Plenty of military around the country/world alone on these holidays. Just had a suicide attempt a couple days ago, it was tough to respond to. Rough time for a lot of guy/girls but you just have to stay strong.

That's my point, mom and older brother basically act like children if you disagree with them, and I'm too old to be dealing with that.

**** like that was never gonna stop happening unless I came around and agreed and always went along with whatever they were trying to push.

But I'm still negging you for being a condescending prick.

I can count on one hand the number of people I've met in my life that seemed perfect and none of them had lives resembling that. I've met countless that seem like that ... and then you realize it is a facade.

Yep! I have maybe 2 or 3 friends that will at least text me on holidays, but the rest no so much. After college I quickly found out who were my real friends. It really does hurt since I did so much for them, but I had to get over it. Currently taking a break from cleaning and drinkin' a milk stout. Cheers!

Yeah my life with my ex looked pretty perfect on the outside too but it was an illusion.

My first reaction to seeing other "perfect" lives is to think they're not but what if it's a cope and there really are people living like that for real?
Would wife...

I think that there are some, but it's few and far between. This is why when I used to be on FB I stayed off of it during the holidays, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day etc. Just couldn't take it, even knowing it was most likely all fake happiness.

Same here op... I would love to be in Toronto today. I'm sitting in my apartment, the lone apartment above a business, in a town of 8,000+ people. Waiting to go to the gym before going to work from 8-6a just like last night. Family all in a different city. First Christmas in 6 years with no gf, first ever without family.. Don't know how FA's do it... I do have my pupper though so there's that. Merry Christmas op

Everyone's pretty much doing their own thing in my family. One sister and her husband are doing a road trip along the east coast, the other two sisters are 2k miles away with their boy friends and kids doing something.. I was supposed to go by my sister's earlier, but didn't feel up to the walking/train rides so i video called for a few mins. My nephew and niece were there tearing presents open lol. This is the first Xmas where I actually feel lonely and want some human contact. This weird empty feeling in my stomach.. What are these feels

Yep, just me and my dog chilling here yesterday and today. Gets a little depressing on Christmas, but bought myself a cherry apple crisp dessert thing to eat tonight and I'll watch "It's a Wonderful Life" and do some reading.

Home alone

Not in touch with any of my family anymore due to prior transgressions when I was younger. Can't make people love you.

Been with the family since yesterday night. Already can't wait to leave tonight and be by myself. Not that it's been bad with them or anything, I just really feel like being alone...
