That continues to keep pace behind "The Force Awakens" (about a 25% to 30%) and ahead of last year's "Star Wars" release, "Rogue One" (20% to 25%), but its steep 69% decline from the movie's $220 million opening weekend last week was historic.

They probably figured she'd do well in another nerdy production. Never saw the new Terminator though.

If the Han Solo film sucks I'll never pay to see a SW film again.
Lol @ Mark Hamill getting threatened by Disney and having to come out and pretend he liked the movie. A bigger LOL at the real cuck fans who are pretending that it's actually sincere and he liked the movie LOL.

Solo film will most likely be a terrible mess.
They hired the screenwriter of the best SW movie (Empire Strikes Back) as a co-writer, then hired the directors of two goofy comedies (LEGO movie and 21 Jump Street), then shot almost the whole movie, then they decided that it would be too goofy, fired the directors less than a year before the official release and hired Ron effin Howard to reshoot the whole thing. Don't get me wrong, I laughed my ass off at 21 Jump Street, but I really don't want a Solo movie with lame-ass Marvel jokes.
And that's the tip of the iceberg. The main actor is a terrible nobody (constant rumors about having to hire a trainer), and the whole production just reeks of Disney. Just check out the cast/crew shot. Terrible.

I'll defend Rogue One forever, that was a very good SW movie and one of my favorites. The new saga trilogy is a different story.

Hated it to the point I am boycotting Disney, will not be spending a dime on anything of theirs.
Kathleen Kennedy is to Star Wars what Palpatine was to the galaxy.

We still got that goofy Vader pun but oh well. That one was definitely for the 12 year olds that make up alot of SW fans. I would love an Obi-Wan film because I'm not really interested in watching a Disney XD program to learn his backstory.

I'm too old to worry about liberal agendas in movies so I didn't have any issues on that front watching it though reading the OP i did chuckle at that type of recap.
Overall I enjoyed the movie(I think some of you *******s put take this misc thing too seriously IRL), it did feel a bit too long and I could've done without some scenes but thought it was entertaining overall.
My biggest issue with it was there was no continuity for some major things from the first movie.
I liked that there was intrigue from the first movie about who Snoke was - apparently it doesn't fuking matter since he's dead now and it also leaves Emo Ren as the big bad? I don't buy it at all.
I didn't mind that Rey was so over powered in the first movie because they made it seem like she was someone special and was a very strong force user and had possible training - apparently she's a nobody and just a force user
That pissed me off that this director chose to go that route because it makes The Force Awakens a much chittier movie. Now Rey taking on Kylo Ren even though he was injured seems like total BS since she doesn't have some higher power background.
I understand Disney wants to milk the chit out of Star Wars so they want to eliminate the whole Skywalker bloodline and make it that anyone can use the force but who's going to teach them? Kylo Ren for the Sith and Rey for the Jedi?
I'm hoping they're able to salvage some of this in the 3rd movie but while it was entertaining overall it definitely didn't sit well with those big fuk yous to the fanboys.
And really if Disney wanted to cash in on Star Wars and make movies every year they should've looked at the Old Republic stuff. There is a ton of awesome material there to chose from.

Read an interesting review on this movie, suggesting it’s a commentary on how pathetic millennials are. Very interesting:
Rian Johnson has been getting a lot of heat from fans for his Star Wars debut, but I contend that he is one of the few culturally conscious writers and directors of contemporary film. The Last Jedi casts the entire Star Wars series in a new light: as an allegory for the suicidal millenarianism of late American empire.
No longer is there the will to live, let alone dominate, that we saw in both the Rebels and Empire of the original series. No more is there a desire to maintain institutions or crush one’s enemies in galactic conquest, as there was in the prequels. In the sequels, it is the weak who inherit the galaxy, if only because they didn't get the memo on the glories of suicide. All that is left for the living are pyrrhic battles over deep-seated ressentiment—played out in the ruins of ancient civilizations. Even the presumed villain, Snoke, turns out to be a paper tiger. Nothing is coherent anymore.
Where the audience is inclined to underestimate the ramshackle protagonists, they're right. While the narrative overtly chastises you for this presumption, with a series of 'gotcha' moments that reveal the supposed competence of Resistance, the truth is belied by the results of the Resistance's 'successes.' Each battle surpasses the last as a more egregious loss of life, yet is more often than not hailed as a victory with lots of back slapping.

Mark Hamill is pissed because he loses out on a big pay day for the next movie. Instead of ten million dollars he will get half a million to appear as a ghost for a minute lol. If he truly cared about his character he would of done something about that dumbass milk scene that was in the script, that he read before release.

everybody already said my complaints in here. As cookie cutter as TFA was this movie somehow managed to outdo it. All the lib PC agenda bs annoyed me, I tried looking past it to just enjoy the movie but couldn't.

