Relax, just because I think a 35 year old going to Vegas wit da boiz like some 21 year old is a loser doesn't mean ****.
Going to vegas at any age isnt immature. If hes out getting fukked up every night at 35 yeah, thats immature but having a weekend with sime friends isnt a big deal at all and if hes 35 without a family hes most definitely well off enough to not have to worry about the financial aspect of it like someone his age with a family would. By 35 i do want kids but im 26 and theres no way in hell id want them now or any time in the forseeable future because i dont want to settle down and i dont want to deal with kids. Im not insecure about it in the slightest, i just think youre a hypocrite for saying you arent judging him and then calling him immature and selfish. Get off your moral high horse.

Also, I turn 25 this year and am looking forward to any changes in life and have plenty of satisfaction - IMO just starting my career/business venture. Sounds like you just want to settle down and peak through your offspring.

EDIT: looked at your profile and realized you are probably around my age but talk like you're 45 years old
Bro, not to be an arsehole, but you sound like a tool. Nobody cares about your physique, you're doing it for yourself. Its obvious that this is something going through your mind if you took the time to make a thread about it which shows some maturity. Good luck to you

If you think that having kids is a burden on your life and potential, you shouldn't take offense to someone saying that you would be a terrible parent - because its true. Its not for everyone, and if you look at kids as a detriment, please don't have them.

The thing is its not a detriment if youre at the right stage in life and thats what i see most people saying. If youre young, never got to figure life out for yourself, and arent ready to have kids you shouldn't because its going to hold you back and its going to prevent you from enjoying your younger years and its going to prevent you from pursuing a lot of opportunities you might come across. Having them in your early to mid 30s is a better choice for most people. Everyone i know who has them young is worse off than if they waited. For a woman late 20s and early 30s is fine, as a man i think its different becauae you dont really have a biological shelf life.

Yep, no problem with what you're saying. Usually by early 30's you've carved out your niche in life as far as career/finance goes so you've either made it or you're never gonna make it.

Most of the kids ITT are in their 20's, and most of them will change their views in their 30's. A life based around consumerism might sound fun but it's pretty empty if thats all your life is. You ever wonder why these hollywood studs have kids at 50? Men have biological clocks too.

men do have a biological clock but its not as small as a womans which is what i was getting at. Past 35 a woman is going to have a much harder time. And yeah, i dont think anyone is saying kids arent a good thing i just think most people want to make it and live life before they have kids. If you dont make it and dont find that niche and arent on the way to establishing yourself you shouldnt even think about having kids yet and anyone saying your selfish for being responsible and wanting to set your kid up for success is having them for selfish reasons and is being more immature than someone who wants to wait. it can be flipped around both ways. A kid shouldnt be something you have for your own fulfillment with no concern for their well being. I want my children to thrive.

I was never a fan of babies (Never wanted to hold one or talk to/show them any attention) and I never liked small children either. I've never particularly felt the desire to reproduce.

I think a lot of that is just guys wanting the stereotypical normal/ stable family life. And I do completely understand that. My only hang up on choosing that path is once you get married and have kids that's two things that are major factors in how you life will be lived, that are completely outside of your control.

The chances of a divorce and alimony/child support for 18 years is dependent on the female. Nothing you do can prevent that if she chooses to bail.

I absolutely love being a mom and my daughter isn’t holding me or my husband back from anything. I’m 26, my husband is 28, and our daughter is 2. We still workout every day (him at work & me once he gets home), travel (going to Cancun next month and she’s coming with us), & he’s almost done with his Master’s degree.

I would say the only thing we don’t do that others our age do is go to bars and party. We’re both past that phase anyways so it doesn’t feel like we’re missing out.

We planned our daughter so of course it was a huge blessing for us, but I can see how a baby might be a burden for some people if they aren’t ready or wanting kids.

