Setup coinbase and binance and just bought

$1,100 in Ethereum
$900 in litecoin

Will use atleast half to buy alto, possibly TRX, XRP, and ICX and hold for a few months to see what happens

Don't know why I'm nervous? Guess it's time to pop my cherry and dive in. Maxed out the weekly $300 credit card limit and already have one litecoin, just sucks that it's gonna take 7-8 days before the rest clears through my checking account
I think it's a good idea to put some money in any of the big 3 and don't touch it, while saving some play money for alts.

Prices benefit in 2 ways. The first by demand from people that are buying up BTC for the free coin, which is normal. The second way BTC gets a boost is the value created from the free coins, which I'm sure most BTC holders will just dump and use their "free" money to buy back more BTC. The latter should be a concern whether you feel the forks are being created intentionally for this reason or not.

I have no Bitcoin on exchanges. How much do we need to have in there to benefit from the fork?

its 1:1. If you have .1 you get .1.

But honestly, this fork is nothing. This is not the same segwit2x fork that was talked about a few months ago. This one is a smaller group using the same name.

I was thinking the same thing. There was so much talk/debate on twitter, reddit, etc. in the weeks leading up to 2x in November but now you barely hear anyone talking about this one.

This. Add a third in that, due to the 1st point - increased demand

Got in during the summer before LTC rocket, I put in the same amount of usd as you put into LTC rn and I have more USD worth than your ETH and LTC combined.

so dont sweat money you invest, you can afford it right? so see what you can do, Lambo or even or bust

This lol. My first buy was at $2k. Was skeptical. Two weeks later I put down $10k. Now I don't even blink. They are just numbers on a screen to me now.

The hardest part is stop buying. I told myself I am finally done like 4 times already. This past week when it dipped, I bought more again.

I am not up to speed with all these new alts and icos like you guys are. I have just been buying btc, eth and ltc whenever I had some free cash or when there was a drop.

Aside from the recent dip, all three have been just going up almost every week. I wish I could be on the cutting edge gambling on exotic alts.

But I legit don't know which coins to pick. My indecisiveness has finally paid off for the first time in my life lol. Look at some alts that I wanted to go in on and they are all down.

The meme is real srs. Now whenever I want to buy something or spend money on a trip, I think to myself this could buy me x amount of coins.

I already cancelled a holiday trip I was going to take to buy more coins. A while back I was going to buy a new car but instead I bought more coins.

This has legit become an addiction.

high risk high reward

although I think that if you get a certain feeling about a coin you should invest in it

jumping on the trx hype train was a bad decision, but for example, the other day I simply got a positive gut feeling about PRL - checked out the exchange it's on, signed up and bought it - 4 days later I'm up 200%

One more coin I have a REALLY good gut feeling about is XRB - it's also getting listed on KuCoin in the next couple of days (not on any major exchanges right now but regardless it's mooning) - don't have any moneyz to dump into it RN but if you want to try your hands on some less-known altcoins, that would be my choice. Also, you can buy it directly for litecoins, they've set up a service for that (you can google it)
