"I don't wanna be lean, just trying to get big and strong." which USUALLY means "Anybody can go to the gym a few times a week and eat pizza, dieting takes actual discipline that I don't have." These types usually go to the gym a few times, don't see results, and give up anyways. Then a few years later they have a bunch of stories about how they used to be huge with 4% bodyfat and could curl 225 pounds and bench 300.

and anything related to "Genetics".

"I don't want to spend all my time at the gym" <- plays video games at least 4 hours every weekday and 12+ hours on Sat+Sun
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.

Biggest cope is "I don't have time" or "mah genetics".

Not having time can be legit if someone works like 12 hour days and has a family to take care of. Not everyone can spare an hour + travel to work out every day, I get it. Saying you don't have time but then spending 2 hours on FB is another story.

Biggest cope for not lifting: "I don't want to get too big", as if that's an actual problem people run into.

In my gym almost everyone is "trying" to get big. Almost no one is big.

And, worst case, if you get too big, cut back. You aren't turning into 1970s Arnold overnight.

Subjectivity does not preclude trends. Anyone that has been skinnyfat and jacked can tell you just how wide that gap is.

I would say the biggest I hear is just everything anybody has that they don't

"It's easier when you're in your 20's vs. when you're in your 40's"
"It's easier when you don't have kids and a family to take care of"
"Eating healthy is impossible (brb bringing meals to work while they eat out every day)"
"It's easier when your arms are perfectly symmetrical when mine are 1 cm different"

I mean really, it just kills me. Nothing is easy for anyone. I don't want to go to the gym any more than you do. I didn't randomly get the "I love the gym" gene. Everyone makes conscious choices every single day about what to do with their time, stop blaming your circumstances on your lack of self-discipline.
Positive crew. 6'2" Crew. Bloatmax Crew.

Mine was bulky/strong, but I was competing in powerlifting so I meant it. When I stopped I o longer had a use for my powerbelly and dropped it like a bad habit.

I truly believe I just have chit genetics as far as building a "good body".

at age 14 I was 5'10'' 180 lbs. I squatted 325 lbs in competition, benched 240 and deadlifted 405. I was top 3 in strength in my high school as a freshman yet I was 13-15% bodyfat w/ a skinny fat appearance.

fast forward to age 16, I was 6'0' 205 lbs, was up to 435 squat, 295 bench and 475 lb deadlift again in competition. still skinny fat with 15 inch arms.

My diet has always been decent high protein moderate carb, dont eat pure chit. just have chitty genetics for appearances
Reps to all BJJ/grappling/MMA bros.

I never said that it did. I've been fat, I've been shredded, twink and I'm pretty jacked now. I'm speaking from personal experience; saying someone has a good body in subjective.

"I don't have enough time." - nah, it's just not important to you, surely if you cared you could carve out 5 hours a week.

"I just don't gain weight" - nah, you just refuse to be disciplined about food
