The main problem I see is the police officer stating a law that does not exist. It was stated within the first minute of open dialogue between the two. I do not in any way expect any police officer to know every law or ordinance. But, hearing such an error so early in the conversation has me doubting the police officers' entire credibility for the reasoning of the stop. Was the error on the officers part out of ignorance or was he blatantly lying....we will never know.

.....it was 70 seconds into the conversation. It was not withing the first minute.

I would be pissed about the bogus ticket. I've been pulled over for speed prob 7-10 times and have never had a bogus speed ticketed and never for less than 10+ over for all we know the guy is lying about is his speed/cruise setting.

No it wasn't. Cop freaks out about the dude not rolling his window all the way down. Dude doesn't have to roll his window down all the way. Cop on a power trip didn't like that and starts wigging out. The cop serves the public, not the other way around. He needs to shut his mouth, remain calm, and respect the dudes Rights.

Lets try another example for you: Took the USA about 35 years to lay down the interstate system (40,000 miles). That's over 1000 miles a year. It's now been over a decade and they're still working on this 14 mile stretch of highway. That good enough for you?

This is the most likely scenario. The dude didn't seem to be very concerned over the ticket which makes me believe he is lying.

Very likely a scam to get out of the ticket.

To be fair, places like Idaho, Motana, Wyoming, etc are probably far less corrupt partly because they are far easier to manage. I mean Wyoming only has like 500,000 residents so it should be a lot easier to reign in government corruption and bureaucracy and make sure money goes where it is supposed to.

However, if he believes the same holds true for places like Cali, Texas, Florida, and federally ... he's out of his mind.

the cop was being a dik that day and so was the driver. even slightly above the speed limit I don't see an issue unless he was driving in and out of lanes or getting right behind other drivers in an aggressive manner. What a joke to be pulled over for going hardly 10miles per hour above the speed limit and have to deal with a jackass cop.

I'd go to court and wouldn't have said another word, screw them.


I've paid $200-300 last 2 years for my tabs not to mention the chitty free way roads that are majorly over due for renovations here in Seattle. Wonder why even with huge spike in taxes being paid towards these things nothing has really begun. I finally went on city website and found the project manager for a road that has needed work for the last 10 years and he told me project had begun underway and they are starting June 1st. So far all I've seen is them changing the light bulbs in the street lights lmao

1 mile over can give you a ticket. Here are 2 scenarios:

5 over in 35 zone is almost 20% over. 15 over in a 55 is almost 20% over.

Thats dangerous.

Road work is extremely expensive. Ground preparation is just one reason why the road falls apart but speeding cars also tears apart the road. If everyone drives slower, the road wouldnt fall apart as fast.

This is absolutely not true. I've been pulled over for being wrongly radar'd. I've also known people who have been pulled over out of spite because the cop didn't get the actual speeder(s)... meaning the cops thoughts were, "Well I'm gonna ticket someone."

It's also unsafe to do the speed limit if everyone else isn't. In fact, speed limits correlate terribly to public safety. Following too close, chitty lane changing, changes in speed, poorly designed roads, etc... cause vastly more issues... yet... they are rarely targeted by police/government. Tickets for speeding are IMO the biggest bullchit "public safety" thing ever in order to collect money.

I'd be much happier and safer if cops spent time busting tailgating, people that don't know right-of-way, and unsafe lane changes. Who gives a chit if someone is doing 10 over if they're in the fast lane holding proper distance.

Sometimes the radars can be off and its a legitimate argument in court that the radar gun is uncalibrated, but youre talking about really rare cases.

Think about it this way, if everyone is doing 25 in a 10 zone, does the make it safe to travel 25? Absolutely not. You cannot be mad at the person doing the speed limit. Your speeding and impatience is nothing short of YOUR problem. And when you go faster, you mess up the timing of the red light, meaning youll be stopped at the next red light because you are going too fast, causing me to break behind your car when my arrival at the light would have been green.

Judging by your statements, you dont have a good understand of traffic, physics, enforcement, etc. But really safety can be summed up just by going to speed at all times, even though it can seem like a drag.

Speeding is a huge problem already. Going over just 5mph is also a big problem that many people fail to realize.

Its good to be a good driver but all of that skill is negated when it comes to driving on public roads because we are constrained by the speed limit, which most people end up ignoring.

Speeding on the highway and speeding on roads with multiple intersections, side streets, etc are completely different things when it comes to public safety. Not all speeding is done on highways. For example, the cop in the video mentioned multiple neighborhoods, driveways, etc he wanted the guy to turn into before the actual intersection he turned off on. Speeding through an area like this is far more dangerous than speeding down the highway. Catching people driving like cawksukers is also far more difficult. You have to be in the right place at the right time as an officer to see it happen. Far easier to monitor speed sitting on the side of the road.

TBH everytime I've been pulled over for speeding, I was speeding. No cop that has pulled me over has ever been anything but professional. So while Ive seen lots of videos and stuff, most...most of them I see involve someone giving the cops a hard time and getting fked over for their troubles.

So if Im a sheeple because Im polite to police, I dont argue with them and I dont insult them, then I guess Im a sheeple. Also, coincidentally the police have never roughed me up or tried to frame me.

Cuz is it a good idea to argue with someone that can EASILY kill you and get away with it? Is it? Really? I feel like its a bad idea and the concept of pride and toughness and being alpha gets trumped by wanting to stay alive.

And no, the police should not be this way. But still smart not to act a fool with them.

Again, this is not that hard people. Answer his questions politely, with respect and he will treat you the same way back 99% of the time. Why escalate the situation and make it worse than it needs to be? Who knows you might get out of that ticket. The more I watch his reaction the more I believe home boy was speeding, he was pissed he got caught and was taking that out on the cop.

All he did was make himself look like a entitled and triggered POS. The cop likely wrote up some note in his file about being confrontational so next time he gets pulled over it might be worse.

All that work and the end result is the same. He could have saved himself some time and maybe a ticket.

Likely on his way home from a Bernie convention looking to trigger the cop so he can sue for a fat payday. Maybe if we give him free healthcare and college he will simmer down. Likely starting up a go fund me page so others can pay for his ticket, it's not his fault, it's always someone else's.

Sometimes a minor traffic violation will lead to bigger things. Son of Sam was caught because of a parking ticket, Timothy McVeigh was caught over a simple traffic stop.

No, I'm talking about 3 cars coming over a hill, one is speeding the other two aren't. The speeding one slows when noticing the cop. The cop is aware someone is speeding but isn't exactly sure. So he pulls his best logical guess over.
Think about it this way, if everyone is doing 25 in a 10 zone, does the make it safe to travel 25? Absolutely not. You cannot be mad at the person doing the speed limit. Your speeding and impatience is nothing short of YOUR problem. And when you go faster, you mess up the timing of the red light, meaning youll be stopped at the next red light because you are going too fast, causing me to break behind your car when my arrival at the light would have been green.
If everyone is doing 80 in a 65 and they're all having to adjust their speed to get around you because you're the one guy doing 65... then you are the one being unsafe relative to everyone else. Christ, i see people do this even in the passing lane on a daily basis.
Judging by your statements, you dont have a good understand of traffic, physics, enforcement, etc. But really safety can be summed up just by going to speed at all times, even though it can seem like a drag.

Speeding is a huge problem already. Going over just 5mph is also a big problem that many people fail to realize.

Its good to be a good driver but all of that skill is negated when it comes to driving on public roads because we are constrained by the speed limit, which most people end up ignoring.
