I'll play along with your logic of "creating criminals". In this scenario, criminals get caught breaking the law with zero losses or victims harmed. In a more "organic" scenario, there would be losses and people victimized. You can then use this as a teaching moment to them that you shouldnt break the law simply because you can. This is how it is beneficial/productive. It isnt perfect, but there you have it.

What we are actually seeing however, is a contingent of people defending them simply because theyre black teenagers, as if they arent capable of better. These kids then lap it up and feel like heroes. Very telling. Perhaps regular people hold prejudices because they don't want to "create criminals" yeah?

Lold at the salty neg I got because I laughed at them catching some broke ass old deaf guy who went inside the trailer after someone already cut the big bad zip tie used to lock the doors with a box cutter. He claimed he was looking for food which is probably a lie but still lol @ chicago police catching such high profile criminals while they cant solve murders.

Also looks like the deaf dude was only 36 so not really old at all. O well just another wonderful day in Chitcago with politicians and a police force probably more criminal than the people they bust.

Good post. Not the best analogy at the end though. The police weren't encouraging anything. Property was left around just as it is by everyone everyday. People independently decided to steal that property.

Hard to solve murders without people cooperating? Gee surely taking a bait truck full of nikes on a hood tour will solve that problem quickly. That is what I've been saying this whole time but no one can seem to understand that because they are too busy going ermergherd you're a criminal sympathizer. I also find it pretty convenient that this truck just happened to have stereotypical items people in the hood love almost as much as guns. Did not a single person think to themselves "hmmm I wonder what will happen when news of this breaks". They could of filled it with almost anything else and it wouldn't have made such a ridiculous headline for people to talk about and piss off the community. Why would it need to have Nikes in it if all they were doing was baiting people to break into an unmarked closed trailer. Seems legit

Wouldn't surprise me if the police tried to spread the word there were some fresh Js in there. I don't understand the point of the Nikes other than to make this situation sound awful when spun by the media and word of mouth on the street. This probably wouldn't even be a thread if it was dvd players or whatever random object in there nobody cares about.

Also in the vid they showed on the news it was a box cutter and he cut what looked like a zip tie. Its not like he came in with some big ass bolt cutters he probably just whipped out his EDC box cutter.

Totally, I've been trying to say these people are entitled to stealing things this whole time. Typical misc fashion of just making ridiculous things up in hopes of strengthening their narrow view point. Its ok I probably do the same thing all the time too. I think it's just what most people that view this forum get sucked into doing in hopes of getting laughs. You seem like a smart guy so I'm sure in reality you see what I've been trying to say about this situation.
