Wealthy Miscers Share Any Advice - Tired of Rat Race

If 300k is your goal, its not impossible.
You need to find a niche and make $200k from it. You're not aiming to go big time it appears from your thoughts. Many small niche markets can make you $200k/yr.
I've got a buddy, does well, he owns a very small web hosting company(very over saturated market). But he has a real niche market where 70% of his clients are from china, but he employs a person full time to do any customer service stuff. He nets $230k/yr from this. The company itself is worth around 500k or so.
Other friend owns a big counter top company, he pays himself 120-150k. He employs 105 people or so and has a pretty big warehouse/shop/storefront. Company is probably worth in the range of 10-15mil.
If you are really thinking long term, stop worrying about the "salary", worry about the net worth. If your only goal is the immediate income then worry about a niche market that can cash flow immediately. If you're thinking about the long term net worth then find a market that has major growth potential.
I own a portion of 3 different companies in 3 very different industries. I gross 300-400k/yr personally. The company I most recently purchased a portion of, it makes me about $40k/year. Long term? The company could be worth a few million to me and I'm a minority owner. My oldest company makes me $180k/r, I'd be lucky to get $300k for it.
It's all about perspective man. 300k isn't a life changing amount of $. What it has done is allowed me to have the funding available to invest into other ideas/options that come up without risking your livelihood/home and life style.

Why do you need $300k? That's where the problem comes in. The more money and materials you want, the harder you're gonna have to work.
I'd rather take $5k passive income the rest of my life than $300k. Don't get me wrong, I wanna ball outta control too, but getting to such a high salary ain't easy.
Give me $5k passive income and a part time job. Happy for the rest of my life.

You'd be surprised but that is incorrect. Companies have to be more aggressive with pay packages to get talent who are on the open market, vs retaining talent. Once they have you, you are on the standard progression of 2-5% a year. If you have a competitor company who is looking to acquire solid talent they could offer you 10-15k more per year so same role. I have seen it a million times and experienced it multiple times myself.
And my job now that pays 180 is the same as my last job that paid 70. They are both inside sales. The difference? Mid market/corporate customers vs SMB/resellers. Same title and responsibilities basically, but different tax bracket.

currently pulling in 350k a year
srs
not srs
but if you want to make more i got some bad news cuz, that aint going to happen working your way up the corporate ladder. think about it. to even get promoted means a position needs to open which means someone then has to go and pick you out of hundreds of other people.
not
gonna
happen
you are better off going the ceo10k/day route and trying to create something you can sell.

Save and invest your money. It takes time. Start with s&p500 index funds.
That or save and buy/start a business with it.
The key here is save.

OP asked how he can escape rat race - I'm telling him not to quit his job and to start a compny on the side, then when that makes like $100K a year, go full time with it and escape rat race.

I'm very sceptical of what it is you do at your age to net that sort of income. Don't recall you ever telling us. If it's true, great, but you are an extreme outlier, especially in the UK.

Then you only need to pull in $200K/Year (easy enough from one business) and you're done.
I've been hitting £350-450K for a couple of years, but as of a few months ago have completely taken my foot off the pedal because I feel like im at a stage where I can do a ton more work (read: time) but the earnings wont increase as quickly (in relation) - so im just losing loads of time where I may only be able to increase by say £25-50K a year extra.
Tbh, feel utterly unmotivated with what im doing atm. Its not hard/mentally stimulating/challening and I feel like im getting no satisfaction from it.
When money no longer motivates you / is your motivation, then where do you turn to?
I really miss the digital marketing/social marketing/advertising and initial start up culture. Being passionate and obsessive about something and growing your 'baby' into something impressive.
Would love to consistently hit £500K+ / Year doing something I love, but it seems (not always, but a lot of the time) in order to hit the big bucks, you need to take on a ton more responsibilities (warehouses, staff, then pay your staff each month, pensions for them, healthcare for them, dealing with bull**** dramas, lazy staff members, pulling sickies) and its a ton more stress.
I think thats why im happier hitting the lower figures, when its only my fiancee and I on the payroll and if I dont wanna work one day - then I dont etc. Dont have to answer to anyone or deal with anyone other than clients.
I think for me, the best bet would be to carry on what im doing - but reinvest the profits I make into a new company / startup. That would be the quickest/most straight forward way for me to hit £500K+ / year with minimal effort/time

If you're looking to earn 300k ish total comp and escape the rat race, you need to either
A- start a business and work really fukkin hard 80 hours a week, at least, for years, maybe you will make it with some luck
B- move to an extremely high cost of living area, take a management level it position, and live as cheaply as possible, work 80 hours a week at least
Those are realistically your only choices. There is no secret.
Otherwise, save and invest as much as you can while slowly increasing your salary now. Eventually be financially independent while having worked with a good work life balance the whole time.

More money is the wrong goal. What are your actual goals, why are they your goals, and how can money help get you there?

All of the confirmed CEO 10k a day miscers I can think of have started their own companies. The wealthiest that comes to mind no longer posts (he also made the goat misc anthem).
They probably work harder than you think.
There are a few brahs who seem to do well with investing (not just bitcoin).
You have a great salary if you can change your lifestyle and save a lot.
What I’m working on now is saving as much as I can after paying off debt, maxing out retirement, and looking for real estate opportunities. I’m above average real life but definitely well below what you’re looking for. Hopefully in the near future I will have 1 or 2 great income generating properties. That combined with my income and savings should free me from the “rat race” and provide me early retirement. I also don’t spend much on anything other than a good night out once in a while. I’d suggest only spending money on one or two things you really appreciate and give up on the rest.

