As far as mass and muscle bellies go you are completely wrong. Some people are just better off from the get go. Frame and test levels along with genetic disposition to build and hold more mass. Plus insertions, all of those things matter significantly.
Well, I guess that's my general point. These Yootoob fitness celeries all claim "natty" despite having a dry/perma-pumped look at all times. (Not that I watch them 24/7, but they maintain that "pump" even in street clothes well after workouts). I've had cyclists in gyms, for years, claim they weren't riding bikes but they kept that dry/pumped/capped delts look all day. I looked deflated when really lean, except during workouts and maybe the 15 minutes following it.

I think genetics matter, sure. People with a higher concentration of fast-twitch fibers tend to have a naturally greater propensity for explosive movements/strength, and, in theory, building muscle. I don't, however, believe it matters as much as people think with regard to bodybuilding. And I also, definitely, don't believe a word any sponsored "athlete" says. Guys use the "genetics" card to justify their bike riding in the same way fat people use the "metabolism" card to justify their obesity. It's a convenient excuse that fools most people. Someone with "good genetics" v "average" genetics is not going to be the difference between Jeff Seid (lol) and me.

I'm saying this as someone who spent much of his teens and early 20's sub 170lbs @ 6"2 - how often does someone walk past and is legitimately bigger than you? At my current size I walk past people and not only are 9/10 people noticeably smaller than me but I can tell I'm heavier built that most people too. I would love to be 210 - 225lbs but given how far I've come, if I never gained another pound I would be content with that. Managing to not look like an emaciated skeleton in my ******** pics is enough for me.

The average adult man is what, 5"8 - 5"9 and 170lbs? Nothing to worry about.

Ultimately id rather be 6"2 200lbs than 5"8 230. I have a mate who's 5"9 220lbs but a picture of us together? Yeah he has bigger arms but my shoulders are broader, my chest wider and obv i have height advantage... being tall counts.
Starting weight 130lbs
Current stats: 6"2, 210lbs.

The 8th and final rule: If this is your first night at Gym Club....... you have to squat.

Shame social media is so deceptive. Dudes on there looking huge but rarely disclose they're only 165-170 lbs.

ill agree with this 100% 13 months ago I was 349lbs im now down to 262. The process SUCKED and still does but it is so much easier now as I am used to the hunger and used to the better eating I DESPISE fast food and will actually get sick to my stomach if I cave in with the kids and eat it. seeing the gains physically is obviously not as easy as measurements are very inaccurate due to fat mass and water retention. I overcame this simply by utilizing a written log of every workout and utilizing stronglifts 5x5 and watching my increase in strength. Granted my physique is still nowhere near most or hardly all on here or where I want to be but I do get comments from others already (which is very reassuring). I still remember the first time I was in the gym and someone came and interrupted my routine to ask me for advise....still weird for that but thanks to reading on here I do feel rather informed and have recently joined in posting.

Most accurate thing I’ve ever heard. Currently 220-225lbs at 6’3 and feel pathetic. The day you start lifting is the day you are forever small.

Agreed.

Studies have shown that taking (the stuff) and NOT working out is > than natties. The study showed people who take the stuff + workout gained the most, those who took the stuff but didnt workout gained the 2nd most, and then natties that trained gained the 3rd most.

So, just lol @ those excuses.

Anyone who is around my height and higher bf% looks bigger. Because so many people these days are fat bonecels. I work at an office and i swear at least half the men there are well over 6ft and 30% bf. All these guys have the Big Cass physique but they dwarf me

Felt like a legit twig at my avis conditioning until I remembered what it was like to be 30lbs lighter.

I'm glad I see guys bigger than me all the time... it just keeps me chasing something. We're all gonna make it.

Genetics.

I am 6'2 205 lbs, very athletic built but not ripped I have to deal with fat genetics which really blows balls I workout 3 - 4 times a week and play football yet other people I know rarely workout eat like crap 24/7 yet are lean with abs.

Genetics genetics genetics is #1 #2 & #3 for how you look & how you will look once you start consuming more calories & putting muscle on.
