How is this "for the culture" if it doesnt focus on them being black? Why are black liberals on twitter going nuts about how this movie is for them if the characters just happen to accidentally be black?

Are you guys even listening to how silly you sound?

Get out shouldnt have even been an example of a black movie, it should be an example of a white movie where: white characters are extremely racist towards black people
because there ARE roughly 4 categories of movies with predominantly black casts, and thats the whole point. If you know of more then i'd like to hear them.

How do movies with one or two black people fit in? are you guys counting that?

You make up ~13% of the American population, ~3.5% of the Canadian population, ~3.5% of the British population, ~1.6% of the Australian population.

I'm not being a dick, but how many "all black cast" movies do you think you need? The fact that no one wants to bring up is that blacks are actually OVER-REPRESENTED in American entertainment culture once you account music and sports. What happens is that people turn the TV on and see black celebrities everywhere, which gives a warped sense of just how significant the African American population is. Then when they don't see half of all actors as black, half of Oscar winners, etc. it makes it look like there is some discrimination going on when in reality blacks dominate in entertainment well above their actual population representation. Think about it; I'd estimate that at least 40-50% of all "stars" in music at any given time are black...yet they account for only ~13% of the general population.

There are significantly more Hispanics in America than blacks and they have far fewer Hollywood stars, zero "all Hispanic movies", etc, etc.

The "black stereotyping" isn't some unique experience. Every Italian-American themed movie revolves around what? Mafia.

I can see some cultural value in it. I still think this movie, much like most other superhero movies, is pretty retarded. The storyline and settings are so imaginary that I'm hardly able to enjoy a movie like this.

But its hard to deny that there is some value in kids having a superhero that looks like them around. That's pretty cool to an extend, but honestly its only of limited value. I'm from a chitty eastern euro country and the only time people from those places get portrayed is a drug dealer / human trafficking russian mafia type, but I don't see that as my culture being attacked. It's just a ****in movie mane, its just entertainment. Same thing here. Yes, having more black superheros may inspire a few kids here and there but it's not some sort of monumental cultural event. Its just a freakin action movie.

No it won't, why are they acting like the plate lip tribe will be just chilling with the long neck tribe and the scarification tribe? They tried too hard with this Africa thing. You can either be advanced, or tribal, I can't see a society being both, BRB super advanced tech, BRB deforming my lip with a huge ass plate.

I personally want to see this movie, but y'all need to understand: Disney movies, no matter what they are, will always get killer reviews from major critics. They fear the wrath of Disney too much to say anything otherwise; will literally get shut down. Disney does not fuk around.

he doesn't care/doesn't get it, he came here looking for an argument when there doesn't even have to be. this is a celebration of a movie with an all-black cast, one that isn't just about how "black" or "disenfranchised" they are, doing good with reviews. It also means the movie isn't about "white guilt" or "the evil white man". AND it's a blockbuster to boot... buts it's pretty clear who is here to pick a fight when there literally isn't one. this is good for everyone.

Noah was based in Africa, just Hollywood's version where everyone is white with brown dust on their face.

I may have missed your point, in that case can you rephrase what you were trying to say?