A lot of fans on the star wars reddit are quit positive can't share those feelings i thought the snoke death scene was anti climatic i mean this is supposedly a good force user he gave kylo and rey the ability to face time but he can't sense the lightsiber sitting next to him? and now kylo is going to be the big bad villain for the third not really excited for that

Rey - No force training at all, but can do things with her mind and body in a day that it took previous characters multiple movies, limbs, and abuse to get down. The only time she EVER has any sort of adversity was in The Force Awakens where she is frozen by Kylo Ren. Besides that, show me another scene where she is in any sort of danger or doesn't come out victorious?
Kid with the broom - no training is necessary, you're just born with the force. No hard work, skill, training, or belief is necessary. Its like Oprah passing out that chit on her show...you get the force, you get to force, you get the force...
Kylo - whiny little bish who beats his "supreme leader" after just getting beat by a girl who just learned how to use the force 1 day before. A guy who was just put in his place right before that scene by Snoke effortlessly. But no, he throws a hissy fit, beats up his helmet, then just imagines killing Snoke and it happens. Then continues to go from hot to cold, good to bad throughout the entire movie.
Rose - accomplishes nothing the entire movie, but tries to lecture Finn (a former solider who was taken as a child to fight for the First Order and saw people murdered) on the dangers of child labor, capitolism, animal abuse, and "saving what you love" even though his sacrifice was about to save the lives of the only rebels left alive. Its the equivalent of a Starbucks barista telling a POW or medal of honor recipient the horrors of war and life.
Purple Hair aka Admiral Gender Studies - you can hold back your plan from all your troops, demean the one guy who saved all the rebels multiple times in Poe, fail and get a bunch of people killed, then have to sacrifice yourself to make up for your screw ups, and still end up being viewed as a "hero" in this movie.
Finn - the one time he was about to make an actual difference and sacrifice himself to save everyone and they rob him of it....for what? So he can be with the fat asian chick and continue to be the comic relief and bumbling fool in the next movie? Lets be realty, the only reason he fell in love with that girl in only a few hours is because they couldn't handle Finn being with Rey whose white.
Sister of rose - can breath in outer space while her ships doors are open
Poe - the one character that actually took risks and tried to be a hero and they de-masculinate him...moral of Disney's story? Don't take any risks and don't talk back to your incompetent leader in charge whose going to almost get you killed anyways.
Luke - fuarrrkkkkk, don't even want to go into that.
Yoda - you don't need any training or books to learn the force......WUT?
Leia - died in real life, but can't even give her the dignity to die in this movie.

Nothing is coherent anymore.

the politics of the movie aren't nearly as offensive as the chitty storytelling. there are too many gratuitous scenes that work against the narrative. the magic of the jedi and the force is handled poorly - it was a lot more convincing in the original movies when they didn't say too much about it or visualize it in these offputting literal ways (like when that chick is facetiming with the awkward boyfriend dude from Girls). In this movie 'the force' is a lazy narrative device that allows for some cool chit like lifting rocks, but as an audience we have no idea what is possible & what isn't so we have no reason to invest in any of the scenes.
it's kinda cool to see some things go wrong for the heroes of the movie, but then when things go right they come out of nowhere and with zero logic.
real talk though i wood bone the old hag with blue hair (lmao)

Entire NYPD should go on strike. You'll see then how quickly the mayor changes his tone.

3 days in and I'm still trying to digest wtf happened despite watching lots of rant reviews
edit: I just don't want to jump on the hate bandwagon, I like Star Wars
like the prequels with Phantom, Clone Wars...
I really liked them. The music, the fighting, Jango. I would EASILY be able to sit through a marathon of these...
but The Last Jedi... I dunno

Something that just donned on me.
....for those of you still undecided as to whether or not Rey is a "Mary-Sue" take this into consideration. Luke (under the training of Yoda) struggled to lift his x-wing out of a swamp, whereas Rey literally moves half of a mountain side (with no training whatsoever) to allow the resistance to escape.

My contribution to the zeitgeist:

