Face ID is pretty annoying, fails half the time unless I pick it up and hold it out towards me at a certain angle.

I'm seeing a common trend where people who don't like faceID seem to be the type of person whose phone is always on a table. When I hold it in my hand as you would when you were lounging on the couch or standing up I've rarely seen a failure.

maybe its just my paranoia about people breaking my phone on me from stupid chit, water, falls, drops etc. but my phone is never out and about on desks/tables etc and i don't particularly like checking it while its on the table for the world to read. but if I must I put the code in. takes .2 seconds.

full disclaimer I didn't pay for the X so its not like i'm defending my purchase, this was a standard work upgrade; so I have no "skin in the game"

see my first post further up where I basically said this, while I agree with you and that they are nitpicking more than anything, I have to accept that some people do have real problems with them so I guess they are valid criticisms, but are they "return" worthy complaints.. not even close. the headphone thing still rustles my jimjams because the ONLY concession I ever had to make was the AUX cord at a party if the speaker happens to be that old that it doesn't have bluetooth lol. and audiophile elitism is cringe, i can't tell the difference between FLAC and .mp4 and if I was that into that kind of quality I wouldn't store it on my iphone to begin with.

can concede the AUX cord/lack of headphone jack issue, no one wants to carry around the adapter just in case. my only hope is that it will force manufacturers to include bluetooth in their products, and that it will also improve bluetooth connectivity and efficiency because sometimes that sht is a fukin hassle

that feel when google's phone, the pixel 2, the "flagship" android phone:
1) removed the headphone jack. their dongle is 2x as big as apple's.
2) doesn't support wireless charging to compensate

With modern technology it really isn't that difficult for a manufacturer to make a phone that's essentially drop proof. No scratches/scuffs/cracked screen. The simple truth is creating a bomb proof phone just isn't as profitable as creating phones that get damaged easily.



Yes the Iphone can be aesthetic, take good pictures, has great quality, runs smooth, etc. But they crack so easily and apple chooses to cuck its user-base with the accessories.

Yea all those reason are obvious before even buying the phone, which is why I'm sticking with the iphone 6s for now until something worthwhile comes along. And the money I saved, I bought apple stock before the release of the iphone x, and now it's paying dividends

6s has a audio jack, touch id, and all metal housing....iphone x is a thousand dollar glass housed, emoji machine.

The X is sick. Much better camera than the 8, picture and video quality is improved, and the face ID will get better over time, both in updates, and to the fact that it will recognize your face as time progresses. It may be slightly overpriced, but if you like everything I just mentioned, it shouldn't hold you back from buying one. I'm going to be upgrading my 7 to one on the 15th once my company lets employees get one.