If you want kids early on in life that is your business. You can argue that having kids doesn’t change your life but that’s complete fuking cope. As soon as you have a kid, your life is about them now, it’s no longer about you. There are many things you have to give up to be a great parent. Those things can and do provide joy to many people, as living for another can provide fulfillment that living for youself can’t. But that’s a decision you make to give it uo, choosing not to give it up and continue to he selfish in your 20’s and 30’s doesn’t mean you’re a loser. Wtf lol

I want to live a selfish lifestyle until i’m ready to dedicate my life to something other than myself. And I know i wont be ready for that until mid- late thirties so to do so anytime before that would be irresponsible and a diservice to my future child as I would want to be the best parent possible.

Just lmao @ looking down on single professional dudes in their 30’s still living a bachelor life. Mind your own business *******s

Again, what are these "things you have to give up"? What are these goals everyone brings up? I see pros/cons to having kids in 20s and 30s, but I don't understand all these vague visions of the future.

30 years is just around the corner for a mid20s guy. Most of us are not going to invent the next FB or Amazon, and most of us are not going to CEO 10k/day.

You never treated me wrong bro, and I didnt mean to project a victim vibe from my replies. There is nothing wrong with you choosing the lifestyle that makes you most happy, but there is also nothing wrong with people choosing to have a family at a young age. To each their own.

Goals as in establishing yourself in your career, building stronger relationships with people, gaining perspective on life and experiencing new things with nothing tying you down, giving yourself the freedom to make mistakes and learn from.them with nobody elses well being on the line, mastering your hobbies, building a physique, and enjoying your youth before you add kids into the mix. Just because your life sucks and you didnt choose to do any of those things doesnt mean other people dont want to. Adding kids into the equation adds a ton of extra stress, when youre already grinding there is no time for you to let off some steam if you have kids. I know this because i know quite a few people with kids. Everything they do they have to consider the child first and it impacts every decision they make.. Id rather be able to do my own thing and then be in the right mindset before i start that stage of my life. I dont see how thats so hard to grasp. Its not fukking rocket science.

Will rep on RC. Its about setting yourself up and being in the mindset to properly raise a child and make sure that child lives the best life possible. Youre not obligated to give up your life and have kids before youre ready because some random ******* did and thinks you should too.

You have to give up your time, money, and energy for kids. If any of those 3 do not work in your favor, you will have a much harder time making it. Also, not all of us who have this mindset are "party animals" like you might think. Actually I've never really partied like that in my life, make nearly six figures in my current position, have all the time in the world to develop myself, and don't plan on starting anything "family related" until at least mid 30s.

You are literally retarded.

What do you have to give up? You have another LIFE that is completely dependent on you to take care of them. Wtf do you mean “what do you have to give up”? Lmao. Don't even know if you people are trolling or not.

Up until a child goe to university ( and some would argue even after that) you worry about them, provide for them, sacrifice your time to be there for them and support them in their endeavors, put their needs above your own, how do people not understand this? You can’t just get up and decide to do whatever you want on any given day because there is another person that you MUST PROVIDE FOR?

Like speaking to a fuking brick wall.

Brb i’m not giving up anything because I love my child and sacrificing for them is what I want to do

Stfu. Doesn’t matter whether being a parent is what you’ve always wanted to be and that was always your dream, YOUR LIFE HAS CHANGED. YOU HAVE GIVEN UP THE ABILITY TO LIVE FOR YOURSELF.

Not sure if poor attempt at troll or my sarcasm radar is broke...

Just cause someone doesn't have kids doesn't mean they are immature nor an economic parasite. I'd venture to say that people who have kids early or unprepared are more likely to be parasitic.

Actually I've never really partied like that in my life, make nearly six figures in my current position, have all the time in the world to develop myself, and don't plan on starting anything until at least mid 30s.
I can see and agree with all these things although in terms of career there are plenty parents establishing themselves. Mastering hobbies, building a physique, building stronger relationships with people can be done with children. These are probably type A personalities though, and normal people may not handle it all.

Deadhead, your idea is centered with not being tied down/freedom. That's a very valid reason to put off children.

However, "enjoying your youth" if you're over 25....

Definitely not saying that people who choose not to have kids are immature or social/economic parasites.

I'm saying, within the context of this thread, that OP, who thinks kids will stop him from peaking, wants to:

1. get yucky wit da boiz in vegas @ 35
2. ride a motorcycle

is an immature parasite.
