The post I quoted brought up looking at one single variable in one country to determine what to do in the other.

Both sides of the scale. Two way street. Whatever you want to call it.

If we're going to compare, we need to compare everything relevant, which will include defensive gun uses by private citizens, for sure.

I get the "legal defensive gun" argument. I'm 30 years old and have never needed to use a gun to defend myself. Hopefully I never do.

To say this country doesn't have a gun violence issue is as stupid as a libtard saying the archaic religion of peace isn't an issue in the middle East. At some point people need to wake up.

It's more like a comparision of every single civilized country, vs the USA.

And I agree we need to look at all factors, but you have to consider defensive gun uses are probably in response to violent gun threats. In other words, a lot defensive gun uses wouldnt even be necessary if we actually prevented evil and insane people from getting guns

Why does the average civilian need to own an assault rifle? I'm genuinely asking this question

Edit: and I'm not naive enough to think the US doesn't have major mental health issues with its civilians. But that's the reality of this situation. So how do you minimize this threat? It certainly isn't Prozac and therapy. It's limiting access to high caliber assault rifles capable of inflicting maximum damage in minimal time. Easy math here

Wake up to what? The fact that homicides, firearm homicides, and violent crime have been going down literally for decades? Like, we recently had the lowest violent crime rate in 50 ****ing years. Wake and and realize the mainstream media is feeding you bull**** and you're buying it hook, line, and sinker

But to think gun control would do anything is stupid. It's also stupid to think that ship hasn't sailed a LONG time ago.

No, a great many defensive gun uses are not in response to gun threats.

And no, disarming everybody (if you could even do that) would not stop the healthy fit young male that is the typical violent criminal from preying on others, either because the others are smaller/weaker or because the others are outnumbered. Samuel Colt's famous quote about guns making men equal is profoundly true.

Not really. History has proven that people are mostly for themselves and/or people close to them. Throw in religion and people will just cherry-pick or distort it to rationalize whatever vile chit they're doing.

Gun violence in Chicago is almost entirely criminals what does that have to do with normal people buying guns in lake county and such.

It's still 1 trigger pull = 1 bullet. I know "bump stock" is a scary term for the left now too, but it was always just a novelty for a select few to fool around with for fun. It's not accurate at all and it's not really much faster than a well-practiced shooter without one.

They are now banned in a few places, but it's just a bunch of posturing by the left. From a "slippery slope" argument standpoint, it makes sense that they should be legal. It's an accessory, not a firearm. However, in the real world we're already sliding down that slippery slope so not too many people care too much. They're not practical for anything other than being at the range and getting a feel for what it might be like to hip fire a fully automatic weapon. That's about all they're good for. If the Las Vegas POS didn't have a large crowd to shoot at, the bump stock would have been pointless. Once people scattered, it was pointless anyway.

http://thefederalist.com/2017/10/09/...egas-shooting/

EDIT - Oh yeah, they weren't $20 either. More like $100-$150. I think that alone made a lot of people avoid them. It's too much money to spend on something that's only fun to do once or twice. Better to spend that money on ammo or other more practical accesories.

"The Bowling Green Police Department responded to a shots fired call at 645 Pearl Street around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Through investigation, police say a verbal fight started at Club 110 for an unknown reason.

The people in the altercation became involved in a firefight in the club and outside parking lot.

When 13 News spoke with Bowling Green Police Department, they said four victims sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
