Yet liberals still don't seem to understand how laws and regulations f**k capitalism from the top down. Imagine trying to start an investment firm in New York City... good luck not getting raped every which way just trying to be in compliance with everything before you even get your first customer.

What? You should be able to go buy some weiners from Walmart and sell hotdogs anywhere you want without a permit. Wtf happened to small government? I understand government regulation in large scale restaurants and food suppliers is necessary, but how does an $90 permit fee for a hot dog stand help the community (you know, what the local government exists to do)?

It doesn't. All it does is generate revenue by indirect taxation and make it harder for someone to start a business. Also, the real reason, it protects big business by stopping competition. You didn't need all this **** when many of today's large businesses started, why do you now? Hint - it's not for public safety.

Uh no. Government is the problem. This is a perfect example of how government bureaucracy can be leveraged against you. 100 years ago this wouldn't be news because there was no bullchit government technicality to stop you.

Couldn’t he just draw some pictures and sell them for the cost of the hotdog and then Just give the hot dog to the person for free. Then when he gets questioned he can just say he was selling his art work. Pretty sure it’s not illegal to give away free food

The reason we have permits is exactly for public health reasons.

But I guess people who buy hot dogs from a kid understands the risks.

So, how does this kid paying $90 for a permit make it any safer to sell a hot dog? Should my gf get a permit before she makes dinner tonight? If she undercooks it I could get mildly Ill for a day, I hope the government keeps me safe

On another note, government is not supposed to exist to keep people from using common sense or mild observation skills. I think you can even eat hot dogs raw so what threat could this even represent?

Mind-blown that you actually believe that. If you knew how much under the table bullchit goes on with permits you wouldn't be saying such nonsense. Go spend some time researching who backs most regulations. It's usually large corporations or a few large corporations intent on keeping competition out. Go read about Tesla and Tucker motors. Go read about the taxi industry.

So the dude who owns 10 hotdog carts downtown shouldn't have to purchase and renew the permits correct?

Or should hot dog cart permits be free for kids under 18? or no cost for poor people?

Man, I'm not against the kid nor do I think he should have gotten a permit. I just said that permits and licenses exist for a reason. Whether you choose to believe it or not is up to you.

I don't give a **** about permits because I'm never going to need one because I'm never going to sell **** on the side of the road. You feel me?

And I highly doubt that the same government bodies that regulate the automotive industry are the same ones that issue and regulate permits for small-time hot dog stands.

Exactly.

It's not about why the permits exist. The kid didn't follow the procedures required by the law. Whoever snitched on him had the right to do so.

I would be absolutely pissed if i was a hot dog cart owner and this kid, without a permit or health code approval was getting media attention and TV time while i'm applying for permits and keeping my cart up to health code standards.

How is that fair at all?

Why should he have to buy a permit to operate a small, local operation? It shouldn't cost any person in the US anything to try and support themselves.

Now, if the dude is operating a restaurant with lots of different foods all having real preparation requirements and dangers, employing an entire restaurant staff, etc... ok. Or if he is making something that could reasonably cause a public health problem, sure require a permit and inspection.

Pretty sad in the United States, in 2018, it's illegal to run a hot dog stand without paying the crown. It's illegal in many places to live off grid. Basically illegal to try and become self sufficient without paying off your owners.

So you're suggesting that anyone operating any type of food cart or food truck that is preparing pre-cooked food shouldn't need a permit?

They exist for a stupid ass reason, some politician wants the government to have the power to limit competition for their friends.

I swear man the Misc never fails to bring out those "special" people. Poor kid is trying to scrape up enough money for school clothes and here y'all go with "permits, procedures and the law". He's not opening a fukcing chain of hot dog stands you tards.

The person who called it in probably didn't want too many "people" walking by her yard and quite possibly doesn't have anything going on in their life.

So you're suggesting it's fine to not follow the procedures in place if it's a child who's not following the guidelines? (won't get into racebait)

reality is it was probably a hot dog cart owner who saw it and called it in. Because if he should have to be health inspected and pay for a permit why shouldn't a kid?

Maybe that hot dog cart owner should just get his son to open up a hot dog cart downtown and not have to be health inspected or buy a permit!

Yeah you're also right and the kid is probably taking food out of that vendor's mouth too.