Would you quit your chitty job and let me help you?
And they always say yes, and then when they realise that they are going to have to put more than 2-3 hours a night of effort into startng something, they all cry again and say how its too difficult, or its not straight forward or whatever.
You're right, it's virtually impossible for 70% of the population I know because they are lazy, entitled and thick as dogchite, with a zero work ethic. Everyone just wants to turn up to work, stamp in and collect that sweet $12 an hour and make jokes about being paid to smoke cigarettes, poop or make coffee - like theyre cheating the system somehow lol.
I've said before that its a B2C bespoke service that im offering.
I'm not going to go into detail, because If you have nothing to gain, then why say anything?
The word 'side hustle' is also B.S. I hate that. When I started my company, I left for my main job at 8:00am and was back home (after gym) by 7pm. Then I worked from 7:30pm to 2-3am every night and at the weekends, I was pulling 10-12 hours a day. It actually added up that I was spending considerably more time in my 'side hustle' than in my actual job. To me, this isnt a side hustle. It was a seperate job. But I've worked full-time with it now for the last 2 years and its much better (more free time)
Of course youre skeptical though, why wouldnt you be? Its not a normal salary for ANY age, let alone someone in their mid 20s.
I dont really know what you want me to say though to prove otherwise (and nor do I really care). I'm not going to post up anything actually related to my business (official documents or business names etc).
But here is some inspiration for other miscers to bite the bullet and leave the rat race, which you will never win.

£392K in ~8 months. (the drier periods on that were when I was on pretty much back to back holidays and I spent 4 weeks skiing in Switzerland and was with friends so couldnt get much work done)

It's worth remembering that this isnt a 'normal business' either. The above figures are almost 100% profit. I just have to pay corporation tax (Business tax on profits 19%), VAT (20%) and then Income Tax. It's not like im turning over £500K/ year, but £450K is on outgoings. My time is my outgoing.
Legit got about 19 PMs because of this thread asking for a step by step guide on what I do. Its a service related business as stated above.
Tbh though, it really doesnt matter what I sell or do. There is ZERO shortgage of money in the world. I know its not evenly distributed - but there is definitely no shortage it is. Find a niche. You dont have to reinvent the wheel either. Just find something thats already working and improve the quality, add new features, make it simpler, make it more advanced - or provide the exact same thing and just undercut them (although, I NEVER compete/sell myself/worth based on pricing. I think thats a **** method) I never want to be known as offering the cheapest or most budget service. I want to be known by my clients are offering the most insanely indepth/prestigious service, so that everyone else isnt even worth looking at.
Typical slow-laner mentality. Read "Millionaire Fastlane" by MJ Demarco. Whilst this method works, I dont want to be finally 'free' and 'if im lucky' driving around in my favourite sports car when im 68 years old.
Its slow, painful and dull.

You are selling 'something' multiple times a day at 700 quid a pop. You don't employ anyone apart from you're gf..its nearly 100% profit..its tailored to individual clients..
And you can't tell anyone even vaguely what it is.
Strong filling your post with irrelevant nonsense.
Right oh.
Edit: I do remember a guy that was drop shipping Chinese ripped off MS software..right lines?

- $100,000 should be your target by 30 years of age
- Salary should exceed $200,000 by the time you are mid 30's
- If you fail here, this is where you will compete with very smart, capable and psychotic individuals, you will get "counselled out" and may struggle to get back on track. If you break through here, and keep your job for another 10 years, you will be looking at around $500-600,000 total compensation. Post this, you will be at executive management level with the opportunity to break through the million mark by your late 40's
It should not be hard to break through $100,000 by 30. It's extremely hard to get beyond $200,000 salary as it's the first level where you will be stretched with profit management, team management and market making skills.
All levels require endless butt hole licking and serving the egos of all the seniors. It's also loaded with mines and grenades deployed to take you down.
Have fun boyos.

Sure there is Amazon/FB companies that pay extremely well out of school, but those are the only companies.

"what do you sell?"
"it doesnt matter what i sell, im driven"
fine, youre not wrong, but you didnt answer anything.
i asked op a while back what he did. thats how most people who go out on their own and make it get their foot in the door.
if youre a tradie or sell medical equipment, the "easiest" way to make it is to go go out on your own and reap all the profits doing the same work and cutting out the middle man.
if you know how medical sales work, you already know the product, where to get it from, and who to sell it to.
as opposed to say, being a barista and deciding to quit and become a nascar driver.
we have to be realistic with our skill sets and paths to success.

No one is asking you for the product name. No one wants any trade secrets. You can't even tell us what industry you are in..technical sales, law, PE, programming..its possible to earn that much an hour and more, in some sectors, but it amazes me you would take time out of your day, at $16 a minute, to type out stuff no one even asked you..
I don't know if you are a fraud, but you seem to be doing your level best to do an impression of one.

Even Investment Advisors will still give advice on what to invest in, in order to grow your portfolio. They will even give example mutual funds or ETF's just to help people who want passive income into retirement. Most of them will always say to put x% of your income aside, and budget accordingly. It's always generic advice, but it tends to work. Miscers here and in the Education forum always say the exact same things.
The fact that you literally can't even say anything about what you do does raise a lot of questions. Even if you said something like "I sell tech equipment to other businesses" would help. It also raises questions that you employ no one but your GF. A business at that size generally needs some management to organize and delegate what's going on.
