The male endocrine system has been under siege for many years, we are not our fathers anymore.Interestingly enough, one of the only proven correlation (not necessarily causation) to lower sperm count is smoking or secondhand smoke during pregnancy. If we assume this suggests causation or partial causation of low sperm count, that means men are essentially born with low sperm count nowadays. So you guys that have wives who smoke, or smoke around your pregnant wife, need to cut that crap or you’re sentencing yourself to having girly sons.
This is highly anecdotal at best but compare a picture of your dads graduating class to a picture of your own, now pick out the males, now compare and contrast the masculinity. Masculinity is tied to androgens and it is proven that masculine males are more confident/assertive. Confidence may or may not equal insecurity, hard to say but worth investigation.
I will say that smoking was way more common especially among young males up until the 90's (verifyable) when the anti smoking campaign got aggressive. When the male sperm study started more people smoked then did not smoke (estimated 52% of population smoked in 1950). But it's also possible the tobacco companies made major changes to their cigarettes along the way and new additives had a negative effect on developing male endocrine systems.

Take this with a grain of salt.Honestly this a theory I've had for a while now that women are becoming more masculine and men are becoming more feminine. Some of it doesn't even have to do with sperm and test either just the way men and women carry themselves and their mannerisms for examples dudes who gossip and hold grudges like school girls.

Although I will admit the question was very unfair due to multiple valid interpretations. I'm kinda glad though because it's led to a discussion on the root causes of insecurity.

Here is one of the dozen of studies done on prenatal smoking and the resulting low sperm count in their sons. They’re all retrospectively conducted though so take it at face value. If you look at related studies, there are a few more on nih alone.

Because they’ve been born into a generation where it’s not okay to be male.
Female traits are praised in babies, toddlers, school age students and general society.
Male traits are not. They are demonised as “temper issues”, “disruptive”, “immature”, “anti-social”.
On top of that you have the disintegration of society as a whole with the rise of technology replacing actual social interaction and helicopter parenting taking away opportunities for kids to take risks and grow, away from their parents watchful eyes, but typical male risk taking is viewed as some sort of degeneracy anyway.
So, with no real social peers to bond with, and being largely outcast from society unless they conform to unnatural, feminine, norms, we get the typical miscer, immature, insecure, and latching onto any form of male bonding they can, no matter how toxic it becomes.

The biggest cause though is an unhealthy habbit of comparing oneself to others
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

I also agree that cigarettes are far more toxic then other traditional smoking methods such as cigars or pipes. The companies add so much chit to those cigarettes, it's not even the same plant anymore.
This could be one of the causes, if they had taken blood from the subjects one would guess that the lower sperm subjects also would have lower T. But i'm convinced there are many different factors playing together here, smoking rates have gone down most years(not all) for decades and T levels have never been lower for young men.
Honestly alot of scholars speculate on diet/water supply being the biggest issues but I think environmental is high up on the list too: Our conflict adverse western society where everyone always wins and our reliance on technology to avoid "real life". This isn't what nature intended for man, nature also didn't intend for us to eat crispy cream donuts everyday, drink excessive ammounts of flouride or take a bunch of drugs(often prescribed) and smoke toxic chemicals.
So many potential causes: western man is probably doomed at this point, we will slowly castrate ourselves over the next 200 years and move towards a matriarchal society until we are conquered by a more dominant society perhaps from the east. This is written in history and will repeat itself with us.

Not socializing much makes you insecure because you lack validation and confidence. Also being good looking and aesthetic can make you insecure because you don't want to stand out too much.
