Let me start by agreeing with some of the posters in this thread - you are possibly the most annoying forum member I have come across in my time. There's nothing wrong with being positive, but over-doing anything makes you less effective. (You could better spread the positivity by toning it down).

By simply reading your signature, I'd guess you have a pretty strong left-leaning political perspective (LGBT gave it away). I strongly believe the thought system left leaning people employ makes them susceptible to depression - always blaming "others" and "systems" stacked against them.

Getting into politics and listening to right-wing speakers completely changed my life. You make your own decisions that affect where your life goes.

The best? In regards to size of the military and GDP size, then yes.

There are other nations that are far safer than the US.

In regards to violent crime rate, healthcare, prescription drug addiction, obesity, education, and GDP per capita, etc, it is does not rank highly. Many other countries beat the US in all of those categories. I have noticed throughout the years, that many Americans seem to be unaware of that or are brainwashed.

Kenny dude... From experience... I hope you aren't falling into the 'idealism/activism to cynicism/apathy conveyor belt', that seems to happen to a lot of people who are idealists/activists early on in life (it happened to me).

I eventually became a 'realistic optimist'... Income inequality, war, violent crime, mental illness, abuse, and poor parenting could stay a large part of the human experience for a long time to come, however there is always the potential for things to get significantly and rapidly (which IMO will probably be due to tech and medical innovations - like promising research showing the effectiveness of combining psychoactive substances with therapy).
