LOL, I have been negged a few times on here for not siding with the police, but this case is pretty clearcut.
Definitely agree with this. If you break into someone's home, you should expect them to, and they should have the right to, use all force available to neutralize the threat.

I mean he put himself in such a bad position by doing something so stupid, but when they're yelling at you furiously to take your hands out of your pockets and you do, you shouldn't be shot dead.

Did the guy even have a gun ? I’m with you ,as I don’t know how he could show his hand . As soon as he brings his hand out of his pocket , there going to shoot regardless .

It's true, he should have had both hands out immediately. I just don't understand how a lot of these cops don't know how to de-escalate. They're just amping themselves up and amping the perp up too as a result. I mean they both have their guns out and pointed, they're in a pretty advantageous position as is.

Why not just ask him to leave his other hand in his pocket then? Or ask him to slowly remove it in a more calm manner so that you aren't getting the guy nervous and coercing him into removing his hand too quickly.

And there’s many videos showing similar scenarios when it comes to reaching . Like when that guy was asked for his drivers license ,and when he reaches for it the cop shots the crap out of him . I don’t know what the answer is . I guess have your drivers licence and registration in hand when they come to the window?

My old boss was robbed and raped at gunpoint by home invaders. She's scarred for life but now owns multiple guns and wouldn't hesitate to shoot if necessary.

Nah, that was a weird situation. It was an enclosed area and the cop didnt' really have a clear view of the thief's whole body. Dude looked like he was reaching for something the way he had one hand up and the other in that pocket. It could have gone another way, but this is the way it went down. That cop had to make a decision, and the thief shouldn't have made him do that. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Why not just not break into people's houses, then you can be alive to listen to rap music and smoke loud pack with your homies?

Close to one of the worst crimes I think there is . I think it should be a death sentence breaking into someone’s home . I couldn’t imagine how horrific it would be when a stranger with bad intentions has broken into your home .

I agree with you but it's also easy to say you'd stay cool, calm and collected in the situation.

Think about how many cops are ever in that type of situation even one time, let alone multiple times, let alone enough times that you'd feel comfortable.

The answer there is basically none, 99.999% of people in that situation are gonna have so much adrenaline pumping in that moment they're gonna be thinking "kill or be killed".

Personally if I were a police officer I'd look at it like this- I'm gonna kill you before I let you fire off a shot.

My rational is this- I'll be damned if you're gonna infringe on my quality of life because I was doing my job.

If you let him get off even that one shot obviously there's the chance it kills you, but aside from that say it hits you in the spine and your paralyzed, or in the leg and you walk with a limp for the rest of your life, etc.

Would you want the quality of your life ruined because you decided to "play it safe"?

That's a "no" from me, not trying to risk dying or being ****ed up/invalid for the rest of my life, to spare a criminal.

If in the process of incapacitating you (in the name of preserving my health) I end up killing you, so be it.

At the end of the day the cops aren't being called to scene because you were helping an old lady with her groceries, they're responding to crime and for the sake of their safety they have to assume that person/people aren't concerned with the constraints of right vs. wrong.

that did look like a grab, it's tough when you've already got your hands in your pockets though - i'm willing to bet that any motion out of your pocket is going to look like you're pulling a gun out to an adrenaline filled cop. looks like there are shades of gray either side, but anyone saying that the cop is racist is probably on the spectrum.
