If someone says they are gonna do something they should give them 2 options. Psych evaluation followed by therapy or you go to jail. If you pick therapy and stop with going to therapy before they figure out what is going on you go to jail.

This has limited impact on the use of firearms in every other form of criminal activity which accounts for the majority of firearm related homcide -considering the supply of weapons in our country. Just not clear on what you're suggesting.
In the original context of our discussion, mass shootings, not the majority of gun crimes. No one is going to rob a circle-k with a suicide vest strapped on. If we call a spade a spade, yes, limited access to firearms probably would reduce the number of mass shootings, but that has many unintended consequences of it's own including infringing on personal liberty, protection, and the 2nd amendment to protect against tyranny.

Freedoms and liberty come with a cost. The cost of having personal responsibility. That we enjoy these freedoms, and we like to say we are responsible with them, but there are those who are evil, and are not responsible with them. They use those freedoms to take lives. So what's the solution? Take away EVERYONE's freedom for a false sense the security?

Instead, we should safe-guard those who cannot protect themselves until they themselves CAN protect themselves with whatever our freedoms can afford them. It is up to the individual to mitigate harm because other people do harmful things.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

You should go look through the history of mass shooters. Almost all have been democrats. BLM riots and police murders, what political orientation do they have? Riots and looting because a Republican won the presidency...who were they again? Just sayin'....you probably don't want to go there.

There is violence on both sides, it’s human nature. I’m sure if someone in your family was affected by something like this you’d change your mind, but for now you are the most stubborn person in this thread simply looking to argue.

Mr. Jereb also said Mr. Cruz had “trouble with a girl” and he believed the timing of the attack, carried out on Valentine’s Day, wasn’t a coincidence.

I literally just watched a video on ******** which was shot in one of the classrooms and showed one of the dead bodies.

Why?

First of all how prevalent were crimes before widespread use of cell-phones?

Were they THAT bad that landlines and pay phones weren't sufficient?

Secondly they're helping breed morons who are so disconnected with reality that they think it's OK to film a dead body.

(IMO it's VERY disrespectful how people film, take pictures etc. of dead bodies etc.)

Not only that but a recently deceased person, in all likelihood for the purpose of attention on social media.

How many crimes are committed while onlookers stand by idly but are making sure to record with their phones?

You sit here and record and plaster videos of these horrific things all over the internet and 2 things are going on:

1. No person who's normal in the head actually wants to see that.

2. It gives the murderers a sense of celebrity, which makes the crime that much more enticing for the next person.

not gonna lie.. i think its a huge advantage. cops can use the footage to get an inside look/ map of the place and get a better understanding of whats going on.

i mean chit.. if you saw a dead body in the room and then other kids unharmed/ talking and there was no shooting you'd assume he's not in the same area/ has moved on

An individual who received treatment for mental illness, was expelled from school presumably for violent behavior, posted disturbing things online on a public profile, easily managed to buy a semi-automatic weapon legally.

But... the problem = cell phones.

The obvious answer is to shame this sort of conduct, but we can't shame people anymore for fear of shame-shaming.

Cops are not going to get on social media to look for 'live' pictures or photos from inside and attempt to determine what's happening or where the shooter is based on that. They are going to go in and find him

We would in fact saves more lives and more 'childrens' lives by banning cell phones than any 'gun ban', because of the dozen or more teens that die every single day from texting and driving accidents

But it's not about savings lives

Obviously cell phones and technology aren’t going anywhere, but like I said earlier I do agree they play a role in events like this.
