I normally don't side with the police in incidents like these, but this time they were definitely justified.

you just don't see the bodycam footage of homeowners shooting badguys. I know I don't wear one and I am armed.

It ain’t a fukin raccoon in your garage, it’s an adult criminal.

Trap and release in to the wild doesn’t seem like the best route.

On the one hand, yes, clearly the police were trigger happy, but on the other, this guy is clearly trash and is probably just going to be a liability for the rest of his sad years. Well, would have been.

Yeah, homeowners should just run and hide when they re being victimized. Maybe somebody shouldn't be breaking into homes, seeing as they probably aren't there to surprise clean the house or walk the dog. The cops were there to remove and arrest the guy, yet the guy didn't comply with simple instructions and was behaving in a threatening manner... thus he pretty much got himself killed with his stupidity. And no, I'm not fazed by some scumbags death. If he wasn't breaking into homes, he would still be alive. I have no sympathy for people who prey on others.

Nah, that ain't trigger happy. That is a closed in situation with limited visibility, and they were dealing with a home invader who refused to remove his hand from his pocket. Police made the right decision.

Here's an idea that might seem crazy - don't break into peoples' homes. I know, I know - sounds extreme, but I've somehow managed to never do it.

if we had that mentality in the E.R then lots of people would be dead. It doesn't matter whether its a botched suicide, a gang shooting, accidental, or whatever, we treat them all. So in your scenario lets say he lives and they bring him to the E.R, should we care for him or not? What if its a guy who tried to kill himself, do we care for him or not? what if it was a stupid idiot who tried a stunt and now he is almost dying, do we care for him or not?

Are you done virtue signaling? Other than making sure everyone knows you work in the ED, your response served no purpose and didn't relate to his post at all.

virtue signaling? Is that the new category of discrediting, like anti-semetic?

Its the idea that a human being having been killed has no ill effect on people here and the cognitive dissonance is that he is a criminal who asked for it. So I need to understand what other levels of professionals don't need to give a hoot if the person asked for it, if they say those other people need to give a hoot then the cognitive dissonance removing the humanity from the person is them being a criminal. The effects of slavery and post racial lynchings has caused many people to not give a damn about someone dying like they should. If that was a Labrador or some house dog that acted aggressively and the police went in to get it and it attack "forcing" them to kill, people would be asking for other means of retrieval for the trapped animal. It really bothers me that killing comes so easy and societies acceptance of a kill comes just as easily.

If a criminal broke into your hospital at night while you were in the janitorial closet filling your mop bucket with water, and you felt that your life was in danger, and he didn't follow police orders, and he appeared to be reaching for something, would you tell the police "please don't shoot! This is a hospital and we save lives here!"?

Are you saying this criminal was no more capable of behaving properly and following police commands than a stray dog?

Post racial lynchings? You mean criminals caught by police acting erratically and not following very clear commands?

Idiots like you attaching racism to every f*cking thing that happens to a black person is an insult to those that had to endure real racism.

Posted this in the other thread, figured I would leave it here as well.

Here's his hands clearly out of his pocket, then going into his pocket (2:47-2:49ish)

Here's him with his hand still in pocket (arm is straight) (2:50ish)

Here's him with his hand reaching up and something is in it (the screwdriver) (2:52)

And here's where he was putting his hand back towards his pocket again (notice hand is not visible) and got shot (muzzle flash) (2:53)

The cops should have waited until he produced a deadly weapon from his non-visible hand and only then should they have shot towards him, but instead of shooting the criminal, they should have just shot the weapon out of his hand..... or if it was a gun the perp had, they should have shot their bullet directly into the barrel of the perps gun so that it would jam his gun so he couldn't shoot it anymore.

I've seen alot of crime shows and movies so I know a thing or two about police work.

what is real racism and what is the difference between children of those who endured and you? Think about it, if you walked into a situation where some guy punched another guys mother or baby and he was getting stomped, there is a point where you will jump in and say enough, let him go, and even if you don't you will not cheer the stomping of the person to death. I don't understand why people on here cheer someones death, its not something to cheer for.

I understand that things could have gone either way, but my problem is how people on here seem to enjoy the death of a human being and not thinking at least what a shame it is that some messed up their life and died for it.

plus there is a reason why cops rarely come out bad in these situations, you always send something meaner and more vicious to apprehend a vicious person.
