Was about to rep until that last part...a crime could be exceeding the speed limit or having a tiny bag of weed depending where you are.

Nah, 99.9999% of the general population would agree with you on the gender thing.

It’s just the tiniest of tiny percentages are given the biggest platform these days.

not talking petty chit like speeding or j walking man. can basically remove misdemeanors from making somebody labeled as a criminal. talking real crimes like a burglary, robbery, assault, etc.

Judging by the rest of his post, he means violent crime. In which case I agree. Carjacked gets shot? Armed robbery? Rapists?

Good riddance.

Executions should be swift and performed via .22 to keep costs down.

It's ridiculous to keep someone on death row for years, feeding and housing them with our money when the judicial system has decided that their crime was heinous enough to be punished by death.

premarital sex becoming normalized was one of the most detrimental things to ever happen to modern day society-there have been pros and cons that are still being worked out, undecided at this point
suicide is respectable-don't agree, but circumstances pending. IMO usually selfish when leaving people behind to mourn.
single parenting is always a bad thing-not ideal but better than no parent. Sometimes someone has to step up when other partner is irresponsible. Could be father or mother. Seen both.
rape/sexual assault is preventable more times than not-Most cases probably true, but when unpreventable is disgusting.
gang affiliation should result in deportation or the death penalty-have no insight and no opinion but may be true.
criminal lives don't matter, i don't care if police kill or use 'excessive force' against somebody who has committed a crime
-not worried about excessive force on serious criminals, but it is a thin line to walk before it becomes a real issue. (which it isn't now imo)

the reason though is to prevent unsubstantiated executions which is probably worth the extra cost? What if you were somehow on death row for a crime you didn't commit only to be cleared 2 years later, but you're execution was scheduled for 1 year. Ending a human life is a very serious decision and shouldn't be taken lightly.

Why even waste the $ on .22? It should be a length of rope. If that is “inhumane” then whoever says it is can fork up the cash for the ammo. Anyone who says that though is likely to be against the death penalty. So they can also come up with the money to feed and house murderers and rapists.

Technology nowadays is too advanced to make this an issue IMO. People who are convicted of serious violent crimes have DNA testing, fingerprints, hair strands etc - it’s literally billions/1 chance that they didn’t commit the crime. This argument may have stacked up in the past when convictions were based on eyewitnesses and negligible evidence.

So if you’re not willing to take those odds, you might as well just switch to anti-death penalty.

Edit: and also it’s never 1 or 2 years. People are on death row for 20+ years

Strong this lmao. I was almost found guilty for a felony I didn't commit and if I actually went to jail I probably would of came out a ****ty human being. I was extremely close to that reality.

No. (I'll add that i'm 18 also). But still, my life was almost ruined by a near false conviction. Technology is not advanced enough to dictate who dies or not, in the future it could be. In terms of the moral aspect I think all people that actually commit violent crimes should be executed. I would agree with you if I wasn't almost ****ed.

Most crimes that are punished with death almost always involve critical DNA evidence, which puts the odds in the billions/1.

I’m not trying to take away from the fact that you nearly got ****ed, but at least you would have been alive. It’s just the argument that you could be executing innocent people is weak in today’s world because crimes that warrant the death penalty involve forensic evidence.

Common sense views now have become openly "unpopular". I agree with quite a few posts here, but don't worry most people do but keep it quiet while this liberal brush fire sweep over. There is publicly unpopular then plain unpopular. A lot of these views are popular, you will find most of these sensible views are shared by the majority, just that they are being subdued with our current climate. It's a balance between sensibility and acknowledging reality.
