Because of the windows CE OS you could download nes,,SNES,Sega genesis,Sega master system, and mame emulators and ROMs and play all those consoles games on the Dreamcast.
Yoiu could download mpeg and avi movies and burn them to a CD and watch them.
You could run Linux on it for study purposes.
The Dreamcast was truly revolutionary

In 2006/7 the first Crysis
That really just was unbelievable. Iโve never seen anything like it before. It was the biggest leap to the point Iโm sure that would still be stunning compared to 2018 level.
Also on the ps2, gran turismo 3 and ace combat 4 were mind blowing but not to the same degree

Honestly blew my mind when I first played it...

I haven't had an experience like that since. Graphics have of course evolved, but the scope of HALO blew my mind like nothing else, because I had never seen anything like it in a game.

Gamecube. I had a Dreamcast but I was PC gaming at the time, so I'd seen 3d games already. But I explicitly remember looking at magazine articles for Super Smash Bros Melee and Rogue Squardon and being blown away by the detail.

Def n64 and Mario or goldeneye. But it's funny now how snes graphics have aged so much better. N64 /ps1 can't even tell whats happening on the screen sometimes

Turok 2 is amost like an early PS2 game if you have the expansion pak and has MASSIVE levels, so it could work depending on the game type.

I still got old egm and gamepronmags back back then where games that were on Dreamcast and ps2 both even though the ps2 hardware was more powerful the Dreamcast versions constantly got higher reviews in graphics cause the Dreamcast was so easy to developo for cause of the windows OS and ps2 was considered worse the n64 to develop for I can't remember the the exact reason! Think it may have bee due to the duel processors and the OS.

battlefield bad company 2's ICE engine really blew me away once i went from a tube TV to a HD TV (and gonig from old style red yellow white connector to HDMI).
it unlocked so many extra visuals, it was quite amazing to me at the time.
BFBC2 did pretty much everything right as an online FPS, IMO it is the GOAT online shooter.
