I know a couple that went to Thailand for 2 months last year, they still post pictures of their trip on Instagram/******** every damn week with captions like "take me back" or "you've never lived unless you travel" its annoying af. It's like they only went so they can tell people they went

Define real history. Paris is pretty historical if you can step away from the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame.

Not really. The French completely destroyed and rebuilt Paris under Napoleon III (not to be mistaken with his short Uncle Napoleon I who invaded Russia). Most of the chit you see in Paris is only 150 years old and they only kept a handful of Medieval stuff like the Notre Dame.

If you want to see older stuff in Europe then you have to hit up the Italian Peninsula or specific cities in Southern / Central / Eastern Europe.

I'm planning a trip for next year, not sure where to yet though but it will probably be to a "poorer" country. For me, it's about wanting to have a good time and experience new things without totally bankrupting myself - my money can go further and I can still see and do stuff I can't at home.

Real history = relevant history for the world

Was Paris and Amsterdan that relevant to the world before, lets say, 1500?

Also, in Europe alone you have better places, more beautiful, safer (gl with moroccans in Amsterdan lol, no need to talk about France), cheaper and with more relevant history than those 2.

I agree mostly. I haven't been to Paris in 15 years. I can't even find any pictures of the place. It's not my favorite city I've visited by any means. I do like Amsterdam though. I've been there five times and had a great time each time. London is one of my top cities. Edinburgh, Scotland is probably my favorite though.

Lol or you could just face facts, come to London and see all of the relevant history of the civilised world in one place, at the heart of the Greatest Empire there will ever be.
