I play classical guitar, and I did jazz guitar for a semester too. Right now, I would say radiohead is my favorite band, but Pink Floyd definitely comes close. In high school I really liked tool, but I’ve started to grow out of it a bit. Same goes for muse. Ummmm, who else.... I have about 8000 songs on my iTunes, but it’s on a flash drive at the moment. I like lots of progressive rock stuff, psychedelic rock. In some ways, I identify as a hippie, so lots of stuff in that realm. I don’t know if I could really pick one particular band to represent me though, other than radiohead. I went to a talking heads cover band two weeks ago.
I probably don’t have the energy to get back into lifting, but what I have been doing is a lot of running, and that helps.
Edit: lately, this is the song I haven’t been able to stop listening too

You're right, it does put a lot of pressure on them to depend on them for an optimistic lens on the world - That's why you need to have some base level of optimism yourself when you're single. Without that, not only are you going to have trouble meeting them but it could put a strain on the relationship, enough so that it has to be broken off and then you're back to square one.

Reminds me of George Carlin (who was a misanthrope) quote:
"You know what, I said it this way: when you're born in this world, you're given a ticket to the freak show. And when you're born in America, you're given a front row seat. And some of us get to sit there with notebooks. And I'm a notebook kind of guy: [pretends to be taking notes] "Oh, my God, did you see that? Did you see what he just did?..." And I watch the freak show, and I kept my notes, and I make up stuff about it, and I talk about the freaks. Andthe freaks are all humans, and they are all like me, and we are all the same. I'm not better, I'm not different, I'm just apart now. I'm separate, I'm over here, because I put myself out of the mix. I don't have a stake at the outcome. I'm not a cheerleader for a given outcome now."

I'm friendly and usually get along with everybody. So it's a routine to act decent and people are always grateful if you're being nice. Maybe try feeling less hate by forgiving them ? Probably your defence mechanism makes you a bit angry towards them...

No, i dont hate people. At the end of the day, people are for the most part good.
In a world where all the negative is put under a magnifying glass and all of the good just slides through the cracks, its easy to see why you would be unhappy with people. They can be cold, and i completely advise taking people w a grain of salt in every experience you have with them. Don’t be stupid when dealing with people, but also acknowledge all of the good that people do. So many things go unnoticed, so I highly advise focusing in the good.
I almost guarantee if you do the above, you will go days without seeing bad. Just avoid watching the news and form the viewpoint you want to see in the world bro.
I deal with 50-100 new people every day at work for the past 7 years. At the end of day, like 90% are good-hearted people. Some people are total douches, but honestly, after dealing with them, you know the problem is with them, and not you. At that point you can immediately subside the issues.
Cheers.

I've been really broken hearted myself and I have a hard time believing that males are genuine, just long blabla, but I know how OP feels and acts and what is the reaction of his own actions.

Your thread is honestly a bit childish. You mention 'hate' and later admit it may not be the right word, but you say at the same time your studies are going well, that you have hobbies, but then later (with WhirlWindTobias) that his post may be one of the most genuine forms of social interaction that you have had in a long time.
That is a major red flag. I mean, it is good that you are aware of your need for more significant social interaction, but part of that depends on you. Serious question: why is coming to this forum to post about it a good idea? Did you expect serious responses from people here on an issue that is this important to you? Theory: it's not that important to you, or you'd do some of the analysis I did above yourself, without worrying about whether or not you get negged on the Misc when you open up after you've done some of the work yourself.

I don’t quite follow what you’re trying to get at in the third paragraph. Also, studies aren’t going as well as they used to, but not terrible

I read a thread a while back that asked the question - Why do you feel superior to other people? My answer to that question is that I am aware of my surroundings.
I typically experience "hatred" for the masses when they are focused on their path through the universe and they don't care about the repercussions on others...
If people spend a LITTLE bit of effort realizing they are cog in a machine and not the single focus of the universe everything goes a little better for all of us...
