcoin network transaction fee again. This year, we’ve seen increasing number of customers get into this state. With the transaction fee being so high right now, it is not feasible to refund or ask the customer to transfer the missing balance (which itself runs the risk of underpayment again, depending on how much the value of Bitcoin changes while the Bitcoin network processes the additional transfer).

At this point, it has become untenable to support Bitcoin as a payment option. We may re-evaluate whether Bitcoin makes sense for us and for the Steam community at a later date.

We will continue working to resolve any pending issues for customers who are impacted by existing underpayments or transaction fees.

JPMorgan CEO Dimon was calling the market a bubble more overvalued than the tulip bulb craze in the 17th Century. “It won’t end well,” he said Barclays banking conference. “Someone is going to get killed.”

OP sell when you are feeling safe and if you have made a profit. When bitcoin starts to drop in price eventually - Those who purchased recently and new to crypto currencies will start losing their **** and start selling even if its at a 50% loss. And bitcoin will definitely crash. No doubt. This sort of price increase is not sustainable.

The skyrocketing value of Bitcoin is leading to soaring energy consumption. According to one widely cited website that tracks the subject, the Bitcoin network is consuming power at an annual rate of 32TWh—about as much as Denmark. By the site's calculations, each Bitcoin transaction consumes 250kWh, enough to power homes for nine days.

Naturally, this is leading to concerns about sustainability. Eric Holthaus, a writer for Grist, projects that, at current growth rates, the Bitcoin network will "use as much electricity as the entire world does today" by early 2020. "This is an unsustainable trajectory," he writes.
In before this is countered with a price quote of BTC at an all time high.

It's the best get rich quick scheme we will ever see in our lives.
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

Jamie dimon said this when it was $4000 per btc. Jakes on him. Meanwhile overstock and square have been blessed with investment capital for having an open mind.

Unless you sold some, you made nothing at all the past two days. And when someone big does sell you will lose the lot.

Yes your right but it really doesn't matter when i've bought all 27 at around $600, it's all profit at this point even if it consolidates like crazy but there are so many strong support levels along the way with people itching to get in, so I don't see a crash being possible. A healthy correction is perfectly fine/normal though. I along with other holders aren't even considering selling until probably $100k or so. Why struggle and beat your head against the wall when you can make your money work for you? Just so you can be an honest hardworking citizen??? Please man. Don't act so high and mighty, I also work 12 hour days for 4 months at a time but it's something I enjoy anyway.

If this is bigger than the dotcom bubble then there is still a 10x profit to make. Bitcoin market cap is at 200-300 bn USD range while the Nasdaq bubble was at 2 trillion+

One of the things that I would really be happy to is to see as a bitcoin investor is bitcoin in a bigger "bubble" than the dotcom bubble

let them come

I got in at 9000 when that was considered an ALL time high and now it's hovering at 15,000

Sold all I put in and bam 60-70% return in one fukkin week

I know it's a bubble fool but it hasn't popped yet

I'm happy for them, honestly. I just see it as a bubble, would you trust a currency that was created in 1998? I just don't see bit coin going main stream, or any other privately created Cryptos.

Lots of money to be made in the meantime, if you can tolerate the risk. Not my cup of tea, especially at these levels. Best case scenario at this point is a 6 bagger, worst case is probably a 80%-90% loss.

nocoincel spotted

futures haven't been blocked, and the US dollar is not backed by anything and hasn't been in years.

bitcoin is in a perpetual bubble, and it has popped many times before, but has always recovered and reached new all time highs.

don't be mad bro, trust me, there is A LOT more fuel in this current bubble, we will hit 40k minimum before it pops and could see as high as 100k. it's not too late for you.

edit: Idk how much you know about bitcoin history but for bitcoins current run to be equal to the 2013 bubble it experienced, it would have to be worth more than $60,000 TODAY. Again, this bubble has a lot of climbing to do before it pops

accurate analysis and I respect this opinion.

Bitcoin very likely will go down as the "Myspace" of cryptocurrency. The first big name but certainly not the future industry leader.

A lot of people have and will get very rich off of bitcoin, books and movies will be made about this time in history. But I doubt 5-10 years from now bitcoin is the industry leader in the cryptocurrency space.

proceed with caution.
