I'd have to politely disagree with that. If that were true, there wouldn't be as many overweight people, addicts or self-defeatists. If you don't have the personality or drive to do something, you're just going to give up. It's like leading a horse to water but not being able to make it drink. Once you give someone all the help you can all you can do is step back and wait.

Drive is created through value, not vice versa. This is why nobody is beyond help, it's about teaching somebody to shift to healthier values.

If you've believed something your whole life and that gets challenged, naturally you are going to recoil and defend. Most people assume this is because that person is "beyond help." The truth is that you're asking that person (in this case, OP), to go against his 30 years (?) worth of believing whatever negativity he currently believes.

So yeah, it's gonna take him a little longer than usual. He may have to hit rock bottom. He may not.

Let's hope we can help him before hehasto hit rock bottom to change.

The flaw with that argument is that hehadhis beliefs challenged before 30, multiple times. Each time nothing much came of it (he has lost weight, which is good, but only short-term progress on his end and I expect it to come to an end soon considering he still has his toxic mindset). Every thing technical (like exercise and eating habits) that you could teach him has already been taught to him. Any other knowledge and joys of personal achievement he could gain has to be by his own merit. Before every action is a drive and without a drive an action is not completed. I hope OP changes, I really think he could be an inspiration to other members on the board, but I'm pessimistic.

Imagine someone found the stash to Area 51 or Roswell. And there is this one singular alien life form species. Or say someone found skulls to an unicorn. Or a stamp nerd got Inverted Jenny or a numismatics dude who hit upon a million dollar penny.

Well.... think of yourself like that in your bar on Friday. You are not a weirdo.... just unique.

You can teach somebody something 30 times, but if you're not showing it to them in a way that makes sense, it won't ever click. We've found multiple ways that don't work, that's progress to me. Now it's about finding a way to make it work.

OP knows what to do. There is no way left. It's just diet, exercise, and dedication. It's all up to him at this point. Will it be easy? Phuck no. Is it possible? Absolutely. That should be what OP is thinking about.

Lose weight. I am a 23-year-old virgin and I went from 167-173 lbs. to 160-164 lbs.

The 5-10lbs weight loss was well worth it, even if it meant some muscle/strength loss.

You said the only reason to live and our only purpose is to reproduce and pass on our genes and if we don't do that we are a biological failure. Nature only cares if we reproduce aka get pussy.

If I do all that and I still can't get any pussy imagine how that would make me feel. Lose a bunch of weight, exercise, diet, etc and in the end no woman still wants me.

Am I going to be happier if I lose weight, exercise, and diet? I honestly don't think I will feel better about myself if I do those things. That's why I don't know if I will ever stick through to it to the end. I honestly hate myself.

Well whatever you're doing now obviously isn't working and better habits increase your chances greatly. There's really no downside to it, plus you'll feel better physically and probably get an ego boost from gains. You'll never know unless you try and 99% of people feel better about themselves after they get in shape. All up to you at this point.

This is the purpose of life in general. However, each individual can find other reasons to live. It really boils down to choosing experience over inexperience. Some of our lives may be deemed failures by nature, and may be genetically meaningless. But there is still meaning in your own life because it is the only one you have. It has extraordinary value to you in that sense. Think about the best food you ever ate, game you ever played, music you ever heard, etc. These are all experiences you got to live through. If you were dead, none of those things would happen. Sure, for some,at some point, life is no longer worth living. But at under 40, I would say it is still probably too young to throw it all away. Maybe at 60 or 70. I think about it everyday brah, but deep down, I still want to see tomorrow. Because things change. Some things get better even if a lot of things get worse.

Everyone should lose weight, exercise and follow a good diet even if they're bloody asexual or lost their private parts in an accident. The fact that people base their health on sexual options is why so many people are obese - There are people still willing to sleep with them. I've never based my health on sexual options, I've been single for 6 years while athletically built and I've had sex with 10 women in the space of 2 years while being athletically built. I just think it's important that regardless of what place I'm at in life if I can run quick and long, jump and climb high, than at least I have something going for me in my life.

What do you have?

Hell I even look at my 30 year old peers who have more sex than me but are slovenly, have no aspirations and need 9 hours sleep a day and 2 cups of coffee or they can't function, and I think they're kinda sad. You're 30, not 50 you should still be able to run 5km at a moments notice and go up a 2,000m mountain without collapsing.

No problem at all, glad I might've gotten through to you. 32 is still a pretty young age to give up and you still have a lot of your life ahead of you. Yeah, you're a little late, but who gives a chit. Just focus on the potentially bright future. Good luck!

This loser has been whinging on the misc for 10 years and has nothing to improve his life. He is a lost cause.

Why are you washing your time trying to help this guy after all this time?
