The meet isn’t going to miss your $5. Remember, this is a hobby so the lifters are the ones paying a lot of money. $100 entry fee, $30 membership fee, equipment costs, travel, etc.

The meet director will be fine without you.

You weren't going to pay money anyway. You don't compete. You said yourself that no one cares about powerlifting

Tell me again why you're in here crying about this.

lol @ all the cope in the thread

- dude is strong as hell, squats 600+, we gonna call that cheating too?
- dude is fairly jacked, he isn't winning any physique or bodybuilding competitions but lol @ people saying he has no muscle, squats 600+, does not compute
- yes the arching is absurd, but its a moot point, it is perfectly legal in any legit competition, you guys care so much about powerlifting despite how much you hate it
- lol if you think they train like this all the time, these guys likely get their work in using more ROM then switch to their competition bench a few weeks before their meet
- plenty of stronger benchers in the 83 KG division although Noriega is a strong bencher
- A huge arch helps, but I don't think it's the be all end all in the highest level competition and it isn't really the norm

for reference:

Brett Gibbs - Same weight class

World record holder Yusuke Suzuki benches more than Noriega literally 33 lbs lighter AND in competition (looks like it is at least)

None of those guys have an insane bench arch

Ok, assuming it buffed his lift by 25%, if that is 455 lbs, then he should still be very capable of lifting 340+ lbs. Which is pretty sure more than majority of us here can do.
I just did 365 last week and there's no way I'd be able to do 455 at half ROM. Honestly I just don't see much benefit to the form at all.

raw powerlifting = wrist wraps, knee wraps or knee sleeves depending on division, belt.

Equipped powerlifting = wrist + knee wraps, belt, plus specialty single or muti ply lifting suits. Not a single equipped PLer has been shown or mentioned ITT. The guy in the OP is doing a raw bench press.

Dude is a strong, so don't know why anyone would argue about his numbers arch or no arch. And can't get mad about the rules because it is part of the sport itself.

No way I could arch my back and push even half those numbers. Would be jelly if he was over 5'11.
