I remember well seeing the idiots fighting over a gallon of milk when I was in the NE and a major blizzard coming in.

Ah, so you know where a terror attack could happen and could not happen. That's neat.

And you never travel, well, that kinds sucks but to each their own.

I guess you are unaware of various items that are transported around the country by truck or rail car, and are also completely unaware that an area could be evacuated as a result of a spill/accident/crash/release of a dangerous material. Just one of many possibilities.

I'm in LA and normal traffic alone sometimes take 2h to drive 25 miles. God forbids we actually got 24h advance notice for some sort of disaster or attack. Probably easier to bike until you get to the mountains than to get stuck in traffic driving 5 mph out of here.

I don't want to be harsh but given how little effort it takes, I'm glad that I will be more likely to get out of here in one piece while naysayers are stranded in LA when we do get that big earthquake that's a few decades overdue.
If you have to walk anywhere feet are damn important, a good pair of dry socks and shoes/boots could be a really big deal to have. Anybody that has so much as gone hiking and had their feet soaked will know this

There's a difference between being paranoid and being prepared. Just because I don't have a BOB means I'm not prepared...

At the very least you are extremely amusing. So far ITT I've heard EMP Attacks, Toxic Attacks, and Solar Flares.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for those and I'll also add Alien Attacks, Dinosaur Zombies, and Normal Zombies to the list.

Also you didn't answer my question about Central PA in terms of a natural disaster...it's because you can't. If there was a spill/accident/crash people could just stay in their homes or go to a friends.

Just lol people calling other people 'preppers' for having a Bug out bag and spare extra mags.

People dont know that in the mid 1800s a solar coronal mass ejection (CME) occurred that was so powerful, if it happened today it would permanently shut down power grids.

if that would happen i would want to be away from society as fast as possible. I wouldabsolutely notwant to rely on FEMA or big government to make life decisions for me, as to how much i eat, what i have, what i have to give up (ie weapons, surplus food)

I find it amusing how putting some basic things that I already own for camping or hiking into a bag equates to SHTF Zombie paranoia. It's just common sense and takes almost zero effort to do.

The real point is that there's no reason NOT to do it.

Hopefully if something natural, meteorological or whatever happens we will have on less dip chit in this world to worry about. If you have kids do you take spare diapers/wipes in the car or do you just expect your 2-3 yr old to hold it until you finish the 6 hour drive. You're a fuking idiot, we are using random variables it's a bag if anything out of the ordinary happens and no way is it being a prepper it's called be ready. When was the last time you checked the donut in your trunk I say donut as I know you don't have a full tire in there as you're against prepping for unlikely scenarios.

Oh I dunno considering under my username it says “HUNT, FISH, RIDE” I’d imagine I’d grab my 9mm, compression sleeping bag, a hunting knife, etc...then hop on my quad and ride while wearing a gas mask. Obviously avoiding all major roadways because of the toxic spills. Then I’d duck into an underground cave to avoid the EMP Blast and ensure my electronics worked properly. From there I’d probably head out into the wilderness on my own making sure to have extra socks.

I was just laughing because it's actually useful and not something anyone would think to have. I haven't transcended to the level of "prepper" to attempt to run out of LA yet (though I can run for 10 miles without stopping so I'm sure that would help if it comes to it), and even I have decent hiking shoes and steel toed shoes just in case.

lol fukking idiots. What's so hard to understand about preparing for the worst? Even if the bag doesn't raise your survival % by 50%, it will at least help 1% and that's alot in the worst case for you and your family.

lol hard @ *******s who argue about the bag being pointless, it is more useful than having nothing. If you don't have this kind of things prepared, you will be the first one to die in bad scenario.

Op just warning about miscers to be prepared if you have to survived outside. I thought those were common sense, guess not..........

they frac a ton in that area, I used to do it. Small mountain towns have definitely been given notice that an issue had happened. Nothing as crazy as an earthquake, but man made **** definitely can happen.
