I think it's possible to be completely platonic friends IRL with the opposite sex, but very, very rare. I think it's more possible if you're not hanging out together, if you just text or something.

Never really understood why wanting to phuk someone means you can't be their friend.
Just because I'm sexually attracted to someone, means I can't be their friend?

One of my best friends is married (as am I). We are friends. I would absolutely bust in those walls if we both were single.

What a perfectly timed Post!

I'm seeing a FWB and she's like a ****en dood with a pusssie. Drinks, smokes, vapes, swears constantly. Acts like one of the guys. I spent 7 years after all the schooling was done in a work setting that was demanding and punishing. Work hours were consistently 80+ and many spirits were broken, repaired, and then only to be shattered again.

Silent agony was the hallmark of a survivor during that span of time and it had this ineffable effect on camaraderie. The closest people and the ones I was emotionally tied to were both men and women who underwent the same experience. Some of the women brought out a carnal need in me but many I spend time with alone now without the need to make it romantic.

A few were traditionally attractive, but when you've been through so much together, the basic desire of lust can be overwhelmed if you achieve a higher fulfillment.

I'll always want to phuck a girl if I find her attractive. Unfortunately I'm ugly and short and kinda taught myself to get used to the fact that it will be unrequited. Basically I have to remind myself that I'm just friends and nothing more. It's easier to befriend women who are clearly out of my league because I know I can't phuck them, though if it hurts too much I'll cut off the friendship.

I sort of experienced this with a guy in college who always hung around me. He told me he liked me, I told him I didn't like him but he just kept hanging around...finally I had to cut him off because I thought it was kinder...I didn't think he ever would have gone away on his own.
