Family law in North America is structured to transfer assets from male to female. Notice the deciding factor here? GENDER. Nothing else. Not misconduct (on either or both sides). Not the welfare of the child. Not even relative wealth. All that matters is gender. If you're a man - you're screwed! Don't believe me, look some some cases in your local jurisdiction.
you are a moron and most likely not as qualified as at the lawyer I talked to.

I am pretty confident. I have a lot of evidence and she already agreed to 50/50 and no money

You are in for a rude awakening.

Unless you are going for full custody and win(no chance) , you are going to be paying 40% of your paycheck to this woman for a long time.

Doesn't surprise me you don't see it coming. You've been completely unaware of everything else up to this point.

Sure, but being younger, less experienced, naive and dumb doesn't give you any better odds. They are arguably worse because of the lack of experience in life.

I'm not chitting on you, I'm only 5 years older than you, but that was a big decision made at a point in your life when you should be out having fun.

Not getting married in todays age is such a no brainer. All it is, is a contract that you have to give half of your chit to her when the very likelihood of the union being broken at some point is so high.

It's a gamble, where you stand to gain next to nothing or lose 50% of everything.

Rest in pieces m8. I'm in the same situation as you before you broke up. Young son but were jot married, were common law which is basically the same iirc. Takes a special kind of person to cheat on somebody with a young child in the picture. Sorry for your loss m8

Edit - I think the divorce rate is over 50% now in Canada and the USA. That's ****ing ridiculous. Is it social media and the internet that's caused this? Finding other partners is incredibly easy with the internet now and women get infinite attention with social media now. So many thirsty dudes

Damn. I don't have any questions, just want to say I admire how you're handling this dispite how much it obviously hurts to be betrayed by the closest person in your life.

You're a real ****ing man, srs.

Also I know you know that you have your son and he's the most important thing in your life. Even though it didn't work out in the end, he's your blessing in disguise and I want you to remember that always. You'll teach him how to be a good man and there'll be tons of good memories with him to come.

Your ex wife will regret what she did one day, but by then you'll have completely moved on with a real lady who you deserve.

Never met a lawyer who worked divorces pro-bono. He probably means if you pay him a retainer + fees he will also sue her for compensation, but be prepared to be in court for years and spend thousands of dollars. If she has nothing to get then you will lose many thousands.

And this OP

Division of Property

Typically, adultery won’t influence a judge’s decision about the division of property. If an extramarital affair is unrelated to the economic condition of the marriage, then the adultery is not a proper factor for consideration.

However, if the adultery affected the married couple’s finances, it may become relevant. For example, if the cheating spouse spent thousands of dollars of marital assets to buy gifts for his or her lover, or to pay for expensive hotel rooms during the affair, a judge may take this into considering when dividing assets between the spouses.

I'm not married. The closest thing I've had was a 5 year relationship in which she went with my friend of like 14 years. It really hurt.

It seems like people have already told you that you married too young, so I won't bring this point up. How could you have known anyway when everyone else around you was doing the same?

I'm sorry for your situation. I can't imagine how frustrating this is, and it seems like you're handling this situation far better than most men would. It takes a lot of strength and maturity to do that.

Please let this sour your view of her, and not all women. You do more damage to yourself when you wall yourself up instead of letting others into your life who will help you grow and heal as a person.

My best advice to you is to stay off the misc for a while. The mentality on here might get to you if you have a moment of weakness, and it might cause you to do something irrational, which you don't want. Be the bigger person.

my father is a wealthy dude he will pay the up front costs that she will be responsible for afterwards. besides, it won't be going to court. she's already seen my case and knows she has no chance. she is giving me everything I want

high iq crew, nuclear engineering and web development jobs prove as much. gonna have to try harder to rustle me

I really appreciate this man, that is a meaningful post.

I can kind of tell she already is starting to. Has been contacting me more frequently, trying to make small talk and joke.
Bro I'm rooting for you, but you will be writing a check. Probably not alimony, but half your assets now and monthly child support.

I'll wait for the update.

Do you try to always be a piece of sh!t, or does it come naturally? You must be one sad and pathetic person to dog everyone at every chance you get.
