I don't want to hurt the feelings of all the folks here techin'.

I'm not putting down any of his hard work, it's just lol from my perspective].

You'd be shocked how many people are convinced that this is attainable naturally and through hardwork.

In addition, you can absolutely put on muscle mass on tech without even going to the gym or doing "hard work." People used to post the research paper all the time a few years ago.
Again with a generalization...you’re way off base and I’m sorry you don’t see that. I am not going to make personal attacks because it’s silly.

No, you aren’t making gainz taking it and sitting on the coach. Feel free to post whatever research you want...it’ll change nothing.

I’m finishing a back session as we speak...so I gotta go but I wish you luck in whatever you’re looking to solve or convince others of.

Larry isn't entering the GT3 race int his hypothetical structural situation though. He's very likely competing against other people who shop at Whole Foods. He's got a lot of stuff online that doesn't refute it.

There's a massive difference between a push press with 225x8 and a strict press of 225x8, seated OHP is somewhere in the middle. Sure they're both impressive but someone with a 225 strict OHP for their 1rm might actually be able to hit it for 8 reps when it's a push press.

Does anyone know what the world record for strict standing OHP is?

The only thing I can find heavier than Larry's 180kg is a 230kg log press by Eddie Hall, and he kind of push presses it.

Larry is strong as fuk, but lol at comparing him to the world's strongest man ever, Eddie Hall. Thor is a few tiers above Larry too, just like most WSM competitors.

When talking about the world's strongest men we talk in absolute terms. Who cares about weight, pound per pound the strongest dude ever probably weighed like 50kg. Larry is an absolute freak, 1 in a 100 million, he needs to do WSM. Lol at powerlifting, any elite WSM competitor would smash powerlifting meets.

Eddie Hall would, Thor and Shaw wouldn't because their levers are too long in the bench and squat.

Relative strength is impressive in its own right, and we aren't talking about a 110 lbs twink achieving a 4x deadlift. Larry is a ripped 260 lbs at 6'1, and his strength is within touching distance of the WSM guys at 400 lbs. I don't think theres much doubt that if Larry went bloatmax he'd beat any of them over the 3 lifts

There's maybe a 1% chance we get a video proving those claims. Pick your top 5 generic excuses, that's the 99%.

What's even better is he called his bench "weakling," that may be a relative term for different people but have you ever seen or known a guy who can strict standing OHP 225x8 and bench less than 365 or 405? I haven't.

i mean he kinda heaves it by keeping it off his chest then dropping down to initiate

momentum and stretch reflex, kinda disqualifies it from "strict" imo but that's still a lot of weight to move no matter how you do it

It's not that far from strict but he starts at his chin then brings in down to use the stretch reflex off the upper chest which makes it a lot easier. Pressing from a dead stop is much harder and would be a strict ohp in my opinion

This is a good example of a strict press and is way more impressive than the op

At 300 lbs you would have to think he would beat out Thor and Shaw in terms of static strength, maybe even Eddie Hall if he comes back to his best
lmao not a chance boyo, larry trains purely for static strength while strongmen train for a wider range of events.

Here's eddie hall pressing 216kg over head with better form than larry (maybe leaning back a bit more and it's an axle bar)

SS + GOMAD is all you need srs

SuperHeavyweight powerlifting record by Andrey Malanichev:

Total:2513 lbs

Squat: 1069 lbs
Bench: 562 lbs
Deadlift: 881 lbs

Brah, this is the most ever lifted by a 308+ powerlifter, lettuce be cereal, the best WSM competitors are close to those numbers if not better and they don't focus on just those lifts. Eddie Hall crushes this total if you were to call him now.

Put me down as wanting to see that 225x8 vid as well. That's a pretty big OHP set. More than I've done. I got a vid of 205x8 and 245x1.

not sure if you could count this as a legit press though. i don't think the bar is allowed to dip down first. but then again it's the same weight as olympic gold medalist chinese weightlifters can clean and jerk so kudos either way lol