And I'd do this to the movie:
This review described everything perfectly. I'd say its actually funnier and more entertaining than the actual movie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QJR...19GQo9CBzu5OyQ
Finally got around to watching this and holy hell thatwasperfection.
Comprehensive enough for anyone else who (1) doesn't want to willingly subject themselves to this cuckema, and (2) still wants some imagery/scenes to get the gist of things.
While Star Wars has never been hard sci-fi, it seems like so much of TLJ's plot seems to revolve around completely ignoringbasicscience, let alone common sense, which makes the idea that a group of fully-functional adults could have made this all the more astounding.
Spoiler!
How do they continue goinganywhereafter introducing the ability of small fighter crafts to completely wreck anything that they touch?
Why do droids even exist if they can't just suicide-pilot ships themselves, yet BB-8 can hotwire an enemy walker and go hardassmofo on everyone?
Whyarethere bombers in Star Wars? This is the first time that this actually became a real question because never before did any Star Wars movie or video game suggest that they were literally using gravity-reliant payloads.
Is the absence of air in the vacuum of space just not athinganymore? If you're just going to ignore theStarinStar Wars, why not just have every fight take place in the atmosphere of a planet if they're too damn lazy to take basic physical limitations human biology and physics into account?
Also, I think that his repeated likening ofThe Forceto The Gay perfectly captures just how f**king stupid the entire bloody idea has become at this point. It's probably the most undermining aspect of the entire series simply because it had become a stand-in for a deus ex superpower that anyone can whip out to piss in the other side's oatmeal, just so they can in turn make a dire situation into a Disney ending.
The Force is now literally a write-in for a character suddenly possessing plot and logic defying capabilities with absolutely zero training or preparation. We went from Lukejustmanaging to pull it together to concentrate his aim and destroy the Death Star, to everything between Mary Sue to Mary Poppins air bubbles. The Force is no different from some contrived X-men ass pull of a superpower, which can apply to anybody, meaning that nothing can ever be written without questioning why they didn't just Force-blank their way out of that mess this time when they did it before?
Forget the Superman effect - the force has no kryptonite, as evidenced by Snoke getting smoked by a stationery lightsaber while he was yapping about. It's now a deus ex machina wheelchair for when the writers slip out of the crutches that are the rest of their on-hand plot contrivances.
After reading just the basicwikipedia backstoryof the First Order's backstory and some thought, I honestly think that thisentire"new trilogy" would have been better off with a prequel. Which is to say, actually set everything up instead of fast forwardingpastthe tumultuous,game-changingcatalyst of Return of the Jedi's conclusion, andnotleave it to a Hollywood fanfic writer like JJ Abrams to soft reboot A New Hope by tossing the first three movies into a blender and ever-so-slightly rearranging the pieces into The Force Awakens.
Defense for TFA was already fundamentally flawed because every justification of its major failings fell back on thenextmovie, a.k.a.The Last Jedi, to actually explain each of the loose, bullsh*t strings that JJ Abrams created in the first place. Now courtesy of Rian Johnson, those loose strings are adrift somewhere in the Pacific Ocean for all we know after the Episode 9 crew got plastered on booze and ladyboys - presumably how they came up with the Rose character while dining on suckling pig - because they not only dived into the moviewithout any sort of plan, they apparently couldn't be arsed to even watch that prior film before trying to degrade itfurther.
Rian Johnson directed Looper, a time travel movie that turned into a bloodymessitself with sometotally-not-The-Force, psychic bullsh*t, so it's appropriate to say that what he did with The Last Jedi to The Force Awakens would be like Bruce Willis taking out a gun and shooting himself repeatedly in the dick just to shoot Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the balls. The latter movie's greatest accomplishment appears to be that it can retroactively make the prior film one enjoyable, and that was the movie that already ruined Han-goddamn-Solo by making him a whimsical, saccharine Disney character.

F**k you, JJ Abrams. The real Han Solo doesnt give a fukk about the Force, and you let him die after catching The Gay.
Holy sh*t... Midichloreans... Is the Force just space-AIDS?
Point being, this Star Wars soft reboot was on a rocky path before it even began because they skipped overallof the setup that theoriginalmovies left open enough to worksomethingout of that could theoretically be molded into a future series. Andifthey had to dredge up the trying-to-rest-in-peace ashes of this movie, they willfully ignored every possible idea that could have at least made the ride somewhat interesting, albeit still unnecessary, and apparently without a shred of shame or dignity.
The best thing that everyone between genuine fans of the original Star Wars movies to the most spiteful, Star Trek loyalists (or y'know, anyone who plain doesn't like Star Wars) can do is to give ream this film and Disney a new arse until they are willing to actually bother putting out quality instead of the annual quantity of sh*te they have planned, becauseyeah, we can look forward to this sh*t sandwichevery bloody year until the end of timenow.

And he probablyknowsthat they're going to drag him out for Force Ghost stunts until he's in his grave.
If that's true they should seriously consider just shelving the whole damn thing. If it's also garbage it will do even more serious damage to the Star Wars brand than TLJ.
Why in the hell is young Jack Torrance from The Shining standing next to Chewbacca?
Seriously, they already wrote Old Han like a cringe compilation in TFA, and there isno waythat this "Young Han" movie will work. None. It's going to be the first ever, feature-length example of the Uncanny Valley in complete live-action.

People's brains will be too busy trying to figure out what the unholy abomination that they're watching evenisbefore they ever get a chance to wonder why their feeling a growing discomfort from their lower intestine, to duodenum, to stomach, boiling upwards into their throat and mouth. That feeling, that acidic pain that is rapidly surging through them, is what happens when a person's childhood gets f**ked so hard that it creates an event horizon that births the polar opposite of nostalgia.
