Let's consider "stopping school shootings by banning guns".

1. You would have to outlaw all guns. No grandfathering, no allowing some guns will disallowing others, you'd have to ban them all.
2. You'd have to go and get them, and you'd have to use armed teams of police to do so, from every house and place of business in the country. Every single one. Since there's no gun registry, you'd have to literally search every building in the United States, and you still wouldn't get them all. You'd have to violate the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Amendment rights of every single American.
3. You'd have to shoot the people who resisted, who would number tens of thousands if not millions. All of them. If they numbered in the millions, you'd be dealing with a civil war.
4. After your civil war, with millions dead, atrocities surely committed, and our society literally in ashes, you'd have to put the pieces back together.

If you don't want to do all that, you have two alternatives:

1. Recognize that you live in a country with 300 mn people and 400 mn guns and accept that some of those 300 mn people are bad. Avoid creating large concentrations of defenseless victims by actually letting people be armed in public and/or having law enforcement where there are large concentrations of such defenseless people.

2. Stick your head in the sand on the issue and only take it out to cry about how America "needs" gun control.
repped.

This libtards never have a solution...dur hur just ban them.

Those who do not know history's mistakes are doomed to repeat them.

You clearly just don't know much of anything...bringing up 'throughout history' not realizing that most murders including mass murders in the literal millions have been, throughout history, committed by governments...yet you want to give government a force monopoly. Pathetic.

1.) this always happens in gun free zones. Know why? Because the killers know it’s shooting fish in a barrel and nobody will stop them. In places with a lot of concealed carriers, crimes don’t happen because criminals either don’t try or get stopped by a citizen. But it doesn’t fit the media’s narrative so it’s never in the news.
2.) the guy had mental health problems. It’s well documented and the authorities did nothing about it. Cause you can’t anymore because of feelz.
3.) it’s a mental health problem not a gun problem.
4.) we have something called the 2nd amendment. When do we start regulating free speech? Look at all the violence that has caused since the beginning of man.
5.) drugs are illegal and look how people don’t do drugs... o wait everyone does illegal drugs.
6.) gun deaths like this are extremely small compared to drug or car deaths for example. Yet people want to target the tool. Illogical reasoning based on emotions and not facts.
but bro all they needed was more gun free zone signs and the shooter would have for sure seen one.

If random people on the internet had the golden solution, it would already be in law.

These issues and solutions are complicated and you dont need to have a master place to know something needs to be done to help. You just need at least a peanut sized brain, which most gun nuts dont have apparently

Murder 100 people in order to take guns away and you'd start looking at civil war.

Probably not the first, second, or third time they have had to suppress such urges, knowing what a suspect had done

Ahh, there’s the hypocrisy that I doubt you can even see.

The 2nd amendment was created so that citizens can have the same stuff as the military. Back in the 1700s this was rifles. But now, guns are so regulated that we have nothing close to what the military has. Of course there’s limitations to this but the point is the 2nd has already been infringed upon far more then intended by the founding fathers. The amount of gun control we have already is illegal and unconstitutional.

So, the US is special and all the rest of human history does not apply here? THAT must be why we are so peaceful and safe, compared to throughout human history, despite having hundreds of millions of guns?

This. Kudos to them. They were calmly putting him in the vehicle and I was just raging looking at him. I’m sure he’ll get some sh*tty treatment when the cameras are off.

We should all just open carry six shooters like the wild west. Fuk all this AR chit. I'm pro gun but I'm starting to get tired of all these "assault rifle" mass shootings myself.

Would having a gun amnesty and stricter regulation help? I'm not talking about banning all guns but just make it a lot harder for unhinged people to get access.

What has been done in recent history to try and prevent people using guns to shoot up schools? Anything?

I'll admit I'm ignorant to current events in the US. I simply don't see guns at all in my country unless I see a police officer on the street.
Time flies like an arrow; Fruit flies like a banana.

Define "unhinged people", stipulate who decides what person is unhinged, how they decide, and what is then done

Let's see, what has been done...we put up signs kindly asking the homicidal psychos not to bring a gun with them which does serve to prevent the law abiding who might shoot back from being armed.

Ok, so we're already violating the beloved second amendment in favor of common sense. Great. Then what's the big deal about doing a bit more? The founding fathers never intended for crazy FA *******s to use those rights to kill children at school. I think they'll understand

Yes the US is special. It's been called the greatest nation to ever exist, in case you're unaware

But that doesnt mean we should see school shootings every month and take absolutely no action.

We should absolutely stop making schools criminal empowerment zones where there is virtually never anybody there to shoot back. You are right about that.

Amazing how all these shootings happen in "gun free" zones, isn't it? It's almost like people know where to go to get the biggest body count based on this

It is hard, have you tried buying a gun in places like california? You're very limited on what you can buy and it takes about a couple weeks to fully process the purchase IF you are clean... But all that still doesnt change people getting shot here every single day.

Lets just install a police office in every school, that would work.

But it's also ridiculous, and obviously not a solution most sane people want. We don't want our schools to be maximum security loaded with guns
