Whats the point in saying AR15s are illegal in Chicago when you can just drive 30 mins and go buy one anyways? Is it in illinois? Yes you can legally. What does that have to do witj i quoted? If you buy it in a shop you have to pass the same background you do in chicago?
Nothing is illegal about that. The typical libtard narrative is that someone can go to an more lax gun state and drive back to chicago w a gun. That is false

What "freedoms"? I refuse to accept that even you are so far down the rabbit hole that you can't see reason, no matter how much it punches in you in the face.
Its 2018 - if any of you still think people in the Western world may be oppressed by guns, and not economics, then please go check your and your families bank balance and finances and mortgages and loans and credit cards and how everyone prays no sickness ruins them financially, or how your kids will eventually have to decide of a college education and its attached debt is worth it.

Everything else aside, what I still don't get is why do schools not have metal detectors and security at the door? How did this not become a normal thing after Columbine?

just saw this on the news today....worse than columbine, fuking christ guys. I still remember when it happened in 8th grade, back in 99'. The shooter wont receive the punishment he deserves, that for sure. Life in prison or execution, both are far too simple.
Of course, times like this, the first discussion is gun control. Even before the bodies are taken out of the school we've got people complaining "you wont take my guns away" or "ban all auto/semi auto fire arms". Fukin' people have not no sympathy, they just jump on their personal agenda, immediately.
My GF is a teacher and they cant even get the money for the most basic of items, its pathetic.

I can not believe they allowed this kid to go into that school. Fukn bs, had him going to school with a clear plastic bag because they already were suspicious about the **** he might bring in. I'm going to become one of those parents where I'm going to go around screaming "something must be done" kinda funny but i'm serious. They need people that can be armed and ready to pull the trigger when needed, guarding schools.

I went to a city highschool for 2 years, they had metal detectors and security on every entrance...couldn't even sneak in a Girls Gone Wild DVD

Every time a shooting and every time a gun debate...
Guns aren't going anywhere in our lifetime. There will be a civil war first. The most the liberals can hope for is to restrict future sales of "assault weapons" and tax the gun industry out of existence. There are enough guns already on the streets to last until the earth melts.
A gun confiscation program wont happen...There would be street to street fighting that would make Ramadi and Fallujah look like a walk in the park. Guns and ammo would FLOW into the country from external sources to create a proxy war (Americas Vietnam version 2.0)
When we elected our local Sheriff I emailed both candidates and asked them if they would support citizen rights in the event laws were written to restrict and or remove the right to bear arms. One candidate wrote back and let me know he was an Army Ranger and if laws like that were ever enacted he would be in a fox hole with the citizens and the other candidate wrote back and said he fully supported gun owners rights and there wasn't a Sherriff in our state that wouldn't resist. My entire state would be locked and loaded.

How about we try something that is input in our DNA and our minds.
Let be ****ing nice to eachother. keep teaching our kids to be nice to others. See someone struggling ? ask them if you can help in some way. Im not saying anyone should be a super hero but take a step back and just think about that. we wont change the world or stop every shooting but we can drastically change the amount of times this happens. for example. you have a 19 year old son who is showing a lot of strange behavior and psychotic issues. he's not happy. he's a little off kilt. DONT BUY HIM ****ING GUNS BECAUSE IT MAKES HIM HAPPY !!! THEN JUST SEND HIM ON HIS WAY !!! ****ing stupid. so stupid. not to mention the most dangerous tool in this whole act, which is by far not a gun. it's the internet. i blame the internet more and more. too much hate, illegal and illicit content, and it's so readily available to find this information, along with others who share the same views and create/mold these menacing people. if you dont believe me, just look at the misc. Been here long enough to see our fair share of psychos because of the way people treat eachother on here.
just my opinion though. agree or not. thats fine. end of the day just be nice to one another. maybe that random person you affect will change their mind from killing your family or friends.

Because people aren't willing to deal with metal detectors and the security screening required for thatbecause school shootings are so rareAND because you'd have to have armed guards there to enforce the screening. Simply having an armed guard or two, maybe a uniform SRO and then allow faculty/teachers/staff to legally carry, would be so much better than what we have now, without the expense and hassle and why-do-we-need-this feels of going through metal detectors like you're going into a courthouse

And yes, obviously armed guards to enforce the screenings. I'm not against faculty carrying, but with how things are that's not going to happen.

When you think about it though are they really that strict?Oh...are you claiming that people who legally buy rifles in Crook county are a crime problem?

I really hope its Option A, because ignorance can be forgiven if its not malicious.
Here is a properly referenced piece of statistic:

Ok, so the amount of guns has indeed gone up.
However, this does not mean more people have more guns:

In fact, less and less households and individuals own guns, whic his a better correlation to the decrease in the gun homicide rate:

So what did we learn?
1. There are more guns in America
2. Very few people hold a lot of those guns
3. Gun ownership (both per household and per individual) is decreasing
4. ... as you mentioned ... so is gun homicide. Oh, what a coincidence.Less gun owners, less gun homicides.Funny how that works, eh?
