What a moron. Only time my hand ever got stuck in my pocket was when I was trying to pull my phone out. Yeah, he looked like he was trying to pull something out.

It's always the same, they appear calm but just flat out ignore police orders, then get capped. Saw a couple dozen videos of the same thing the other day.

If a cop has me in his sights and my hand is in my pockets. I'm going to very calmly say I have nothing in my hands, and I'm going to slowly take them out, palms open, to show the officer, while slowly raising them high. Sudden movements do not mix with a trigger finger of any sort, twitchy or not.

I don't normally agree with these types of executions, but cops were right to take action on this one. Dude made a questionable move. I have a question for you misc brahs tho.

When there are 3+ cops surrounding a criminal why do they immediately go for fatal shots without even seeing a weapon? I understand officers need to protect themselves but there's 3 officers with guns already drawn. Can they not aim for shoulders/arms/legs or setup a taser shot? The cops already had their weapons drawn and the kid had nothing aimed at them from the video. It wasn't even clear if he was armed or not. From the articles I found, kid only had a screwdriver. Officers are supposed to be trained to handle situations like this instead of just fear for their lives and shoot to kill in every questionable situation. That's what a civilian would do.

Before the misc tears me a new one, I'm not saying the kid didn't **** up. Clearly he ****ed up by not following any instructions given to him. But you're telling me 3 of our trained officers of the law needed to be afraid of some 17 year old with no drawn firearm while they all had their guns pointed at him? From the video the cop on the right was plenty close to shoot his taser at the kid and be done with the whole situation.

A lot of you bruhs say you'd do the same thing and I understand that, you're civilians. I always thought cops are supposed to be better than that though and learn to de-escalate situations. Even if the criminal isn't compliant.

Would like serious replies please.

because the next time when a guy has a gun the cop might end up dead, going for a leg while the other guy shoots to kill the cop.. plus people with blades can still sometimes close and deliver a fatal blow even after taking shots, especially if on drugs

Always shoot to kill. If they tried to shoot his leg, too many unknowns open up. What if they miss and kill him anyway? What if they shoot a majory artery and he bleeds out? What if they shot his spine and he ends up paralyzed? What if he is still able to take out a gun and shoot an officer? Its just too difficult to shoot to disarm.

Far from it. Look at my post above. I’ve taken so many damn test and I’ve been Centrist almost every time. I feel like I lean more conservative though and on most of these shooting threads, I almost always go with the cops because it’s always some sketchy **** that goes on and after we get the perps records...we’ll you know. I’m implying fastback(like many others) was using this thread and the overwhelming responses against the black perp to take a jab at blacks.

It doesn't matter how many cops there are, they have to protect themselves... and each other. Shooting someone in the arm, shoulder, etc isn't a guarantee to stop the person. Neither is a taser, frankly. Plenty of times people, especially when they're on drugs, can take a bullet or two or a taser, and move forward still.

It wasn't clear he was armed or not, but the cops don't know that. You break into someone's house, it's reasonable to think you're armed and dangerous.
