Breckenridge Distillery has had alot going on this year, been to busy to keep up with it all, have had multiple bottles of the basic stuff, picked up this over lunch

Then the shopkeep talked me into trying this one as well

To finish it off when I was looking quickly at what Stone beers they had, he talked me into one of these. Also wife had a Bourbon-Stout last night and really liked it, so I just got two bottles so I wouldn't have to share.

It's really good. The same liquor store is down to 50% off sale prices (4 days left till they close). They had 2 Gingers for just $9 a bottle.

I'm not wild about it at the $30 it goes for around here, but at 3 for the price of 1 I bought all three they had left.

Just stop by Casa B, you can have some of mine breh.

Ocean aged Jeffersons is underwhelming. Groth Reserve is much better and I've bought both and did numerous SBS tastings. Honestly though neither are worth $100. WT diamond is better at that pricepoint.

Also recently bought Journeyman Silver Cross. It's a 4 grain but the rye dominates in weird way. It's like sucking on a spruce tree but I find it rather charming.

Has anyone tried the Jim Beam Double Oak? I'm curious to try it.
I'm not a fan of the new unaged Jim Beam Black Label. The old 8-year Black Label bourbon was a steal.

I hate saying this, but Jim Beam's quality has gone down the past several years.

Picked these up this morning. Caught the vendor re-doing theentireliquor section at the store and asked her if she had any discontinued stuff she was getting rid of. Literally let me go through a cart of wine/liquor before anyone else got to it. Lots of cheap wines and some bottom shelf stuff but....

Found these three. Have never tried any of them but...

the price was right.

Spoiler!

Trying to stay dedicated to the cut I am on so I'll be opening one of these at the end of each week as a treat to myself.

I just noticed this at Costco this afternoon. Has anyone tried this?
It seems odd to have a 27 year old whisky for under $70.
I haven't had any of Costco's Kirkland brand of Scotch.

Ha. Just bought a bottle of Redemption bourbon the other day. Pretty good actually, reminds me a lot of Buffalo Trace.

Has anyone tried the Costco Kirkland Bourbon?
I'm curious to try it, but it's $48 for a liter. There are so many great bourbons in that price range that are cheaper.

Been wanting to, but the Costcos in Ohio dont sell liquor.

I see people in FB groups mentioning it and they say it's pretty decent for the price. I cant recall where it is distilled though.

It's called 7 year Tennessee Bourbon and it's something like 51%. My guess is it is George Dickel.

No, it was right next to the 10 on the shelf. The 10 was on a decent sale and I haven't had either. Forgot how much I like bulleit, gotta try the barrel next.

How the hell do you drink whisky in SW FL? I was down there last week, my father bought me a bottle of Dewars 12 and my brother had a bottle of Lagavullen. I love the heat, but it was so humid, so hot, I could only drink one and my stomach was saying NO MAS

I could not stay hydrated enough to enjoy beer, gin, whisky, nothing. Good time to go on the wagon before the 4th.

This time of year I tend to drink Benchmark with Coke but don't let TwoValve hear you say it. But for sipping inside we've got the A/C set at 72 at nighttime, you should look into it.

Plain Bulleit for me, as an old fashioned. I was too lazy to actually make my own so I used this Old Fashioned mix I stumbled upon at Walmart a few weeks back, not too shabby.

A buddy at work who doesn't like whiskey was gifted this by a vendor, said he'd take $20 for it.

Google says $70-80 a bottle, so... score! Expensive doesn't mean good, but there's one way to find out. When should I expect you guys?

came in to post this, nothing to panic about IMO, it looks like the bulk of the barrels made it through OK. I see a limited release in the future...

What are you guys into these days?

The local bourbon bar is having a tasting next Wednesday featuring 6 of their barrel picks. Im thinking about going but $35 seems steep for little 1/2 ounce samples.

Was at the liquor store the other day and they had Ancient Age back in stock. Seemed like nobody in my area was carrying it for a really long time, so I had pretty much dropped that as my low-budget mixer/sipper in favor of Benchmark Old No. 8. Bought a couple of each to stock up.
